    The T200 seems to look better to me in my eyes but I tend to favour hybrids and fairway woods more based on the courses and conditions here in Malaysia. Waiting for the lockdown to end so that I can get to test the new 2021 collection from Titleist. Thanks for the great reviews and content guys 👍👍👍.

    Good video, I have a U505 3iron 20deg, it's been a pleasant surprise. I have it in the bag as an alternative to the hybrid. I typically only use it off the tee on course. Back in the day I could swing a 2 iron dead straight off the tee, missed that ball flight on tight courses, now I'm happy again with the U505.

    This type video with the tech, the course management insights, the educational component, and the beautiful shots is why TXG is so good. The 3 people that downvoted this are clueless.

    Definitely food for thought. I just don’t like the look of anything too big behind the ball when holding an iron. T200 looks like a great option. Would love to hear your thoughts on shaft choices!

    Would have liked to see you try to hit the stinger with the 505 and the high approach with the t200 just to show how limited they might actually be.

      Has to be easier to knock the 505 down more consistently compared to adding height to the T200

    • @jtrigzy5710
      @jtrigzy5710 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. However having tested both off turf I can attest as you would imagine flighting the T200 is easier than hitting a low ball with 505. However all shots did seem possible and if you have a decent level of shot making they will do what you want. I went with U505 rdx black 6.5 90g 2 iron as this seemed unbelievably forgiving accross the face and the only shot harder to hit was stinger but in reality I can do that easily enough with 4 iron on the rare occasion I need it. . For reference my hdcp is 5.2 at present.

      Similar here, the 2 bent down to 15* with a 3i length GD AD DI105x. Absolute low spin bomber off the tee, and can get it to land pretty soft from the fairway. 270-290 off the tee, 250-270 from the fairway. Love a good 2 iron with a shortish shaft

    recently I just can't hit my driver with any consistency, so I been driving with a p790 17* 39.5 inch, I swing it 100 mph, it goes about 240 more or less, the distance can be adjusted with tee height if I need to hit it a little shorter, really liking it. I think I just can''t handle the swing plane of driver sometimes. Driver is really kind of intimidating with the length and head size, causes me to swing too hard and out of control.

    I just realized that “in to wind” in this video is 10 mph which in links golf is the same as no wind :P
    Would be great to see a video on how to handle windy conditions which should be at least 20+ mph.

  • @chadinkorea
    @chadinkorea 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question is a utility iron like the 505 going to have the same length of shaft to a traditional club if you get them in a “3” or will the utility 3 iron have a longer shaft than the traditional 3 iron? I recently bought a used 500 utility and noticed the shaft is longer than my 3 iron.

    I have trouble hitting hybrids because they almost all draw too much. Would this be a better option? Are they less draw biased or maybe a little flatter lie? Or are there any options for a hybrid that has a flatter lie?

    • @JimboMcShmeat
      @JimboMcShmeat 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the same issue. In my experience, yes. I tend to slightly push the driving irons and have a slight draw. My miss with them is a smidge right but it’s far more consistent than the hooking hybrid.

    Has a patent prevented Titleist putting a polymer or rubber in the head?. I just feel that it was the missing ingredient with the 510 series. To me the UDI and PXG irons feel so much better than the Titleist

  • @commanderchair
    @commanderchair 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I kinda dont understand the point of a 2 iron other than playing tee shots into the wind. I would assume a hybrid or a wood would be much easier to hit a green with?

    • @John-78
      @John-78 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not just into the wind. It's a club for better players that they can keep in play off the tee.

    • @GRIFF22
      @GRIFF22 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lot of hybrids just go left. These Utility's are so much easier to hit off the deck, compared to the models from just 3/4 years ago.

    • @Magicmeatbag
      @Magicmeatbag 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For me I just personally like the look of mine down by the ball. It seems weird but I actually hit my driving iron better then my hybrid and 4 wood.

    • @InsuranceSpecialist
      @InsuranceSpecialist 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Objectively you're correct but subjectively personal preference on visuals is huge. Also finding the right hybrid that doesn't turn over a ton is much more difficult for better fast players than people realize

    • @FranTheMann
      @FranTheMann 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To add what some of the guys are saying here. A lot of hybrids are draw/hook biased - increase the swing speed and it just exaggerates more and more which makes it less desirable off the tee.
      You should take a look at the last video these guys did talking about the Cobra hybrid that Matt is going to try. At the beginning he was drawing it more than he’d like with lower flight but they messed with it to change the descent angle as well as other things.
      In the end it will always be situational which club suits you better

  • @emak4558
    @emak4558 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    5 min mark. You seem to have forgotten the 1 deg loft difference. With the results so close together, my observation is that at the same loft, the u505 would give the same ball data and probably more foregiveness.

    • @ProfessorSteez
      @ProfessorSteez 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a low launch and low spin shaft, typically this is what is expected from a driving iron being used to find the fairway in windy/less than ideal conditions. Not universally true though!
