It is good if you have spare money lying in your bank account. The interest for savings account is only 2.7% while that for FD is 7.3% now. You will have to retain a minimum amount of Rs.50,000 in your SB account.

താങ്കൾ ഈ Auto Sweep Account നെ പറ്റി explain ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ ഒരു കാര്യം കൂടി പറയണമായിരുന്നു..... ഇതിന്റെ safety യെ പറ്റി. ATM Card/passwaord അടിച്ചു മാറ്റി ഇത് misuse ചെയ്യാൻ സാധ്യത ഉണ്ടോ ഇല്ലയോ എന്ന്. ചില ബാങ്കുകളിൽ Flexi Account ഉണ്ട്. അത് അല്പം കൂടി safe ആണെന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു. FD ആക്കി മാറ്റി ഇടാം. SB യിൽ ആ amount ഇല്ലാത്തിടത്തോളം ആരും അടിച്ചുമാറ്റില്ല. ഉദാഹരണത്തിന് FD യിൽ 6% പലിശയ്ക്ക് 2 ലക്ഷം രൂപ കിടപ്പുണ്ടെന്ന് കരുതുക. നമുക്ക് 40,000 ആവശ്യം വന്നാൽ അത്രയും മാത്രം അതിൽ നിന്ന് SB യിലേയ്ക്ക് മാറ്റി നമുക്ക് എടുക്കാം. ബാക്കിയുള്ളത് അവിടെ FD ആയിത്തന്നെ കിടന്നോളും. അപ്പോൾ ഏത് Card അടിച്ചുമാറ്റിയാലും SB യിലുള്ള പണം മാത്രമല്ലെ നഷ്ടപ്പെടൂ!

ഞാൻ MOD (MULTI OPTION DEPOSIT) SCHEME ൽ. ആണ് എന്റെ SB account കൾ ഇട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. പക്ഷെ മാസം തോറും ഒരു date ൽ ഒരു particular തുക MOD യിലേക്ക് മാറ്റാൻ എഴുതി കൊടുക്കണം. എപ്പോൾ വേണമെങ്കിലും amount withdrawal / deposit ആകാം. SB A/C നേക്കാളും കൂടുതൽ interest കിട്ടും. FD യുടെ അത്ര interest കിട്ടുമോ എന്ന് സംശയമാണ്.
