Mitchel? she plays good, even arrangement and all elements push for good performance but melody and chords progression no interest - last chords storm copy from Yes but still not same powerful melody, I mention I don't wanna say anything negative but my non-impress of new songs last 20 years continue - there is nothing like police Queen David Bowie - Joni Mitchel, because if anybody whos can not play guitar and don't have good voice play any hits from those u will still feel the power of that song like Beatles even worst performer still can not cover beauty of song, Tal Wilkenfeld - "Counterfeit" live in Louisville if will hear that song from soso singer and soso player there is no that sense - i just write when ui saw Joni Mitchell

Folks name-checking King Crimson, but that coda section reminds me of Starship Trooper by Yes, as well. Anyone spot a Genesis connection? That would make this totally progtastic!

That vocal melody at the end is one of my favorite parts on the new record, and the way you all performed the ending here gave me chills. That dynamic build was so powerful.

This concert was my first time seeing her and Tal blew me away, so talented. Managed to get a ticket in 15th row only two days before the show.
Goosebumps when it goes from the mesmerizing part into that raw, sort of Who-like second part: 2:21 Of course I knew Tal Wilkenfeld as a talented, charismatic bassist in Jeff Beck's band, but it's clear she can have a successful solo career too. Much deeper, darker and richer than I expected.

There is new music that's awesome being created!! I thought the days of solid music with beauty and integrity were gone. What a pleasant suprise!!! I thought you were EXTRAORDINARY with Beck, one of my heroes, I'm old but I've never stopped playing the guitar. Tal you are a unique talent. The chemistry you have with this band is sublime and powerful. I thank you kids for giving me a new album to listen countless times to!

So much growth since she absolutely floored me in 2007 at the Crossroad's Festival. This is a great record that stays with you. Congrats to you, Tal. I wish you as much success as you can handle and look forward to hearing more from you over many years.

i can see why The Who would take her on tour....two incredible bassists.....one to remember, and one to introduce.
The first half of this song is trite and common. The second half is utterly amazing. Just let it go already Tal, be a great jazz musician or become a rock star.... your choice but time is running out (and maybe I'm too late and you've chosen). Love this song regardless.... so much potential in that second half. Embrace those minor chords (something jazz hates to stick with).

No one has paid higher dues and deserves the success that Tal deserves. As an old blues player, this encourages me to see a wonderful musician get her props after backing some of the best.
Exactly how did she pay dues, from what I have read her path was littered with an almost unbelievable amount of encouragement and support one rarely sees in your typical talented musician.
Rich talents still pay dues. She has always given everything she's got. Just cos she doesn't bitch and whine about the blocks and refusals (not to mention deaths) doesn't mean they didnt happen. Yeah she has had a glistening path but none of it is wasted.
At 2:30 the chord progression is a direct lift from Yes.
Could be another "My Sweet Lord" accident.

That's one of the oldest, most standard riffs ever created, long before Yes came along. It's not the riff but what you do with it that counts.

As much as I love the new album and this being my favourite song in it, I think that this particular version and arrangement of it is lightyears ahead of it. What a great song and an amazing performance!
Tal seems to shine in front of an audience. Her early work shows her having lots of fun challenging much more accomplished musicians as they challenged her. Music is a language made for having a conversation in tones and time. She hangs out with articulate players, and she "writes" and "speaks" that language extraordinarily well. I can't get enough of this Tal-ent-ertainment.
