Was he worth his salary no but to say he was horrible in the regular season means you don’t understand his role on the team. He was a checking forward and great penalty killer. It was Drury fault that he over paid him

Great move by Chris. I liked Goodrow, but the cap space is more important moving forward, especially if we are going to resign or extend Igor. Trouba I think if he can't be traded will stay and we will have to deal with it.
Goodrow still makes his $3+ million dollars, boo hoo if he has to play in San Jose. I'll play in Antarctica for that kind of scratch!

I think it's a morale killer to play like a stud in the post season and essentially just be cut. He has more goals than Zibanejad, Miller, and Fox combined in the playoffs and he's the one let go? Dude had game winners and short handed goals. It's just ridiculous the folks they keep and the folks they choose to let go for nothing.

they didnt cut him for his performance they cut him for the contract hes getting big money for a 4th line player it frees up space to aquire a top 6 player im going to miss him but its a good move for the team

The Rangers have too many players with no trade clause and other than freeing cap spaces it sending a message to other players on their locker room who have no trade clauses

You also have to remember that a soft team just lost a lot of grit and everybody wants to get rid of truba then everybody turns around and says it’s the softest team in history and we need more grit.. well the truth is that this team post move is worse than it was before. Now it’s a matter of what they do with the money that matters or this means nothing.
I want Reinhart or another top center. I believe the best thing the ranger can do is move zibanejad down the lineup, as good as he is, he always gets contained in the playoffs by opposing top centers, either being shut down or just too busy playing in his own end.
yeah, i agree about mika, i would put him on the 3rd line, especially in the playoffs, mika and krieder cant be on the same line anymore, it doesnt work

New Yorkers remember George Steinbrenner he built a second dynasty selling and buying. Drury needs to duplicate what Steinbrenner was like. The Rangers need to keep off players that are 35 and over that are inconsistent instead they need players that will last 5-6 seasons so under 35 is a better choice. Now we all have to remember player that get traded do not immediately play as they did prior to getting traded. Boy will we get surprised at what Drury's next move will be, remember New York Fans want consistent players not inconsistent.

Goodrow kills penalties, block shots, finishes checks. He plays big in big games. Mika, Kreider and Panarin are great regular season players but disappear in the playoffs when push comes to shove. Every year. I could give a rat bum about the President’s trophy.
Whatever's best for the team, any players wanting to win a championship will understand that and sign regardless.

If Drury wanted to be ruthless and truly send a message: there are several exorbitantly priced stars, who are playoff failures; who deserve some ruthless treatment.
I feel like it sends a very negative message, and possibly consequential blowback; to do this, in this manner.
Especially to one of this team's true warriors: that sacrificed the body, spit out a chunk of his bloody jaw during the season, and came up big in the playoffs.
Goody's value was never about regulation season stats. That's not his role.
Playing big in the playoffs, was part of his role. He accomplished that.
Picking off a mere 4 mil off the cap: when you have about 40 mil tied up in several soft, under performing playoff primadonnas: is a low hanging fruit piñata move.
Feelings don't win cups. I think the core on this team is waaaay too buddy/buddy comfortable. They need to be nervous and play like their jobs depend on it. Vegas won a cup this way, Tampa 2 cups to a lesser extent of ruthless and Florida still has a chance to win one with the same mindset.

Drury signed him to this ridiculous contract lmfao the funny thing is why does this organization refuse to make a move like this with the obvious albatross of Truba it just blows my mind!!! This is gonna be only BS move they do and the albatross will still be on the roster in October Lindgreen, Truba should be moved by any means necessary and I would think of dealing Miller this blue line sucks !!!
