Lovely people, the entire ensemble, there is loving artistry among them and true affection for each other. He cares for her and nurtures her because he knows the strength of her talent.
Damn that line up in the sky keeps getting bigger doesn't it? I saw him at out local performing arts center a few summer back, tore the place down! To all be well, safe and peace to you and yours
This is one of the Greatest rhythm section of all time, Vinnie maybe the Greatest ever, Vinnie + Tal: incredible. If you listen ‘Big Block’ from the same concert you think it’s unreal
Yeah, weird, I'm 53, been a music fan all my life, mostly guitar bands, love drummers, and somehow just heard of him a few years ago when he played on a Joe Satriani album. Since then I've had a succession of, oh, holy crap, he played on that? moments. He's so good.
This whole performance is mindblowingly powerful. During Tal’s solo I absolutely understand why the audience was as moved as they were. It was pure perfection!
Jeff died today and I am going down a TH-cam rabbit hole to let his tunes soak into my cerebellum. I've listened to this song thousands of times and it's etched upon my mind forever. RIP Jeff Beck.
When I bought the album Blow by Blow, I could not imagine just how important "Cause we've ended as Lovers" would become... I read all the tributes here and I am in tears, Jeff was my favourite guitar player... I have his music, cannot believe he is gone Malcolm in Toronto
He makes his guitar sing & talk & nobody sounds like him. I could listen to him play all night long as his playing is very peaceful & relaxing but God wanted him for a very long time but stayed patient as we enjoyed his presence. God finally gave him the ultimate guitar playing job to play forever & ever in Heaven. We lost a great man as God gained one of his favorites. God Bless Jeff Beck, I believe nobody enjoyed just playing the guitar more than him. People get ready , Jeff Beck is coming to add his unique touch to Paradise. Rest easy & keep doing what you like to do which is making people smile & have fun !
They went out there in front of that huge crowd, and just jumped on the wave of emotion… Jeff didn’t wait, he just went right into it, and Tal and Vinny they’re floating on the wave, and by the time it comes to Tal’s solo she’s launched. The crowd is like who is this little girl that’s just burning up there? And they start to applaud and Jeff comes back in, and here you can see Jeff loved playing with Tal because she inspired his playing. Jeff’s just ripping, it’s like he’s saying isn’t she great? And she is right there with him and sometimes it’s like there’s two guitars playing solos at the same time. What little kid has the fearless moxie to hang right in there with Jeff back? Awesome performance. This is the moment that made Tal‘s career, and introduced her to the world. Thanks Jeff. That’s truly the mark of a great artist, and of a great person, is when you’re bringing up those who will follow you. RIP man. We are all going to miss you.
Cesar Martinez JB has always been a class act. No big ego getting in the way. ALWAYS respectful of the other musicians sharing the stage. Just a cool & generous guy. Among the best that ever. Period.
WHAT A LEGEND **JEFF BECK!!!** i have played guitar for 50+ years and i get compliments but ...he was and is one of a kind!!!!!RIP!!!many of us fans still are in mourning over our loss of you!!!GOD SPEED!!!
Yes Jeff Beck is truly-THE VOICE on his guitar, with his fellow musician an extremely talented musician,- Tal Wilkenfeld who has wowed the world with her talent, and ability. Now that he has pushed the boat away, she is going to, I hope take over the world. Cynthia Allen-McLaglen
Jeff Beck was the greatest of the greats. He was light years ahead of all his contemporaries. His knowledge, technique, repertoire and innovation is unmatched.Tthank you JB for your enormous contribution. The world will miss you immensely.
watching Jeff Beck was a moving experience as he always had not only himself but the best of the best that we perhaps never heard of with him. Tal here slays us from nowhere!!! Amazing!
This was the first time I had ever heard Tal. My God, she still gives me goosebumps. She could not have had a better introduction into the industry than with Jeff and his crew. The joy they demonstrate at her ability truly warms my heart and there will always be a place for Jeff in it.
yes she can play im not convinced with the vocals lately but thats just taste theres no denying her ability on the bass and what a wonderful tone she teases out of that plank ... i have a similar one and mine is obviously broken
They joy is so abundantly shared with us - obvious on their faces, but most obvious in the listening to the product! This is my favorite incarnation of Jeff Beck - this lineup just totally does it for me. Vinnie Colaiuta. Goodness!!!!! Tal Wilkenfeld. I'm in love for all the right reasons!! Jason Rebello. Perfection!!!!! My introduction to Jeff Beck was in 1976. It was the Wired Album. Hooked on all of it ever since. Man, I'm headin' for back stage pass...
RIP my friend. You were always my go to guitarist when I was down and out. And Tal added so much - unbelievable you're gone bro. Love your version of Amazing Grace.
RIP JEFF You were one of a Kind Genius Virtuoso on Guitar, writing and arrangement! I remember learning Yardbirds records back in the late 60's. I'm getting old now so I don't remember any of them, but I'll always remember Jeff Beck. RIP
Seems like strats were made just for him. He was phenominal but at his very best with a strat in hand. Fully took advantage of what makes as strat a strat!
This piece never grows old. I love how Jeff was all 100% about the music, the love, the shared experience and never about ego. My band director in HS had a poster in the practice room that said, "Music is Love in search of a Word." This tune....these angels....brought it. I miss Jeff Beck. I'm a little angry, too...because I care. Rest well JB...
I remember the first time I heard the album "Blow By Blow" back in the late 70's. Years before Tal was even born! And I am telling you, these two were made for each other! What a great guitarist and what a great bass player!
I be willing to bet one of the many things Tal learned from the amazing Jeff Beck is the value of space. Jeff was a master in that respect....he gave us a bit to digest his soft, beautiful, emotive notes, and then he'd hit us with raging thermal nuclear war.... A case study could be done on Jeff's playing.....texture, emotion, contrast, space, and so many layers of technique.
this guy started and ended his notes where no one else would even think to start or end them at... and with such precision and taste.. rip my man... you were my #1
He sure was one of a kind and it is a joy to watch him just literally watch Tal play and give her the spotlight. Thanks for the music Jeff and you will be sorely missed.
I like this quote of Tal's in an interview "The fact that he's bowing, he didn't have to do that. It just shows what a generous musician he is, and that's evident in his playing across the board. He is a generous, loving, open musician."
What a wonderful performance from all four. No egos, just wonderful musicians supporting each other to fly higher and higher. It’s so great it’s on video so we don’t forget what brilliance sounds like.
Thankfully we have videos like these where the genius of Jeff Beck was captured so millions can still hear and see the master at his trade. RIP Mr.Beck.
My high school boyfriend gave me this album in 1976. This song has never failed to entrance me back to a time when all was good with my family and the world. I miss Jeff terribly !
So Sad this man is gone. I learned I learned this song as a young guitar player...However, NO ONE Plays like Beck... Thank You Jef for all the years of fantastic music... Greg J a Fan and Just another guitar player
Rest in peace Jeff Beck - thank you thank you for so many electric incredible moments of creativity, explosive brilliance - delicate at times, immense tidal wave at other times. Often also supporting upcoming artists like Tal here.
Masterful, yet again. I started listening to Jeff Beck back at the beginning of the 80s - I was tired of the same old blues and rock stuff. When I heard him, it was a whole new scene for me, alive and exciting. That is Jeff Beck to me. Refreshing and dynamic. That is who Jeff will always be for me, even after his tragic, fast death. I am devastated.
I remember seeing this performance years ago, I was searching for Tal's music and found this show. I had a big crush on her at the time and was trying to find more music with her in it. I'm glad I did, that's when my jaw hit the floor listening to Jeff make that guitar scream and sing the blues. What a magician. RIP Jeff. A Legend and king of the strings.
Jeff was just a class act in every way. Just a true gentleman!! And of course, he carved out a unique sound that is easily recognizable---and on The Fender Stratocaster to boot---and finger playing as well. Thank you Mr. Beck
It's so great of him to give her that space to shine. A real class act by someone who has the power to make a career like that. Also - great tune and version!
Cant believe it ,Jeff has been such a great musician / guitarplayer. For half of a century ! Got the news of him passing , just found out how much of a talent he is. Music to make a grown men cry. And I did ! And I only just met him , be like Jeff I can tell you. Doing that will make this world a better place. Thank you Jeff !
The best song from the "must have" album of its time. Was no CD players when I used to lay in my bed listing to this tune in the summer. Different times....
I had the record in college. I gave up my ancient turntable and got rid of all my records and went to cds. A few years or more ago, I bought a copy of Blow by Blow on cd at a library sale for the price of $2.00.
Wonderful to let young musicians shine. As a young artist I couldn't wait to be playing with my elders. Unfortunately, the elders do not support young musicians in our music scene, only seek to be admired by them. Thanks for sharing.
How incredibly fortunate we are to have lived in the same moment of eternal history and in the same planet in this enormous universe when Jeff Beck lived and created music.
If I can remember correctly this was on the blow by blow album I bought back in 1978 when I was in the Navy. No singing. Didn't need it. Didn't know who Jeff Beck was. I did after I listened to it the 1st time. RIP Jeff.
Seeing him at The Old Waldorf in SF was the pinnacle of all my concerts!! He was on stage with Jennifer Batten and it was badass!! Losing him so suddenly was to me, probably the greatest loss of a musical figure given his influence on my life. I know we'll still have to go through the many other greats still with us, but Jeff was so exceptional. RIP Jeff Beck, to me the godfather of jazz fusion rock. 😪 Wired 🙏
One of the greatest performances ever!! The raw emotion is stunning and all three musicians are world class...Always wonder what it would sound like if Jeff Beck did a guitar cover of the vocals for Pink Floyd's great gig in the sky...
Best version because Tal tears it up! Even at 20 or 21 she has the skill to make Beck sound just that much more awesome. It's good that Beck knows that, too.
I doubt there is a guitarist alive who could reproduce what Jeff did there, such a loss! Tal was absolutely perfect for him too and he always showed genuine appreciation for her amazing talent
ROY BUCHANAN, another ship passing in the night but leaving such a big wake... Jeff Beck being another huge ship and now gone sailed off into the night... Enjoy what you have, night or day 'cause stuff goes away too fast 🥺...
The "Live at Ronnie Scott's" version is also awesome: th-cam.com/video/VC02wGj5gPw/w-d-xo.html I was lucky enough to find a used version of the blue ray since it's no longer produced. All 4 musicians incredible!!
There is and will never be another sound stylist like Beck
Indubitably!
The pure joy that Tal shows is worth the price of admission.
The coolest thing about this is that Jeff is just so proud of Tal and takes such delight in her performance. This is a really beautiful moment.
and she is doing it for the joy, not for the flash
Lovely people, the entire ensemble, there is loving artistry among them and true affection for each other. He cares for her and nurtures her because he knows the strength of her talent.
that's so unusual---he was one of a kind
I just discovered this young lady she is incredible
Hai davvero ragione. In un mondo senza rispetto, vedere il rispetto e l'ammirazione che Jeff Beck ha per Tal, è bellissimo.
Rest in peace to the legendary Jeff Beck. I always get back to this video whenever I wanted to watch this guy. No one will ever sound like you.
Same man RIP

All that affectation from this little ‘head kitten’ who gets tutored every lick..beside which, Moog and 9 bar blues is, what, technical

This is so beautiful and now, so very sad also.
Agree...
The respect Jeff shows Tal is amazing. They work so well together.

I was lucky enough to find a used version of the blue ray since it's no longer produced. All 4 musicians incredible!!
Love the way Jeff always seems to appreciate other artists , in spite of him not realizing he still is "simply the best"
Every time I see Tal play that bass solo I just gotta cry!!!!!
Saw Jeff in Nashville last year. Amazing concert. Had never seen him live. Truly amazing!
