Thanks! I bought this monitor months ago, just wanted to see your review. Also, whoever is playing Valorant in the beginning, you need the Aim Lab, my guy.
I wish you had done a 240hz test as well, I use the monitor at 240 since I feel over clocking might be a bad idea for longevity (had a bad time with my last monitor dying). There might have been different results for optimal response time/motion blur

They both hold up really well against each other honestly. Viewsonic probably takes the slight edge just based on their build quality. But you can't go wrong with either.
I would assume so. Not much more wear than running at 240hz all the time. I have had monitors and TV's for that matter for years and it takes some real play time to see any issues there. Acer is a solid manufacturer and I would trust the 280hz.
4 months ago but hector for fuck sake you dont need 280 overclocking adds motion blurr ghosting delay colour mix screen tearing dropped frames skipped frames its not worth the difference from 240 to 360 is almost none so why overclock 240 to 280 you get 40 extra hz and gain 5ms extra which is cutting of 90 hz if put to cross if your ever going to buy a 240 buy the 240 wnd dont overclock it
Probably not my first choice. Acer does make a nice display that is color accurate, but there are other panels that are just as good without the 280hz. That being said, if it is dual use....I can see the justification and absolutely believe it is a fantastic panel for such.

I believe the speakers are about 6 watts. They work, I'll use them in a pinch when I don't want headphones. But I tend to also hook up a speaker just to have a better sound. That being said, because it's a good monitor aside from the 280hz, I would encourage you to buy it. But, check out the BenQ ex2510s as well, 165hz is probably the max you can perceive anyways.
It really does depend on your GPU. The added Gsync support for the G70A gives it the edge most of the time for Nvidia. But when using either on AMD, the Acer has a stronger showing for sure. I am sure you can calibrate the Acer a bit more, tune the GPU and game to target high FPS and you will absolutely not be disappointed. Tough call.

Motion and response rate were just fine. my only gripe is not about the monitor. It is about high refresh rate all-together. I recommend it if you are able to take advantage of the full 240hz plus with your graphics card and game.

hey my previous monitor had issues with stuttering at lower fps so im upgrading, do you think this is a good option for that particular issue? thanks for the video btw it helped give information about the monitor
I appreciate that. Given that issue, I would tell you that almost any (good) monitor that has FreeSync Premium would be a good option for you. FreeSync Premium will work at lower fps than standard gsync and regular FreeSync. That being said, that is why I do the blur buster tests. Check out that portion of the video again, it will show low, medium and high fps and how the monitor responds to that.
@@BainCustom Thanks so much. That alone helps me more than anything i can ever can get from anywhere else right now. One last question i have is. does freesync premium have any significant decrease in performance with nvidia gpus or is it not that noticable?
I have seen some monitors perform better using AMD for freesync instead of gsync compatible with nvidia. I just reviewed a monitor (yet to be released) that radeon performed better one with freesync premium. But I think that is the exception not the rule.
Hi, would like seek your opinion. I send my monitor xv270p for warranty and due to shortage of the replacement. They offer me to top up some to either take xv271z or xv272up. Would you mind to share which one I should go for?
What's your GPU? And what do you use your PC for? You have this monitor, in this video, that is a great fps monitor for gaming, while the xv272u is a solid 1440p monitor with still high frames. Do you want higher refresh rate or higher resolution? I will say I am about to review the xv272u, but it probably won't be out before you have to make your decision. They are both solid imo.
So the videos shows response time under the blur buster testing. Acer nitro has a good input lag in my experience, this monitor included. But check out the testing for pixel response performance. That will show the results better than I can message them.
update: i just got this monitor today and its really good. No ghosting whatsoever on my model. Should i keep overdrive on extreme? i mainly play fps games and need the minimum response time and input lag.
i was thinking of getting a new monitor and looking into this one. Do you know if you can attach a monitor arm to this particilar model or does it only fit the stand it comes with?
Good question. It's fairly simple, within the monitor menu itself it offers the ability to overclock. There are no special requirements for doing so other than having the proper connection to the PC and changing the refresh rate under advanced display options once the monitor is overclocked.
Hey! Great review, I'm surprised you don't have millions of views with this amazing quality. Edit: one question about the monitor, HDMI 2.0 works for 240 hz? I'm pretty sure this monitor has 2 HDMI 2.0 ports, and I want to use it in 144 hz until I buy a compatible cable, but my pc has no Display Port, just HDMI
I appreciate that, TH-cam is still figuring out the algorithm for the channel lol. For 240hz, you would need to use display port. What GPU is in your PC? Or is it without a GPU? HDMI 2.0, or 2.1 for that matter, won't supply 240hz. Technically 2.1 could, but I'm not sure there are any supported monitors with it.
@@BainCustom sad, it's because I have a laptop, it has a 1660 TI, and HDMI 2.0, I read on Google and said thay 2.0 supports 1080p@240hz, but I honestly doubt that, If I start working (Kinda left my old job) I would love buying this monitor, and then save for a nice gaming rig. Or do you think I could get a USB C adapter to displayport? I have a Legion 5 laptop, i7 10750h, 16GB RAM, and the 1660 ti, USB C I think is 3.2
Make sure there is a signal to the monitor, if not...exchange it. But I have had some issues with monitors doing that same thing. You could even tryo using a different port in back, even and HDMI cable to see if it starts.
I decided against it since it is not really optimized for console. 240hz is a massive overbuy. But I can see it being dual used for sure, I don't see why it wouldnt translate to good motion though.
Absolutely. It will work with any HDMI source. But you will not get full spec out of the monitor with the PS4, it will only receive the signal that the PS4 can send to it.
Samsung does make a smart monitor that runs on its own (not for gaming). But a monitor is not built to be an All-in-one, you will see the name all-in-one in the title of the product instead of monitor if the product is a PC. So I guess the simple answer is no, you would need a PC with it.
Hi there i have a question how is the 240 hz achieved is it by display port or hdmi I am looking to upgrade to a higher hz monitor and i do only have hdmi connectivity ( #750TI ) what is the best monitor for an upgrade?
ouch! Yeah you will only be able to achieve a refresh of over 144hz with DP and that version of HDMI. So you will probably want to target a 1080p 165hz monitor for now, maybe even a 1440p 180hz like the LG GP850 for a future upgrade. But frankly for that price...go buy a 3060ti and you will be able to hit 1080p 180fps in a lot of AAA titles.
280hz from a 3050 😮 I would shoot for a 165hz monitor, you could do something like a BenQ or LG that is 1440p. It will give you room to grow while offering good performance right now.
It's very simple. The monitor has an overclock setting and then right click the desktop and choose display settings - advanced display settings - choose monitor then choose refresh rate. Also make sure you are connected with display port and not HDMI.
@@BainCustom should I get a different monitor or keep this one. I plan on getting next gen console, I’m on the Xbox one now. It seems to be working good.
Well yes. But unless you also have PC I would tell you to get a different monitor. Check out this list for console monitors. th-cam.com/play/PL3_GjWZgNx1jFLULA3vWfPlj1A2Mj8EKK.html You may not find a suitable monitor on that list, but I would still be looking at a 1080p 144hz HDR or 4k 60hz monitor over a 240hz.
Does it have a non VESA 120hz refresh rate like 119 or something? I've been told my others it works just fine and I personally tested the GP850 at 1080p and it seemed to work just fine.
As far as I'm aware, that has something to do with the DP 1.2A or 1.4 or HDMI 2.0 vs 2.1... There is a point where the resolution and refresh rate become an issue based on the connector technology, but this is 1080p (massive pixels for its size but perfectly fine too)... Any updates on why it isn't viable?

I need to know more than that about the monitor to know if it is good or not.
Does this monitor run on its own or do I need a laptop or monitor
Samsung does make a smart monitor that runs on its own (not for gaming). But a monitor is not built to be an All-in-one, you will see the name all-in-one in the title of the product instead of monitor if the product is a PC. So I guess the simple answer is no, you would need a PC with it.
@@BainCustom oh ok thank you
Do you know if the HDMI Is 2.0?
I am fairly certain it is. I will say I do not remember off the top of my head. So take that assumption with a grain of salt.
Do you know how to turn on gsync for this monitor?
Hi there i have a question how is the 240 hz achieved is it by display port or hdmi
I am looking to upgrade to a higher hz monitor and i do only have hdmi connectivity ( #750TI ) what is the best monitor for an upgrade?
I have this monitor on 240hz and an amd ryzen 5 3600 is there a way I can run fortnite on a stable 240fps?
More importantly, what GPU you are you using?
@@BainCustom radeon 5500rx
@@neutralmm you gotta upgrade both cpu and gpu if ur wanting stable 240 I have a ryzen 9 3900x and 5700xt and get below 240 fps half the time
@@Titan999 then you gotta fix your pc my guy
@@Titan999 i get 360fps on a gtx 970 and 5600x. on amd cards fortnite has a few performance issues
Can its Hz be limited to 240 Hz?
Out of the box it is set to 240 HZ, so yes you can cap your frames to 240 if you would like.
@@BainCustom do you recommend for competitive games?
i have a 3050 will it work fine or not
280hz from a 3050 😮
I would shoot for a 165hz monitor, you could do something like a BenQ or LG that is 1440p. It will give you room to grow while offering good performance right now.
@@BainCustom ok tysm im gonna get a 165 hz it isn't 1440p
i put ur settings on and i still cant go up to 280hz do you know why?
u have to overclock ur pc in the bios
Hihns is correct. You have to oc the monitor and then change the refresh rate in windows.
It's very simple. The monitor has an overclock setting and then right click the desktop and choose display settings - advanced display settings - choose monitor then choose refresh rate.
Also make sure you are connected with display port and not HDMI.
can i use this with my xbox?
Are you also a PC gamer?
I bought this to just play cod on the Xbox x series would this get the job done lol?
Probably a bit overkill for the series x. I would look at one of their 1080p 165hz models like the EX2510s...but this will work too.
is it 1.4 hdmi?
2.0 I believe
Ok ty
does it have hdmi 2.0?
I just want to play fortnite 240 hz so this monitor works? :(
You can even play at 280hz if you want. What GPU do you have?
is ther anyway to mount this monitor?
Absolutely. It is a VESA standard mounting option at 7mm x 75mm. Check the manual before you buy a mount though, just to be sure.
@@BainCustom ok ty
Just ordered the 24 inch version for £100 cheaper 😁
Nice! That seems like a solid choice!
@@BainCustom It's brilliant, thanks for the video it helped me make my decision 😀
I just got the 27in for $200, excited asf for it to come in
My pc wont let me go to 240hz help
I’ve been using this with my Xbox, anyway to calibrate it to get better results

Check those out, I talk about calibration and point you toward the calibration I used.
@@BainCustom should I get a different monitor or keep this one. I plan on getting next gen console, I’m on the Xbox one now. It seems to be working good.
Bro didn't got the Vandal💀
I guess not
Can this connect to a Ps4?
Well yes. But unless you also have PC I would tell you to get a different monitor. Check out this list for console monitors. th-cam.com/play/PL3_GjWZgNx1jFLULA3vWfPlj1A2Mj8EKK.html
You may not find a suitable monitor on that list, but I would still be looking at a 1080p 144hz HDR or 4k 60hz monitor over a 240hz.
Just looked up the manual. All set to buy but it looks like this monitor doesn't support 1080p at 120hz so I can't use this with my Xbox Series S.
Does it have a non VESA 120hz refresh rate like 119 or something? I've been told my others it works just fine and I personally tested the GP850 at 1080p and it seemed to work just fine.
@@BainCustom I looked up the manual and it doesn't list 1080p at 120hz as an option. Maybe an error in the manual?
As far as I know, people are having problems with 2k at 120hz compatibility, but never heard of problems at 120hz 1080p
Just get the Nitro XF273. It 144hz and does support 120hz on Xbox Series S
Any updates on why it isn't viable?
bro said valOREnt
I did haha.
Can someone tell me if this monitor comes with a 2.1 hdmi cable
Are you thinking of a different monitor? This is not an hdmi 2.1 monitor, so it shouldn't.
Yes it does, Mine came with HDMI and DP Cables
So would it be compatible with a ps5 and be able to run 120 fps in fortnite?
I would bet my farm on it that it would, and I don't do consoles and know nothing about them. But I would for sure say "Yes" with this monitor
@@johnnieosborne8015 thank you 😊

Does it support G-SYNC ?
It supports it yes. It does not have the Gsync seal of approval though.
