It is not Tiny. This is Normal Size. The Crazy Big Cars are just too Crazy Big.👍BYD❤
You are 5706% correct.
@@Ag3nt0fCha0s Yes Thank You.
It has the exact length of my 2004 Clio which is adequate for everything. I don't need/want anything larger.
Totally right. Fiat 500 is tiny. Almost-Honda-Fit length is not tiny
Oh wow, I can't even remember the last time I've gone "I want this" about a new car. This is fantastic.
You should check out this Indian car called tata Nexon ev facelift version 2023. It's really good it has many cool features like v2v and v2l
@@sriramsrinivasan9586 Sorry bro Tata is garbage.
@@sriramsrinivasan9586yeah but design is just ❌
@@sriramsrinivasan9586no its a joke compared to byd's cars. The whole car is just petrol converted version having multiple drawbacks. Indian 2 wheelers r miles ahead though. No competition at all for 2 wheeler ev's. We will 100% rule them.
It is a shame we can't buy affordable cars in the US.
They need 'make' money
27.5% retaliatory tariff is the reason, only way we would see this car in U.S if BYD built it in Mexico.
As China and Euro is enough of a market to fulfill, it's not worth their hassle to do that yet.
It is a conspiracy
Same here in Germany
Unless you are rich....you can get the new Ford electric hybrid mega truck
No joke. This is the kind of car im waiting to come to Europe. I dont want a market of only 40 or 50K € cars.
Right here with u m8
Absolutely. I don't even want the effin screen, all I need is the speedo/odometer and a charge meter. And an even smaller battery thank you very much, I'll be doing almost all charging at home.
The average car here in Sweden drives 300 km/week, meaning that half of all cars drive less -- I'm in the 100 km/week at most range, with home deliveries for groceries and most other stuff and a 5 km trip to the nearby bus terminal that takes me to most places I need to go.
I really need this car as soon as possible, my 2010 Volvo V70 is ruining me with all the repairs and services!
So do I
13k in Albania
@@ernestpergega648 Seriously!? They already arrived in europe!?
If this starts exporting to western europe anywhere in the 16-20k starting range I think this would change the game. Especially if they did release a gti version in the future lol
A 150hp version could be hoot
What's gti?
@@loudandclear2518 its that acronym used by volkswagon to show their "sport" edition cars. Basically improved engine and suspension n stuff
Not when people find out how crap the quality is.
How crap is their quality? Is it as bad as Jeep?
I was a passenger in one during my last trip to China. Agree with the NVH and I felt the ride was a bit floaty at speed. But for the money it is incredible vale
What I love about that seagull, it reminds me of the Hyundai i10 from 2016, I love the design, 300 km range is very acceptable for a second car or city car.
Thanks for reviewing my next car, Ethan
I just bought one. It's beautiful and comfortable. It's quite spacious and full of functions.
Hows byd's fast charging infra?
@@bondnikunj China's fast charging infrastructure is very developed and can be used by all electric vehicle brands. The fast charging time is also very short, reaching 80% in 20 minutes. BYD also installs home charging piles for free and provides a car charging pile, which can be charged with any 220v three-phase plug.
So how do like it after 3 months? Quality? Service required? OTA software updates?
@@roywiprud9999 I just had my first maintenance last month and there were no problems.
@johnsmith-jt5od bro can you tell ill buy this car if there is no any problem or get issue pls tell me ???
Thank you for your excellent reviews, I have to agree with what you said. I have had my "Seag" as I call it since last June and it gives me a lot of driving pleasure. My better half always says that I get a stupid grin on my face when I drive it. I highly recommend it for the city and if needed, can take it on longer journeys with no problems.
I hate the huge EVs, I love the tiny affordable ones, my EV is a 12 year old Mitsubishi minicab miev EV Kei van and i love it. What id really like you to test is a baojun cloud.
You won't have to wait very long for that one!
@@Wheelsboybro tell me this car is best one and the car has blade battery right this car will work 10 years or 15 without battery getting problem ??I'll buy this car ok
@@yaqoobabdulrahim383 很遗憾,这辆车并没有搭载安全的刀片电池,而是磷酸铁锂电池,甚至它都不是比亚迪公司自己生产的电池。
Looks like we didn't provide the power figures in HP and lbs.-feet as we normally do, sorry about that!
The Seagull makes 75 HP/100 lbs.-ft from its front mounted electric motor.
Are you interested in purchasing a Chinese vehicle and exporting it to your country*? We can help by connecting you with a reliable exporter! Email us at sales@wheelsboy.cn
*We currently cannot support customers in the United States, Canada, or right hand-drive nations due to import regulations and unavailability of right hand-drive models
Here's hoping a right hand-drive gets released in the near future.
In Australia for the price of a Seagull you'll only get a 13kw battery pack for home 😅
😊在中国 你甚至能把它当做一个30kw到40kw的电源来用 而且电池终身保修
@@Y___a__o_so it does supoort vehicle to grid, right?
Apparently it’ll come to Australia but will cost $31k
@@ultraciao Probably fill it with all the safety crap to get the ANCAP 5*. Wish companies would be Proud to just say "Four Star ANCAP, so no more Beep'n'bops that send you insane!"
Always watch your reviews of the Chinese Market, mainly Electric Vehicles of course, because that is what i am in to and must say, you do a fantastic Job Sir and glad i subscribed to this channel and spreading the word, much respect to you Sir. Keep up the great work. Cheers
Wish BYD would sell this vehicle in the States 🇺🇲
The US government will not allow
Talk to Joe😂
No, I don't think so. BYD only assembly and sells e bus in US, instead of these mini EVs. Otherwise they will be sanctioned and put into entity list by the US gov.
Your government will not allow it
No Chinese vehicle has ever passed an international safety test.
The Seagull is an ideal car for driving in the city, suburb. Lots of small trips, starts and stops. Occasional trip over 100 Km. If you want a car for long distances, look harder for other options.
Or just buy this and rent a gas car when you need to go far. At $15K you can set aside $1000 year for rentals without even coming close to the cost of a longer range vehicle.
The designer is Wolfgang Egger, who used to work with Audi. So, some connections with the Huracan looks.
Bring this to Dubai, I'm ready to buy it
Wait I actually love the asymmetrical center control knobs for the radio and climate controls. This interior is so fun
I can remember about two and a half years ago when the BYD Dolphin was launched in China and when it was launched in Europe it was a longer car with a decent range and it also had a rear wiper. The same could happen with the Seagull.
Bro I'll buy seagull it's good car
Good work - you are a talented speaker and presenter
They announced it to Brazil as the Dolphin mini, since the Dolphin is a big success
Yeah, would love a Seagull Sport edition !!!
They need to get this to europe soon, the market is so ready
This little car is simply out off the charts!
That would be awesome decision for me to export this baby to Türkiye for my personal usage. BYD soon officially starts to sell cars by debut of Dolphin soon. I don't know when Seagull will debut. For sure it's in my short list. 😊
Me too!
My car is made in Turkiye, and is much better, although slightly more expensive !
Dont forget the extra %54 custom fees for china cars
@@musakoca2684 I am aware of that... 😉👍🏻
finally! It actually looks huge from here 9:06! This can easily beat the Toyota Wigo or Honda Brio in our country at $15,000 or lower
Love it. Like the Edgy exterior design. Interior, i won't mind neat and more utilitarian design.
There have been tests with the Seagull that conclude that if it's not stressed too much on a highway, this thing can exceed the standard test range quite easily. It's light on its feet and light on power consumption for sure.
The BEST thing about the button pad in front, especially compared to the Dolphin with the same thing, is that you aren't as tempted to put your hands up there to reach for a phone and push one of these buttons by mistake. Still would have prefered they used a more pronounced/logical switch design for the keys though. I'm not a fan of that.
7:20 I think you should... MORE than if you DON'T have the ADAS. The assist system is horrible, and has a record of making fatal decisions.
车轮哥 👍🏻,感谢你的支持
Finaly a car for the masses! I want one, if to order in Spain i will!
I really like your videos man!!!
A great little car, love it
Would love this to be sold in Australia, safety regulations may prevent that from happening... :(
It would be great but I'm hanging out for a baojun Cloud, I hope wheelsboy tests one of those soon.
More like your Government is serving the US regime to be anti-China. Not very bright.
Dolphin is coming to Australia, and the Seagull is on the same platform, essentially the same width and height, but just shorter.
it's a huge bummer... I don't get that if they allow motor cycles to be ridden why can't they allow this with all those air bags and safety feature...
@@passby8070
Very good point.
BYD are in Australia, but they don't seem to want to bring this one here. I would buy one if they did. Every EV here is $40k+ AUD and some kind of SUV style body.
BYD Australian importers want to shaft everyone they don't want something they can't price gouge on
I would buy this over BMW i3 or Renault ZOE anytime.
BYD, we're still waiting for you in Indonesia
You Sir, deserve atleast a million subscriber!
looks like a winning formula ... if they can make it available in as many markets ad possible I have no doubt they will the a sales chart topper...
Those power specs feel like something out of the 90’s.
I like BYDs approach about safety. Sure you get some hard plastic but the safety is no compromise.
It would be no compromise if it were standard across the range. But some of it is an additional cost. If they try that in Europe they'll get hammered in the EuroNCAP test because they always test the base model. So I expect export versions will have all the safety stuff as standard.
looks like a great choice for my first car
BYD EV number one in the world👍👍👍💪💪💪
This will sell extremely well ❤
I want it! From Sweden with love!
BYD Australia have apparently ruled out bringing it to Oz. What a colossal mistake. This little EV would be an absolute game-changer to Oz market - BYD wouldn't be able to keep up with the orders. I would buy one tomorrow - the perfect little run-around.
Why not buy a dolphin? Similar size, slightly bigger
@@yeetian2774 the base model Dolphin starts at $39k which is nearly double what the Seagull would cost. Seagulls would sell like hotcakes here in Australia
@@geoffsemon7411 according to RCEP isn’t the tariff supposed to be lowered to 1% or 0? 😨
Yep astonishing mistake, I am thinking BYD Aus/NZ just want to push the more expensive Seagull likely higher margins, but there is a VERY big physiological difference between a AU$40K car and one in the mid $20's. I know I would order one to replace our 2nd car in a heartbeat.
BYD Seagull would be awesome in Australia, don't need the expensive Dolphin. EV Direct are AH's for not bringing it.
My man, you dont waste time there, good job!) (Aleks Wuhan)
A 3door "GTI" version of this for the global market would enable BYD to quite literally print money.
5door GTI would be the go. 3door is so in the past you need to move on.
If this will come to europe for less than 15k I will buy it as my second car.
Those Sodium-Ion batteries are a game changer.
Hopefully they sell these elsewhere, too.
THANK YOU.
I like the Design👌
Oh~ My~GOD!!!!!!! I Want to drive !!!!!
Getting from A to B should not cost anyone $40K plus dollars
I have been waiting for it.
I would like to see you review the Toyota BZ3 EV. Really Interested in that car.
Great little ev, need one ❤❤❤
China continues to innovate. U.S. market take notice
Such a nice car. Specially for new drivers like young 16 high school kids or college to get raound for work and school.
I want one for under $13k that’s good buy!
I like this one over the BYD atto but it's not available in our country and alsooo, pink is not for everyone hahah!
the designer from Lamborghini can´t be unseen
I would like the BYD Seagull to come to the UK, but right now it’s unclear if this model will come to the UK. However, if I look at what Australian motoring media has reported, they’ve gone to say that the Seagull is unlikely to be sold in Australia, suggesting that RHD models aren’t a huge priority.
Will be sold in RHD markets like Thai, India, Indo, Msia, Sth Afr and other developing RHD countries
@@weilk7420 I haven’t heard anything relating to the Seagull’s launch in those markets from motoring media.
@@DaveDVideoMakerit is just logical because they need to sell outside of China to make profits. In China competition is intense, profit margin is razor thin. There is demand in these aforementioned countries.
@@weilk7420 I think the Seagull would also go well in Latin America.
Australia's import agent has said at this time they aren't looking to import the seagull.
In the UK it is BYD itself (through BYD Europe) who directly imports the cars. The dealers desperately want the seagull in the showrooms as fast as possible. My local one says sales of the Atto3 have been "underwhelming". Well looking at SMMT BYD have only sold 180 cars in the 4.5 months it's been on sale, that is pretty underwhelming.
From BYDs perspective there is no rush to get the seagull to the UK market. There currently are no other EVs in the sub £20k market. With the news that the replacement for the MG3 isn't a BEV and the smaller brother to the MG4 not coming any time soon BYD don't need to rush sadly.
Need this in the USA
Ethan... you loved this car because of the Barbie interior and you know it 🤭😜
Beautiful car very cheaper and full optional . Very very good
From România!❤❤❤
BYD batteries are the safest it won’t explode or catch on fire
Slow Driving sound = MIne mine mine mine
Make sure have a few glass breaker handy in this car. 🔥
Looks like fun. Hopefully it will join its BYD stablemates here in Israel as well.
These are the vehicles that will make a big difference.
People may be scared to invest big bucks in larger EV's that may be using yesterday's powertrain in a couple of years, but the risk would be smaller in a smaller EV.
It'd make a great "first EV" for some EV sceptics.
Also, the secret sauce for a city car is being zippy. Immediate midrange acceleration, especially between, say, 30 - 70 KP/h to zip through traffic and into parking spaces.
It's also the expected behaviour of small city cars in the West. That's why people buy them.
People like good handling, as we can see with the success of the MG4/Mulan.
This is where most Chinese cars fall behind their Western counterparts.
People expect a firm, sporty ride in smaller city cars at the expense of softness since these aren't cars you will do very long drives in anyway.
May as well enjoy yourself. 🤷🏼♂️
Interesting car.
Hopefully, BYD would look into your much realistic comments!🙏🏻
free Palestine 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
I think you also need to review few Indian evs which are under 12 to 15k ,come loaded with decent tech and are vfm.
Seating position is excellent.
Rear seats are always the worst in EV's because of raised floor. These seats are better than the ones in the likes of HIPHI Z.
I really want this car. Especially that proposed Seagull GTI version. I would take a trip to a different country just to drive one.
I wish the US would carve out an exemption for these types of cars, as we have no options like it here. A sub-3000 lb EV with active safety features is not a threat to other cars on the road. LFP blade batteries are less likely to start a fire than the batteries we have available in the US. And it likely has the least threat to the environment, both in production and operation. Especially with the more environmentally-friendly LFP (eliminates problematic Nickel and Cobalt, and replaces it with the cheap essential nutrients iron and phosphorus) or Na Ion (replaces the Lithium with Sodium) battery chemistry.
I wish they come up with a right hand drive one
Yeah, me too. The MG4 still works for us, though.
Better ask your government to switch to normal driving side, like largest part of the world.
Want to be treated normal, change to normal first. 🤣
@@BMWHP2😂😂😂
They probably will at some point. After all BYD is already selling in multiple RHD markets (Japan, Thailand, Aus, NZ, India), and is even building a factory in Thailand.
The Country with the largest population in the world drives on the left.
BYD: YES SIR
Hey there! I'm trying to do a similar kinds thing from the Japan side, so I just subbed and will be taking notes from you guys from now on! Quick question: would the Seagull classify as a "kei" car in Japan?
No, it's more like Fit
Its a B segment car, so I guess in Japanese dimension terms it's something like a Toyota Yaris.
please bring BYD seagull to Indonesia, cant wait how affordable for the price
wuling bingo have the same value
This guy is hilarious!
You should do news on the Xbus like its not having any updates recently
The metal on it reminds of those first EV's with golf cart batteries 2005 35k for those things back then hahah I had one 35mph max haha agagaga
Tiny EV
Big fire.
Little brain big ignorant 😂😂
Please do a review of Chery EQ1 2024 38kw version ..there is not much in depth review for that people's car.. Perfect for urban driving
i want this in canada
People in US and Canada really want a cheap run around car like this, but there are none.
Us in Europe too.
Even city cars are too expensive
Because your Governments are spending money on wars . While China is investing on their Citizens.
its all planed by european lead countries to stop the "others" from having prominent possessions in global financial market
please come to the PH BYD. I want this car.
Wonder if they will be coming to Colombia?
Hope it will launch in Nepal soon
I really like the car
That exporter you are talking about is very interesting.. I wonder if people can also avail these cars @ a price close to China's?
That depends on the model. Our price might undercut the official price from the automaker, but the bigger issue is that these models are often not even sold in other markets. So no matter how much money you're willing to give BYD, you can't buy one directly from them in, say, Dubai or Brazil. We offer the chance to buy them when you otherwise wouldn't be able to at all.
@@Wheelsboy Do you also ship spare parts to those folks that are lucky enough to be able to buy one from you?
+ sooooo easily cleaned 😊
Does it come with airconditioning standard? What about apple/android connectivity?
I wish they sold this in the US for $20,000 or less with a range of 350 miles per charge, I'd be strongly interested.
The crazy part is the range. I would take that range over any fancy/gimicky driver aides. This will be a perfect city car.
2nd car duties only? Nope, 75bhp is just fine. I bet this car beats the Fiat Panda in every way.
I hope this comes to Philippines soon! Also Atto 3😊. Great and fun review as always!
ATL motors (BYD dealer in Jamaica) hasn't started selling this yet
Will buy, when it comes to Germany!
I would by it straight here in Germany as my Daly Car... but I'm very sure if they offer it here it will be minimum 18k Euro or even more... think 15k would be the max Price Im are ready to spend, of course with enough Dealership's for Service the Car... this Car can't replace my others... but my usage would be min 70% instead...
Volkswagen says they will bring the ID1 for €20.000.
If so, tough competition in small cars that many are waiting for. You could expect the VW to be a fun driving silent car, like the e-UP which you can still buy new here for, ehhh, €29.500
