At 8:45, the 16000 ISO looks amazing. I still remember the days of shooting film with 1600 Ilford that was considered high. There are certainly a lot of shots we can do today that were probably impossible with film.
Great stuff! I have been using eos r for 3 years with 35rf, 50rf 1.8 and samyang 85rf and now I have to make a choice: r6 plus 28-70 rf or only body r3?
I finally have an answer for you about my camera strap! creative-teacher-9768.ck.page/1fb5eeedd8 this will be VERY limited so lmk here if you want to know when it's available!
I think any camera is good for portraits especially in your capable hands. However can't see R3 selling many just for sports mainly there are too many better options now for a lot better price. I'm excited about the Z9 that's more like the camera I wish the R3 was and I doubt the R1 whenever it appears will interest me either after the high price of the R3 compared to the Z9.
Canon already has a Z9, it's literally the R5. They almost have the same specs. In that regard I'd definitely call the R5 the better option if it's just about price. The R3 is for a different market - yes, mainly sports and wildlife photography.
@@3akoscielski Nah, definitely not if your main usage of the camera is photography. And as far as I'm aware one of the recent firmware updates reduced the overheating problem for long-content videographers to a minimum.
The Z9 is more comparable to the R5. Considering better options: there is nothing out there like the R3 with eye focus. This alone is worth every penny for those that need it. For the rest, the lenses are a system seller all together where there is no competition currently
@@3akoscielski like all other hybrid cameras which had this specs. There is a reason why Sony brought out a video focus variant at only 12 mp and various limits. The r5 was the first recording 8k and if you do that in a weathersealed body, then yes. This will generate heat. But you will definitely run out of space before reaching that point ^^. I am shooting with he r5 since a year now even in summer and not only once did it ever even show a warning or have any problems. The heat problem is greatly exaggerated
Got my EOS R3 bodies and loving them! My main complaint is that the autofocus modes are laid out differently than the EOS R5. On the EOS R5 the "everything+face-detect" mode was the first mode (all the way on the left), followed by the "spot autofocus", and then getting into larger and larger areas as you move from left to right. On the EOS R3 the "everything+face-detect" mode is the last mode (all the way on the right), and to the left of that is The problem is that I want to move from the "everything+face-detect" mode directly to the "spot autofocus" mode and back, but that's not possible without scrolling through all the other modes.
@@VanessaJoy - The only reason I'd switch from the "everything+face-detect" mode to another mode is to use the smart-controller to move an actual focus point. I just wish the two modes were next to each other, like they are on the EOS R5.
Love to watch you work, you make it seem effortless. However, I know by watching that you are working very hard. My better half and myself have bought 2 r6's, ( kit lens ) and have been very pleased. Keep up the good work and keep'em flying. It's nice to see you working in Austin TX. Go Roadrunners, UTSA football. Sorry, had to make the plug....They are undefeated so far this season...football...fingers crossed.
As an amateur my R6 and M50 (MK I, never understood why I should upgrade to the MK II) are more than enough for me atm. Not to mention my 2 analogue Canon, one of which is a perfectly working EOS 50E (aka EOS Elan IIE) bought on a flea market, and one of Canon first attempts of introducing eye autofocus. Obviously nothing comparable to the R3 eye autofocus, but I can't look to the R3 without a retro feeling. However if someday I could afford a Canon R5 or R3 (and if I really would need it) I think I would go for the R5 for the kind of photos I do (mainly landscape, urban and Street; plus now trying with still life and product). The eye autofocus intrigues me, but I don't really think I would need it or the R3. And still both are sadly still too expensive for my pockets.
Hey Joy, just started watching your stuff -- love it. That said, I have shot on TONS of cameras and now I have focus my video and photog needs to the C70 and R5. I don't know. Thank you. I really hope you are able to clear this up for me.
Hey Vanessa. As you have used both bodies 1dx mark iii and eos r3.. I am a bit confused because i want to invest in one of these bodies. Each has its own pros n cons. But in terms of color science (bcz that was the reason i switched to 5d mark iv from sony a7iii).. I personally like r3 because of its ease of focus and lesser weight. What about the colors coming out of the camera? And overall image feel. What would you recommend me investing in? Or if i ask if you have to keep one among these two bodies which one would you keep and why :) Thank you so much and your work is really amazing. From pakistan.
