I called this final 7 games and Canada's first Cup in a while yes Florida was favorite but i figured the players on Edmonton will never get this opportunity and are getting at that age so Lets Go Edmonton. Lets wait and see what clever choice Drury makes with the UFA. Marchessault and Tofoli.
He’s gonna want 6-7 (or more in high cost NY) for 4 years and money & term makes it a no go.
Second stint with the Rangers... Audy-Marchessault was undrafted and first signed by the Connecticut Whale back in 2011. Rangers should have held on to him way back when.
Drury cleaning up his own mess he made. Nothing against goody, I love the guy and what he brought to the team but he is NOT worth that cap hit nor do 4th line players deserve any kind of no movement clauses. Next, Drury can clean up the mess of not having a gritty, tough, and skilled 1RW. Marchy is small but he's a fiesty guy a bit like Troch, or Bertuzzi would do well.
Marchessault played with 2 big physical forwards in hertl 6'2 220lbs and of course Jack Eichel. You can afford to have a smaller less physical guy out there in the playoffs but he needs to be paired with 2 physical bigger guys. Zib and Kreider might be big but they dont play it. I dont see this working unless we move off of Zib somehow.
I say we just roll the dice & try to sign Sam Rheiiiiin-hart. Cup or bust in ‘25. 😂
Goodrow shouldn't be too mad... Gets to continue making millions in Sunny California. Really dont want to hear it could have been shipped off to Winnipeg, Montreal or Ottawa

Goodrow had to go. It's a business decision. He didn’t fulfill his end of the contract. Goodrow did not play well enough.
Why is it cut throat when it's part of doing business in the NHL? Goodrow should have had a no movement to protect against it. Good for Drury for finally changing the way this team does things which is why we only won 1 cup in 83years! Why is it when the players B.S. us all the time with how they want to stay with our team and then go sign somewhere else for MORE MONEY? These players shouldn't even have guaranteed contracts because when they don't live up to it they still get paid! NHL should start giving contracts with bonuses so these players always have something to shoot for and don't get complacent
Dude so no ones ever gonna bring up the fact the rangers had a big bruiser shut down physical defender in nikkola mikkola and let this fuckin guy walk. Like anyone with a pair of eyes could see this dude had potential and a prime example of the ranger prioritizing soft ass skill over what truly wins. Florida is the blueprint man and i dont see us beating this team next yr the way the team is constructed. We need to make a huge trade and i would trade adam fox. 2 playoffs dudes been.pushed around and a straight liability behind his own net playoff time

The Rangers need a LARGE power forward to clear the slot. Marchessault is not the guy. The Rangers need size with good skills. Not great skills and small demeanor.
Nope, the rangers don’t need another small forward. No need to give 8-10 million a year to a guy who’s about to be 34 years old and has never been a point per game player.
