Love these comparisons. Thomas’s carry and total distances here with the U505 is nearly identical to my driver stats except my spin is about 2100-2450 rpms and my height is about 100 feet.
My Sim Max 3 wood goes about 215 carry and 235 total off the tee and I can hit this off the turf with no issues. I have a feeling that this driving iron would be equivalent to my 3 wood. I would have to hit these to see if a driving iron would makes sense for me

U505 is really great. Not as chunky as U510 and not as skinny as U500, really nice combination of both. Great off the tee on short par 4s and good option as second shot on par 5s if your hybrid has a case of the lefts like mine sometimes does lol.

I have the 505 in 2iron and tourAD shaft. It’s a BEAST. I’ve never hit a 2 with that kind of strong high ball flight. Looks like a driver trajectory. Titleist, I’m impressed.

Any difference b/w two shafts?
Same Hzrdus Smoke RDX, but 92g(flex S) and 100g(flex X) for P790 UDI, 80g(flex 5.5) for U505.
So confused

5.5 is considered a regular shaft and will be lighter than the other two options. 6.0 stiff 6.5 x-stiff. Titleist shafts are designed a little lighter than the TaylorMade shafts in the utility irons. - Thomas

I literally went into Golf Galaxy yesterday and hit both of these clubs and ended up taking home the P790 even though I’m playing TSi3 / T100 / Vokey for the rest of my bag.
My OCD wishes the utility iron was also titleist but the p790 UDI suits my swing and eye way more than the U505

They are tools. Each has a dif job to do. Not about having a pretty looking matchy matchy bag. Whatever performs the best and gets the lowest score you can shoot into the little box on the scorecard. Ball doesn't care what the club looks like that is hitting it.
