I've been looking at videos of 27" 1440p monitors for the last couple days and decided yesterday to buy this exact Asus monitor. And I subscribed to this channel within a week, which I had forgot lol. I might buy the Acer as it's available on Amazon in my country for 210€ which is 20€ cheaper than the Asus. There was a reddit post of Acer not having good quality on their products so I'll have to look into that one. If anyone has been using either the Asus or Acer monitor would gladly hear your experiences of it. Thank you so much for this review!
My god… I just test the AOC calibrated settings along with your ICC profile, and it's amazing! Recently I tested several ICCs from others respectable reviewing sites, and your ICC is just on point with my unit! The SDR and HDR modes in the white point and gamma along with the sRGB representation looks almost identical! Thank you for giving us the ICCs profiles for free! Instant like and subscribe!
How do you even know the white point and gamma is on point without a colorimeter? Sounds like you went by eye on lagom. Otherwise you would have just made your own with a colorimeter. Dont use other peoples ICC files. Each monitor is unique.
When talking about gaming monitor, there is also the fact that you can play games that don't requires very fast response time. If you like games likes Valheim or Baldur's gate 3, having a slower VA panel won't be such an issue. It's really only if you want to be competitive in specific fast paced games.
I got the asus yesterday, pretty happy with it Theres actually 3 other contenders in this price range(at least in my country): Msi 275qf, Acer nitro vg272u And gigabyte gs27qa Decided to go for Asus because there was no info about the others, but they seem pretty solid choices
You're reviewing the exact monitors a lot of people are laboring over choosing right now with the holidays approaching. I was leaning towards the AOC, but I've got a television for HDR. Going with the Acer for gaming.
Having VA panels isnt an issue for me considering the types of games i play, I play simulator games outdoor games builder games, Nothing really fast 7 days to die being the fastest game. I can honestly say owning Asus Rog 4k Ips panel this AOC va shines more with deeper blacks and just about zero smearing, I do see ghosting at minimum with only flames at night. Other than that for my game play both my monitors are amazing. Great content ❤
Hey, you have the AOC? May I ask some questions? How are the viewing angles? Is it bad or not really too noticable? And if you're scrolling through black websites, does the text smear badly? Thanks!
@Zodfi-vl1oq TBH the viewing angles are typically just like any other VA panel, Not horrible but can look off from the side. But let's be honest if you sitting down playing games why would you want to hang you head at a 90? Text will smear a little when you scroll fast on dark websites, But not so bad it drives you crazy.
@@kurtl3100 Thanks for the response. Sounds pretty good, I also don't really mind the smudging too much, unless it's so bad you can no longer read text when scrolling (some va's have this :P). I might get this on black friday, hoping there's a sale for it. Was there any coil whine from the monitor b.t.w?
@@Zodfi-vl1oq haven't noticed any with my monitor, Each monitor varies some people get a solid unit not a single issue and others not so lucky. TBH keep this monitor in mind and look around for hot deals and use any coupons you get with them, Base your monitor on games you play and future games.
Hey! May I ask some questions? I currently have a pretty bad VA panel which I wanna upgrade. Mine has really bad smearing when scrolling through dark websites. Does the AOC also experience this? And how are the viewing angles? Is it bad or not really too noticable?
@Zodfi-vl1oq No smearing on mine and i dont care about view angles since i sit infront of it and its just for my use. So i cant really say. Recommend checking Monitors Unboxed channels review for in depth review.
Bought the acer monitor a couple months ago and it’s been good ngl, would for sure recommend it especially at this price point, glad to see a proper review of it finally
I have the AOC. In case you didn't know, the AOC panel is a Quantum dot HVA (high VA / fast VA) manufactured by TCL, which has acquired Samsung's VA panel division and technology (those used in the Neo G8 for example) once Samsung decided to replace the new models of the Odyssey line with OLED panels. So the black smearing, is it noticeable? Yes, but very little and only for office tasks. In games it is not noticeable, and I am a casual, non-competitive gamer, the clarity of movement and input lag are more than perfect for my necessities.
That's what I thought, compared to the IPS it doesn't seem that far behind that it'd be that much better to get IPS, unless you mainly play competitive fast paced games.
The AOC looks to be perfect for me since I mostly plays single player games on my ps5 but the problem is...I can't find it available ANYWHERE in my country(malaysia) !!!😢
I have the asus one. Super happy with it, amazingly fast, super uniform with no backlight bleed and also at this price range its crazy that you get ELMB sync and adaptive overdrive. AOC is two times more expensive that the asus where I live...

Is there any quality 24-27" OLED monitors that are good for 2nd monitor setups? I have 55" OLED TV as my primary, and using a 24" ASUS as 2nd, but looking to upgrade my 2nd monitor.
I wish I could find a good quality video that actually shows the dark level smearing of VA panels in a real scenario in gaming rather than just the UFO test. The UFO test is great at showing worst-case, but it also doesn't really tell me how much I would notice smearing in a game. That AOC seems great but this is an area where I have no idea if that smearing would bother me or not.
FINALLY I'm buying a 1440p 240hz monitor as soon as the price is goind to drop around BF/christmas. What do you think of the TUF Gaming VG27AQM1A ? I haven't see any in depth reviews about it and how it would compares to the GIGABYTE M27Q X or the MSI G274QPX. Should it be comparable to the VG27AQ3A, in which case i won't bother looking at.
i have the acer, or... one of those 27inch (Acer 27" Nitro VG270UEbmiipx) with the weird names. when i bought that one few years ago i wanted a 1440p 144hz monitor with nice colors, IPS panel, and good black values, which this ones gave me. i looked for a long time and i was on a budget. i dont regret my purchase
Hi! No, no... NO! 🙂Not high brightness for me. I like monitors with a very low lowest brightness, because I can´t watch bright monitors 🙂I get so tired eyes, even headache. I still like very good colors and no ghosting/inverse ghosting and at least 144 hz. And I would like black to be black - not gray. What monitor should I buy? Used for a lot of browsing and word/office-work and also gaming. My question: Am I in a relatively small group of people and the industry targets very bright monitors that most other people want, or are there a lot people like me - that use max 10% brightness on the monitors and 0 contrast, just to get not so bright screens? Thank you for another, as always, great video! 🙂
I play on my 55'' Sony Bravia 4k TV with 10 brightness, 70 contrast and 0 gamma. My TV has a VA panel, it has VRR and 120hz and Gsync compatibility. Now I need a new monitor because my old LG Flatron is dying, it's taking 10 minutes to turn on... But I'm more inclined to a 32'' monitor, my Lg was already 27'' and I felt it was small, for gaming and watching F1 as a second monitor. I don't watch movies on the monitor, only sports.
I bought that Acer one recently, hoping to get a monitor with much less ghosting and smearing than my VA monitor I've been using the past year. Only problem is I just can't make it look good in the settings. It's horribly dull/washed out looking no matter what I do. If anyone could help me sort it out that'd be great! I've gone back to my other monitor for now lol. EDIT: Nevermind... I set it up again and it looks good now! I have no idea why. 😆 Will leave comment up in support of the video creator. 👍
VA panels don't have glow issue? VA should have those viewing angle related glow/fading more than IPS. but this AOC one looks so good. the dark-bright contrast might strain the eyes?
I bought that Acer few months ago because it has 8.5 on rtings and its decent monitor but still Mini led is superior are those Mini led postigle on IPS Panel?
6:58 for the AOC , why the avarage(6.5ms) and worst (15ms)times are much lower here on this video lower than the ones showed on Hardware unbox channel ( 9.01 and 25.77ms) ? what changes on the testing? does AdaptSync impact anyhting ?! you are now my "go to" channel to look for monitors , along with hardware unbox . amazing content . 3:09 every monitor should have this at the box and always color calibrated.
There is a good reason for That.... The métod used by Monitor Unboxed is too strict, too much actually. They start the medition at 3% of the transition and ended also at 3%... So they cover more of the transition... But there is a problem... This monitor has a backlight That has bright variations, so the sensor captures That info, and That info cause noise errors, so if a good denoising is not doing well enought you get wrong data. On Rtings you can see all the data, and the way That they denoise the data, they said this monitor is 4.5ms avg and the slowest transition at 13ms... Since the MU does not provide all the data, I believe in Rtings (actually they uses 3RGB so more strict That Techless)
Boils down to different testing methodologies essentially. As @eliann124 already said we're all using slightly different tolerances (and different approaches to calculation overshoot), so the results from Monitors Unboxed, Rtings and mine aren't directly comparable.
@@eliann124 NICE answer ! thanks. i will check AOC on the Rtings site, so i can compare more models as well. in my region the closest IPS in price/quality are Asus XG27ACS and Alienware AW2724DM
OK, so what if I want something that's the best of both worlds between the AOC and the Acer? Not a "jack of all trades" but genuinely a best all-around option?
Any recommendations on 144hz screens 24inch to 27 inch and mouse . I need this 2 because I had a long distance trip and put my moniter which broke until it arrive and my mouse skates went off from my bag so I just want to buy new moniter and mouse
Will you check out the NEW KTC H25T7 (25" and $100-90)?... On paper it appears to be a much better version of the KTC H24T09P you already recommended and there is basically no content (in English) about it, the little content there is just talks about how good it is but they appear to be superficial reviews, there are only a few technical tests but they are in Chinese and Japanese (Still the little you can understand from the videos is that the monitor is great for the price) so basically 0 content, probably because it is a fairly new model (2024).
Yes, I think that is exactly why many people will buy a monitor or other product. Because in an over saturated market full of buzzwords and bs claims, with it not even always being clear which professional looking reviews can be trusted, many people will be taken in by the marketing and the on site reviews. Not everyone has time to Sith through potentially hours of videos showing real world use cases and benchmarks, before coming to a conclusion. I'm leaning towards blowing a sizeable amount of my time on just that but I certainly resent the perceived need for it and that I can't just reliably find a trustworthy description on Amazon.
What is also frustrating is that local stores who sell monitors have few of them on display and sometimes none of them even turned on. They can set up countless TVs with looping demo reels but you are out of luck if you want to see a PC monitor working before you buy.
I returned the AOC because like he says, dark places in games there is a ton of smearing. It’s best if you only play brighter games and like to watch movies
@@sergtrav nah, even Samsung G7-8 are like that. VA is just to slow to open from light to dark, you really notice it in dark areas with tree’s and branches while panning the screen around. IPS and OLED forever.
@@Amp_Edition I wonder if you could just increase the black levels to reduce or fix that Make the blacks look slightly gray, like on IPS panels, so you get less VA smearing
I honestly feel like the acer monitor was chosen because it was dirt cheap since there's no reviews so i presume people are just buying it for the heck of it since its so cheap. The asus one is probably because asus has a reputation of having good products and monitor so people buy that cheap model. And the aoc is the only exception where there were positive reviews and the product was praised highly

If you want HDR it's pretty clear which one you would want to get, the AOC clearly have better dark, white and contrasts as shown in the video. If you want fluid image while jumping in every sides most of the time (games are there to enjoy) without smearing tho, it's apparently more towards one of the two IPS you should go
Is interesting That the AOC monitor has better Pixel in Window That the IPS Acer, VA tech Advanced so much...
Sehr gut gemacht. Ich habe vor Jahren einen 1440p-Monitor gekauft und bin begeistert!
I got the asus yesterday, pretty happy with it
Theres actually 3 other contenders in this price range(at least in my country):
Msi 275qf,
Acer nitro vg272u
And gigabyte gs27qa
Decided to go for Asus because there was no info about the others, but they seem pretty solid choices
I have this exact AOC monitor, its great.
Bought the acer monitor a couple months ago and it’s been good ngl, would for sure recommend it especially at this price point, glad to see a proper review of it finally
i love my 80HE, i hope youre enjoing yours as well, great vid
I have the AOC. In case you didn't know, the AOC panel is a Quantum dot HVA (high VA / fast VA) manufactured by TCL, which has acquired Samsung's VA panel division and technology (those used in the Neo G8 for example) once Samsung decided to replace the new models of the Odyssey line with OLED panels.
So the black smearing, is it noticeable? Yes, but very little and only for office tasks. In games it is not noticeable, and I am a casual, non-competitive gamer, the clarity of movement and input lag are more than perfect for my necessities.
That's what I thought, compared to the IPS it doesn't seem that far behind that it'd be that much better to get IPS, unless you mainly play competitive fast paced games.
please do an updated vid for 24 inch budget monitors
Can you list top 27inch 1440p budget monitors in another video?
watching this video on the AOC in the video rn LMAO
Great video, wir sehen uns beim nächsten. ;)
Great Video. My Next Upgrade after my PC is for sure my Monitor. I really hope OLED will get way brighter in the future.
theyre great now too, but all best on the upgrade
The AOC looks to be perfect for me since I mostly plays single player games on my ps5 but the problem is...I can't find it available ANYWHERE in my country(malaysia) !!!😢
Check PS5 comparability on RTINGs before you buy. I remember them saying it had some issues with PS5, I don’t remember exactly what though.
Whatever you buy, make sure it's HDMI 2.1 because VRR requires 2.1. But 2.1 monitors are expensive.
4 years ago I got myself the Dell S21DGFA 1440p 165hz. It was and is still one of the best gaming monitors
I have the same monitor also! No dead pixels and going strong!

very good review, you should consider doing an review of Xaomi G Pro 27i which has around 1000 dimming zones. greetings from chile
Bester Mann! Als ich am Ende das gehört hab 😂 👍🏼
I bought KTC H27T22 and it's best 160$ I've ever spent on any tech so far. The quality of this thing completely blows me away for it's price.
I am watching this one at aliexpress, but there is no way to know if it’s AOU panel or Innolux
Thank you for the video, super helpful as always. :)
Do you think it would be possible to review the Asus ROG XG259CM? 🤤😬
I have the asus one. Super happy with it, amazingly fast, super uniform with no backlight bleed and also at this price range its crazy that you get ELMB sync and adaptive overdrive. AOC is two times more expensive that the asus where I live...
Do you find it not bright enough like its showing on the video? Because on paper it should look better than that.
@@eliasbrahmia813 Im using it at 10% brightness and its more than enough for me. Honestly I dont know when did people start obsessing about brightness, especially when it comes to SDR, since all content id meant to be watched at 100 nits.
Thanks for video.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the AOC q27f3xmn, but in Spain is like 360€ on sale, when it's not in sale it's like 450€.
However, this video made me question if I should get an IPS as I mainly game but I don't play fps, I just do AAA games. Should I get the gigabyte g2724d in that case or stick with the AOC? Any thoughts antibody?
i have that acer monitor for a year now and works great for me
I recommend Lenovo R27q-30, pretty good 1440p monitor for a really good price. I would love to see test in your channel about that monitor.
pretty pls make a review on the xiaomi g pro 27i it looks like an amazing mine led monitor for the price
like 1152 local dimming zones for around 300 bucks
Do you know the difference between the acer xv271um3 and the xv272uv3? i am considering buying one of the two, also u said the 1u has 450 nits but when i searched about it i found its 250 nits may i know why? i am very confused
Interested to hear your thoughts on the Titan Army P2510s, its the first 24" 240hz 1440p, and seems like a pretty good monitor, only issue is its not available in the UK. US and EU it seems to be tho.
Thank you !
Mabye a test between "LG(850P/GS85QX)" , "Asus (XG27ACS/AQ)" and "MSI MAG 274QRF QD E2/ 274QRFW"
I mean they are all good (..) But who is the "best WQHD Gaming" for round about 300€ ?
And by the way "mini led" starts @ 300€ . Iam so confused^^
There's a new LG GS75Q-B more cheaper.
@@mariop8101 but also better?
take a look at xiaomi g pro 27. yes, it some chinese brand that not really good represented in US, but for the price of +-350 usd, this one very good.
FINALLY
I'm buying a 1440p 240hz monitor as soon as the price is goind to drop around BF/christmas.
What do you think of the TUF Gaming VG27AQM1A ? I haven't see any in depth reviews about it and how it would compares to the GIGABYTE M27Q X or the MSI G274QPX. Should it be comparable to the VG27AQ3A, in which case i won't bother looking at.
i have the acer, or... one of those 27inch (Acer 27" Nitro VG270UEbmiipx) with the weird names. when i bought that one few years ago i wanted a 1440p 144hz monitor with nice colors, IPS panel, and good black values, which this ones gave me. i looked for a long time and i was on a budget. i dont regret my purchase
i have the acer too, and i love it. its my primary gaming monitor now
Is the ktc h24t09p still a good monitor?
Hey, i was considering a ViewSonic VX2758A-2K-PRO-3 to buy as its the only one available in my country is it any good ?
Hi! No, no...
I don't watch movies on the monitor, only sports.
could you do a review on the LG 27GR75Q-B been looking for some optimial settings
Should i buy the aoc q27g3xmn or Alienware aw2723df ? Its for Gaming and watching twitch and youtube
I use the acer one. And it's very good in color reproduction and it supports 10 bits if you can sacrifice 60fps from 180 .
thank u for this
Bro how do you drop this when I already bought the monitor mannn…I was waiting for your review on the AOC
IS Acer Nitro Xv272U V3 27 IS SAME MODEL IN INDIA
VA panels don't have glow issue? VA should have those viewing angle related glow/fading more than IPS. but this AOC one looks so good. the dark-bright contrast might strain the eyes?
Looks like AOC just launched natural G3XMN successor - Q27G4XM.
I bought that Acer few months ago because it has 8.5 on rtings and its decent monitor but still Mini led is superior are those Mini led postigle on IPS Panel?
Welchen Monitor von diesen 3 würdest du empfehlen. Könnte alle zwischen 200-250€ holen. alienware aw2723df, Samsung Odyssee g7 oder asus rog pg279qm
was the AOC monitor you reviewed Mini LED
thanks
what you think about Xiaomi G Pro 27i?
@@eliann124 NICE answer ! thanks. i will check AOC on the Rtings site, so i can compare more models as well. in my region the closest IPS in price/quality are
Asus XG27ACS and Alienware AW2724DM
Is the Xiaomi mini led better than those?
Hi, What is the firmware version used in the VG27AQ3A?
OK, so what if I want something that's the best of both worlds between the AOC and the Acer? Not a "jack of all trades" but genuinely a best all-around option?
why didn't u go for AOC Q27G4 or AOC Q27G4X which uses IPS Panel, to make it a fair comparison
can you review budget 27 inch 4k.monitor response time and input lag for fps games ty

What's do unrecomment the M27Q X or the acer?
Will you check out the NEW KTC H25T7 (25" and $100-90)?... On paper it appears to be a much better version of the KTC H24T09P you already recommended and there is basically no content (in English) about it, the little content there is just talks about how good it is but they appear to be superficial reviews, there are only a few technical tests but they are in Chinese and Japanese (Still the little you can understand from the videos is that the monitor is great for the price) so basically 0 content, probably because it is a fairly new model (2024).
Hey,
It is msi g255f good? For valorant.
How do these compare to the qpf-qd?
how does the msi 274qrf e2 compare to these monitors?
Can you make a video about the Xiaomi G Pro 27i? This monitor looks too good to be true
yay im glad i got the acer monitor. but i got the HDR 400 one
Hi guys do u think the AOC CQ27G4 is good?
I use monitors at 125 nits brightness, in this case, does having a high nits monitor provide me with an advantage?
I never use HDR.
I returned the AOC because like he says, dark places in games there is a ton of smearing. It’s best if you only play brighter games and like to watch movies
Welcome to the budget VA world.
@@sergtrav nah, even Samsung G7-8 are like that. VA is just to slow to open from light to dark, you really notice it in dark areas with tree’s and branches while panning the screen around. IPS and OLED forever.
@@sergtrav it's not a budget VA
@@Amp_Edition I wonder if you could just increase the black levels to reduce or fix that
Make the blacks look slightly gray, like on IPS panels, so you get less VA smearing
@@Violet-ui negative, it’s just the way VA lets light through the panel. It opens and shuts slower than the rest of the other panel technologies.

That mini led tho!
Hello! Can you please test msi 255f and msi 256f?
Xiaomi monitor G Pro 27i also,like 320-350 eur
I honestly feel like the acer monitor was chosen because it was dirt cheap since there's no reviews so i presume people are just buying it for the heck of it since its so cheap. The asus one is probably because asus has a reputation of having good products and monitor so people buy that cheap model. And the aoc is the only exception where there were positive reviews and the product was praised highly
Test vg271um3, it's same as xv272uv3 in specs and price here in india.. which I bought last month, it's mostly excellent in motion and clarity but at around 40fps and lower it judders horribly.
40Hz is usually the lowest edge of most Freesync monitor's VRR range, so that's just what happens when VRR disengages.
@@digmousethetired2056 no Lfc kicks in about below 57fps in my monitor... Judder becomes very bad below 40fps.. don't know how to fix or is it even fixable.
@@GameplayUnboxed Bro, you might have to upgrade your pc or purchase a higher spec one as a high refresh rate 1440p monitor such as this is not ideal if you are getting such low fps... You may alternatively settle with a lower resolution 1080p monitor for now, so that you may have higher fps.
@@monotheisticmortal5122 My 2060 super is perfectly capable running games at 50-60fps with dlss balanced/performance at reasonable settings and on top of that I use fsr framegen, so I mostly play 60-100 fps.. It's that I just wanted to know why this monitor judders below 40fps..
which games you play ? also they at highest graphics settings ?
Pls add hdr gaming footage with cyberpunk
If you want HDR it's pretty clear which one you would want to get, the AOC clearly have better dark, white and contrasts as shown in the video.
If you want fluid image while jumping in every sides most of the time (games are there to enjoy) without smearing tho, it's apparently more towards one of the two IPS you should go
