I've been searching for a strut kit that includes both the shocks and the coil for my 2014 Ram 1500 RWD (2x4), but I can't seem to find anything online. Do they even exist or can I only replace the shocks like you did in your video?
Hey John Thanks for watching. I did not look them up. To be honest I’m sure I didn’t torque them just tighten them up good. It would probably be an easy google search. Just finished this week installing new Exhaust manifolds and fixing them infamous Hemi tick.
You can change shocks on the ground just like that. Shocks don't change ride height or anything. You know that now if you didn't then. Drop old one out. Cut the retainer strap and put it into the spot. You may have to push it up with your hand or a jack to get your bottom bolts started.
I see what your saying . Actually Stelantis now , but when they do those mergers it’s not like they closed Warren Michigan , Saltillo Mexico truck plants and built new ones. The keep all there engineers all there workers 90% of the same suppliers and all the research done before and keep building . Most of the time upper management and some mid level changes and that’s about it. Of course when there’s a model update after a merger sometimes you will see different technologies there. I suspect all Fiat contributed to the Tam was that ridiculous v-6 diesel. Lol
@@Jtwes Stelantis name is only used for corporate office only no vehicles will carry that name according to thier statement made when they announced the name chage
FYI, the G4 is mostly Diamler, not Fiat. It was designed and the early years were built under the Diamler Chrysler name. I have owned an 09, the first year of the G4, since new. 15 years, 235K miles and its still under warranty.
I will buy parts from all the Box stores like Napa, Auto Zone etc sometime Amazon with the part # I think in the case of those shocks I bought 4 for the price of two off Amazon.
Excellent team work and commentary men. Your video guy did an outstanding job making it entertaining and effective.
Cheers, Eric
Thank you so much. You save me a lot of time. Some other TH-cam channels are completely way different . You got it down, man. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍😃
Thank You. My wife’s favorite soda is Dr Pepper
Great work boss !

Hey Jay
I didn’t think it had struts . I might need to look again. Lol
Jay. Did you find some
I really liked that your boys are there watching & learning. What mileage did you have when you replaced them?
Hey Jaime
I think it was around 150k I usually right it down and for some reason I didn’t.
Great video!!
Thanks Chris
It's nice not seeing a truck that hasn't lived in the rust belt for 6 years. Up here I would be cutting that top bolt off to remove that shock.
I even make sure I get the salt off from a beach trip.lol
Good video I'm going to change shocks on my 2016 Fiat Ram 1500. Since Fiat took over lot of metric and japanese made parts on the trucks.
It’s not to tough of a job just have standard and metric tools available and you will be fine. Thanks for watching.
You made that look to easy 👍🏻! Wasn’t it nice to have all that help ?
Yes it was.
After installing the shocks does it need alignment
I didn’t. I wouldn’t think so because your not changing anything on the alignment. Since that video I’ve put on 30k and tires are wearing fine.
What's the torque specs for the two bottom 13 mm bolts?
Hey John
Thanks for watching. I did not look them up. To be honest I’m sure I didn’t torque them just tighten them up good. It would probably be an easy google search. Just finished this week installing new Exhaust manifolds and fixing them infamous Hemi tick.
I was loving the truck till I saw that hemi sign 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What that supposed to mean? 🫤
I hate how the front suspension for the 4x2 rams sucks… they don’t have enough travel because of the spring bucket
I know what you mean. I seem to sometimes hear something rattling in the front when I go over bumps. Thanks for watching.

I just wanted more room. Older I get I loose patience with tight working spaces.lol
Kind of know what I’m doing just looking at these videos for a reference. But I’m almost positive I’ll be struggling with a bolt or something
Hey Edgar
That’s me also. It’s not bad . I hadn’t changed any before.
@@Jtwes just finished, really easy. Did the rear also 4600 billsteins all around. Luckily I had a 21mm wrench to cut for some clearance.
Son your just an all around get it done kind of man. A lot cheaper than a garage would charge you.
Got to put my degree to work.
Fyi, 4th gen to current is NOT made by dodge its made by Fiat . The 3rd gen was the last dodge made the Ram

You said you feel bad about getting cheaper parts on Amazon rather than spending money at Autozone?? Your pocket doesn't!
Lol I guess it was because I looked the part up on Auto Zone and then bought them off Amazon. Thanks for watching.
Them factory shocks are garbage.. mines 60k miles and terrible
I keep hearing some noises under mine now. But with 200k I guess that’s to be expected.
@@Jtwes I'm putting new ones on this week. I probably should of went with a better brand than rough country but I figured they can't be too bad
