      Thanks! Rims where Rhino something or another. I think the tires were Hercules something or another lol

    Trying to do this same thing, but I am unclear how you got your crescent wrench in there to hold the shock from spinning, as it's kind of hidden on film, but also there is virtually no space or gaps to stick anything in on mine. Any recollection on where exactly you gripped on the shock with that thing?

      Oh dang, it's been a minute and several vehicles since that one. I honestly don't remember

      Haha! I have a few videos where people are going crazy about how I do something a different way than they do and then that leads to the whole world ending somehow lol.

      @@caleblandry2580 I just registered "A Guy And His Projects" with the state a few weeks ago. I'm working on it little by little. Time is hard to find haha! Maybe someday if the channel takes off and I can work on it full time that would be awesome!

    I have the same truck in gray also. Laramie. I'm replacing the upper control arms, lower control arms, tie rod ends, sway bar links, and the wheel hubs one day this week. I'm on my third 3rd gen, all this color 02 1500, 03 2500, and now an 04 1500 Laramie. Do you do torsion key level kit? And what tires and rims are you running?

      Thanks for watching! Should be a fun day lol. Rims are black rhino, I don't remember the model

    Good Job! I have the same truck as you 2004 4x4 but with the 4.7 engine. I am between the Bilstein, the KYB Excel G or KYB Gas-A-Just. Not sure if the Bilstein are worth the extra money.

    Just put these on my 05 4x4 1500 today. One thing I want to ask. Usually you are supposed to tighten the shock bushing until it’s as big as the washer but since the washer is huge and flat how much do you tighten it? Or just get it snug is fine? I figured since you’ve had these on for longer you would know. Thanks

    • @AGuyandHisProjects
      @AGuyandHisProjects  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never had a method of tightening them before lol, that's the first time i've heard that. If there is no torque spec I just go until it feels good, not really a way to describe it I don't think. I would always recommend giving them a check a couple hundred miles down the road though. Wish I had a better answer for you

      The top will bulge a little and bottom will just be touching under. 1A auto has a video on everything 3rd gen with torque specs

    Ok so I got a 03 dodge ram and my friend has been telling me to get the blistein 5100 series for a softer ride quality would you say the 4600’s would do the same?

    • @AGuyandHisProjects
      @AGuyandHisProjects  ปีที่แล้ว

      4600's and 5100's are similar from what I understand. 5100's are made for lifts and 4600's are made for stock height. That is what I have gathere anyway

    Couldn't help but notice you didn't show too pump the shock up and down and mix the gases as you're supposed too with new gas shocks before you install them.or youll have a bad ride until it compressed it's self few times did they not mention it on the directions

    • @AGuyandHisProjects
      @AGuyandHisProjects  ปีที่แล้ว

      Who knows, I've pumped them and I've not pumped them. Haven't experienced any ill side effects as of yet. You are more than welcome to pump them though!

    • @AGuyandHisProjects
      @AGuyandHisProjects  ปีที่แล้ว

      I looked into it awhile ago and couldn't find anywhere or any manufacturer that requires you to cycle them. It is a preference thing. Once installed any gases that have been misplaced will work their way back.
