Rangers did nothing to make us better..Trouba is our guy.. Enough talking about it..
We missed out on Guentzel, Stamkos or Tarasenko.
can not win with 3 defensemen under 6-0....lindgram, jones , fox........
EXACTLY RIGHT
Big for the Wings. Could get Trouba as a FA for about $2-3M, then buyout Holl or Petry since Veleno went to arbitration.
Why should they buy out Trouba if they can trade him to a team that’s not on his list.. if he doesn’t report his contract should be terminated.
Why would a team give up anything in a trade for a player who’s said he won’t play?
@@KS-xs9jo then thats a breach of contract and his contract should be terminated.
@@KS-xs9jo They would. Would just have a team eat his contract and the rangers will be the team to pay for it.
@@Razahoo7 if they would, why hasn’t it happened yet?
@@Nyr22821If his contract is terminated when he doesn't report, the team trading for him gets nothing but trouble. No NHL GM wants any of that.
What is the chance Dury lowballed Lindgren knowing he would do this?
A buyout of Trouba doesn't free up 8 million. There is money that still goes against the cap.
No crap. But NY only carries a $4 million cap hit for the next 2 years, then $2 mil for the next 2.
Yep. Half of it.
Problem now is who replaces Trouba if he is bought out. All the decent and good free agent defensemen have already signed with other teams.
@@stiben718 trade
No kidding 😂
All this hate for trouba sucks. As far as lindgren goes....gotta keep him. If you truly believe in the phrase NO QUIT IN NY.....he's our man. This guy....when knocked down.....ALWAYS GETS UP. Everyone says.....WE NEED GRIT. Then, getting rid of Goodrow (one of our grittier guys) Trouba (arguably the hardest hitter in the league), and now maybe Lindgren (the poster boy for NO QUIT IN NY)....the grittiest player left will be Rempe. Lindgren is well worth 3.
Lindgren takes more punishment than he gives out. The only really gritty players left on the team after Goodrow was dumped are Rempe, Schneider, Lafreniere and Trocheck. That's far too short a list for a Stanley Cup Contender. They are sliding back into the "Gorton-era Rangers", not physical enough and easy to bully. The Panthers easily outmuscled the Rangers, far too easily.
Lindgren is a warrior. Old school tuff stay at home defensemen, who gives you 110% effort every night. He needs to stay!!!
He'll probably get $4 million per year for 3 years.
He plays hard and is a important part of the team [RYAN].
HE CAN NOT MOVE THE PUCK, AND IS TOO SMALL..
He gets hammered every game and sucks
@@djbigbet853 A TOTAL WARRIOR. He's the poster boy for the term NO QUIT IN NY.... Love him!!!!
I'm all for Jones
does length of term factor in arbitration also or is it for 1 year?
Many fans forget about the 48 hour window if a player goes to arbitration. Detroit will likely buyout Husso and Woll.
I like what Drury is doing. No need to give big contracts to older players. Dump Trouba here and see what the season brings. Make moves at deadline and don’t worry about anything but making the playoffs.
And what should he do with Shesterkin? If Drury doesn't re-sign Shesterkin by training camp, he should trade him.
Troll
Why would they buyout this season? They don’t need that cap this year.
Why buy him out when there is no replacement?
Buy him out, then his cap hit is spreaded out longer
Just keep him and trade him by trade deadline or next summer
Be happy when this trouba stuff is over and he's gone. If he stays it will be detrimental for the team on and off the ice. Can't imagine the locker room vibe would be a good one if he's not wanted.
So they offered lindgren less money on purpose so he would go to arb and the team would be awarded an extra buyout? Wow that's crazy lol
trouba wants to play hardball Drury says bring it lol save 4 mill the 1st year
Who are they replacing Trouba with? Who are they using those savings to spend, all the top players are already signed.
It's not to aquire free agents, it's to resign specific players.
Another 3rd pairing defensemen or Jones?
At this point Trouba is a 3rd pair guy. You can easily fill that role for $1M-$2M. A trade would likely happen. If not in the offseason then at the deadline.
What’s the point to buy him out now, makes no sense we are past the meat of free agency. Truba will probably start this year with the team and try to work something through trades or waving etc. if they were going to buy him out it would have happened when we had better options to sign. The only problem with Jacob is the salary cap but he is not the reason we lost and we are a better team with him in the line up as it stands. Most of the gas bags nonsense is just that nonsense regurgitated on social media.
Great Video, as usual, Darius
Totally agree Rangers need to hold on to Lindgren, but Trouba is a different story for a caption his stats are not so great Rangers could use that to help build a Stanley Cup team with the money that they pay Trouba
How many games per season will he miss because of injuries?
He was the best dman for the rangers in the playoffs
Love Lindy he has alot of heart but yes we need to trade him. The way he plays and how many games he misses it would be stupid to pay what he wants for the years he wants. BUT if it's a situation where it's either Lindy or Trouba... bye Troubs sorry budd
Rangers are not buying out Trouba
How tf do you know 😂😂😂
@@TheresalittleShadyinallofus your mommy told me
No one is going to trade for Trouba with 8M contract. I think they will buy hom out. They would get 4 to 6 million relief in cap money and can use.
I am ok about trading Lingren if there is a good return. I want to see Matthew Robertson play
Salary arb? That means Rangers didn't offer Lindgren enough money.....great
This is standard. He will be signed right before arbitration.
It makes no sense to buy Jacob trouba out at this point. Try to move him next off-season, and if you can't, buy him out then. Buying him out now with no one left on the free agent market worth signing is cutting your nose off to spite your face. And I don't want Drury making any more trades. All he does is trade away good long term assets for extremely short term, insufficient stop gaps. No thanks on that front.
They should trade lindgren if he wasn’t willing to take a team friendly deal get rid of his as he’s not worth 4-5 mil imo he’s like Trouba a 3rd pair D man on this team and if he stays they are gonna keep him and fox together which sucks ass as a top D pair
All the Rangers have to do is waive Trouba
Lindgren reminds me way too much of Girardi. Plays physical and hard and blocks tons of shots, that style doesn't typically age well. Girardi was a top level dman, until it all caught up to him, then the Rangers couldn't wait to get rid of him. Lindgren is undersized, and takes tons of damage each season, almost every game he comes off the ice looking like he had been levelled by Rempe.
The Rangers have more problems on D than just Trouba. They can't give Lindgren any kind of long contract considering the wear and tear he goes through each season, and K'Andre Miller was terrible in the playoffs and plays such a small game considering how big he is.
I hope they buyout trouba 👋 he won't except a trade to any team when he has a 15 team no trade list! They will save 4 mill the 1st year kreider the next captain
Trouba was bad news from the beginning. Ridiculous contract - $56 M for 7 years. Salary cap hell. Plus, more turnovers than a bakery. Bad penalties. Five elbowing penalties for every clean hit. Terrible signing. Get him out of NY.
Also why would you wanna invest in a guy who gets hurt every year and especially in the playoffs he always playing hurt and he’s too small he gets out muscled by all the time
Yeah he’s definitely injury prime but is great with Adam Fox… also I’m sure most Rangers fans would rather pay $3 million for a 1st pair D man rather than paying $8 mill for a 3rd pair D man that is consistently irresponsible.
trade lindgram.....always hurt......
ENOUGH with the sky is falling , we have been pretty dam good the last 3 yrs, we need to get GREASIER, you need to keep troubs and lindy , the two greasiest players we have on the roster, the core is there , its laff, kk, filip, schnieds, cuyille , jones, rempe, keandre, the children of the rebuild
If there is any way at all for Trouba to be gone, they absolutely have to make that move. It's become a PR nightmare. $8M for a third pair D who knows they are gone by next offseason at the latest is a disaster.
@chefrah54 Trouba needs to stay. If you want grit in your army.....having arguably the hardest hitter in the league on your side....probably a good thing. Plus, I don't think Trouba would allow it to effect the effort he applies. His issues are with Drury, not the guys he's been playing with for the past 5 years and wants to win as much as they do.
@@brutalplanet1708this isn’t about effort. Dude plays his ass off. He’s just the worst defenseman on the team positionally, foot speed and decisions under pressure. He was awful in the playoffs. At $3-4M you could live it. At $8M and a hole at RW2 there’s no way they win a championship if he stays.
@@AceInTheHole33 HE was awful in the playoffs?!?! How can you point the finger? The ENTIRE team sucked....with the exceptions of Igor and Vinnie. Follow your logic, may as well start the entire rebuild over.
@@brutalplanet1708the only other player who was on ice for the majority of their GA was Igor, who was fantastic. At one point, JT was on for 7 in a row. His giveaways and the times he took himself out of defensive position attempting a hit were countless. Not to mention the penalties. He was brutal.
