    Wondering about the accuracy of weight measurements. Many scales have a cheat mode where they give the exact same weight when the difference is small and measured within a short time. How about some accuracy testing where you add and remove small weights to check whether it has a cheat mode. Sometimes there is also a difference depending on whether you step on a scale with your left or right foot first.
    Update. I can answer my own question. Just got the scale today and tested it: 1. Measuring multiple times, 2. With and without small weights, 3. Without shoes, shoes only, with shoes. Everything adds up to within the advertized tolerance of 50 grams. Also, weight measured in different parts of the house is the same. Other statistics also are consistent. Impressed now by this scale and keeping it.

I'm deafblind with epilepsy and I have a stammer, but I love running and working out. Its a tossup between these scales and the withings new scales which are just about to come out. Just a question, I have the black scale in this video and was wondering if the titanium rod in my Rt. Tibia, and the bilateral titanium hip replacements I have, would affect this electrical current passage through the body, and thus the accuracy? Great video and you are a lovely lady!

    I'm curious that you said this scale gives almost the same result as the 545.
    Is it that possible only using electrodes on feet? I thought that only measures the bottom part from your body and it is necessary to have electrodes also on hand.
    Is it that near face to face? Because the price goes more than double for the 545 at all, thanks!

    A great review! Does this scale measure also upper body fat/muscles/etc? I've heard an opinion that current usually goes the shortest route from one leg to another so it avoids belly and higher parts. This can be fixed with the scales including hand grip like RD 545. Could you confirm or disagree?

    You having a cold shower does look funny.
    I started having cold showers in 2017. I can’t believe it’s coming up to 4 years since I had a warm shower.
    I haven’t worn a coat or jacket for nearly 3 years. I only wear T-shirt. I will wear long sleeve T-shirts if it’s below 5C if I am outside for over an hour. Otherwise I tend to wear a T-shirt.
    Extremely liberating and it’s like having a super power. Actually, you can feel more and you become hyper aware of slight temperature change.
    Like anything else, do go gung-ho into a freezing shower when you first start, it’s too much of a shock, and traumatise your pleasure centre. Reduced the temperature to tepid or feels cool. Then monthly reduce the temperature down every two weeks. Before long, it will be the lowest temperature setting.

    • @LauraTryUK
      @LauraTryUK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey there, yes, the scales gave a very similar body fat - there was about 0.1% difference which I think is good and does not bother me at all.
      I feel they are pretty accurate based on what I have read about the body and the way to body looks at certain % levels if that makes sense?
      I also compared to a machine I used to use at the gym and also using callipers to measure. It's all within the same bracket, and for me these are the easiest and quickest and I find them very reliable.

      The 945 takes about 5 seconds for all the measurements, including body fat. With these scales, there is no hand hold.

    I'm after a new set of scales and you've made the black set look like must have's! 😊. The 545s would be perfect but I could never justify the price. My thinking is that your comparison of both scales resulting in a 0.1 average difference across the readings would be expected if using the same electronic technology and algorithms. I would have loved to have seen a comparison between the scales and a clinical visit and doctor's or scientist's readings - this would have given a much better take on overall accuracy of the machine. I'm going to have to stop watching you as my Amazon basket is filling as quickly as my bank account is emptying!! 😉

    I purchased the RD 545 and it’s one of the best devices I have purchased for health. I use it about 5 times a week.
    I even began to understand that I do need to eat breakfast in the morning before going for a walk/run, otherwise my body gobbles up my muscle mass.
    Oh BTW, to cut fat and keep muscle, it’s better to go for long walks than run. The difference is only between 5-10% difference.

    The result that my scale would give me would vary on where in the room I placed it. If I moved it just a 10 centimeters from the spot I just got weighted, it would give me up to 2kg difference in weight, which is incredibly annoying as I couldn't celebrate a weight loss if it.would just give me 2kg difference every time Id step om it anyway. Happens with 2 different scales so I imagine it's due to imperfections on the tile floor and it not standing perfectly straight. I'm tempted to get this but Im afraid it would be the same and I'd just wadtw my money...

      I see this comment is a couple of months old but just a question is are you weighing yourself at the same time each day in a similar manner? (As in get up, go to the toilet then weigh yourself each time). Also is the difference that you’re putting it on a hard surface and then a soft one like a carpet or visa versa? The reason I ask is just because I’ve found if I weigh myself at night, I weigh sometimes 1.5kgs more than I do in the morning and soft surfaces tend to make your weight appear less.

    • @Venserql
      @Venserql 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@notthatkindofsam The time of day is not an issue. I would weight myself and it would show a number, then I'd move the scale 2 inches to the side and weigh myself again 5 seconds later and the number would be off by 2kg even tho just a few seconds have passed. It's a hard tile floor, no carpet.
