In today’s video, we are going to talk about if the Fujifilm X-Pro2 is still worth it and why I got one for myself, and hopefully it will help you to decide if you should get one too. We will talk about all the reasons why I got the Fujifilm X-Pro2 instead of the newer cameras, including the Fujifilm X-E4, and why I got the X-Pro2 when I’m already very happy with my Fujifilm X-E2. Let us know what you think in the comment section below. What Fujifilm camera are you using and what is your favourite Fujifilm camera? Thank you so much for watching, and I will see you in the next one.

I've had my XPRO2 now for two years, I got a great deal, I paid $800 and it's in mint condition. Paired with my 35mm f2 WR lens it's the perfect combo. Nice video thanks for posting.

My Xpro2 went into the ocean in the Caribbean and Fuji wanted $800 to repair it so I bought the xpro3. I ended up fixing the camera myself and sold the xpro3 since this one is IMO so much better to shoot with.

I have an X-Pro2 and can't argue with a single point that you made... it a great camera, even in 2021. I bought my X-Pro2 upon the release of the X-Pro3 based on the change to the screen and interface. I grabbed the Pro2 while I could and have never regretted it.
FWIW, I also have an X-E2s which I bought new in the box this year. I like the 16mp sensor for its film-like rendering.

Excellent video. Great observations. Have owned an XPro2 about three years now and it’s still my favorite camera that I’ve ever owned. The image quality, the craftsmanship, the ergonomics and I splurged, the extra two hundred dollars, for the graphite model with matching 23 lens. I still marvel at how beautiful it is. So glad I did that, Like you eluded to…its beauty just makes me want to take it out and use it. I’ve had no desire to “upgrade” whatsoever. Just subscribed and look forward to more videos.

The XPro2 gets me excited to go for a city walk. I use the focus joystick a lot even with my eye to the viewfinder. The extra MP and large viewfinder is a plus for the XPro2 compared to the Xe2. Next, I want to practice shoot more with focus lock mode.

Great video thank you! I am actually in the market, and was contemplating the XE-4, along with the Xpro 3 or the Xpro 2. Was thinking about the X100v but want to have the ability to change lenses down the road, and for around $1200-1400 usd either way (maybe more maybe less...) it just makes more sense to get an interchangable lens camera system. Now with that being said, especially after watching your review, the Xe4 has been ruled out. The Xpro 3 is really out of my price although I was considering it as a new purchase with warranty. But for the casual shooter, I think I will just save up and keep my eyes peeled for the Xpro 2 at a good price. I would like to pair that with the 27mm pancake lens, or another short profile lens to keep the form factor kind of small. Thank you again

Hello, nice video ! thank you for joining the xpro2 gang ^^. if you change the viewmode ( the button near the viewfinder) to viewfinder only, EVF or OVF won't move anymore. you can still use de front lever to change between EVF and OVF. You can review image by pressing the play button in the rear screen, but menu will be displayed in the viewfinder. BTW I own Xpro2 , xe1 ( for vintage lenses) and XT2 ( for my 100-400).

I like the Fujifilm for the shooting experience and the portability of my XE-2 and looking for an X-pro, yet prices are crazy now. I also shoot with a Sony A7IV and love the images and the eye autofocus. With the highest respect, I can't really follow your logic of the sharpness vs softness without feeling that's what you say has an emotional component (attachment to a brand). I just love photography and feel lucky to be able to use the amazing tools we have today.

Got my x-e2s since 2 years ago and since i go it and each time i take a look at it, it makes me go out and make photos. Yesterday i got a x-pro2 instead a x-pro3 (couse the back hidden screen) 800 euros 2nd hand and i guess i did a right choise. X-e2 never disappointed me. Good video. Thanks

I've been thinking of getting an X-PRO camera but not sure yet. I currently shoot with an X100f and the X-T1. I had the X-E3 but missed having a DSLR body and the bigger lenses were way off balance. The color and black and white in my opinion are better from the X-T1 than from the XE-3. Thanks for sharing this video.

It’s March 2nd 2024 as I type this. I am carrying the X-Pro2 with the 33mm and 18mm 1.4. What I previously shot (and still own) are the X-Pro3 and XT-5.
Got the X-Pro 2 brand new about 4 months ago.

I appreciate the review. I've been struggling with do I buy an X-Pro2, X-Pro3, or the X-T4. I'm not too worried about the cost but I'm thinking after seeing this video - would I ever need the additions on the 3 or 4 and does the cost really justify them over the 2? I would be doing primarily quick family and on the spur pics with maybe a few videos so I think I may just go for a used X-Pro2 over the others and then get a nice lens. Thanks!!!

Ya I just acquired my X-Pro2 with in the month and now have 16 f2.8 and 35 f2. I find, you are teach to the converted (me). One of the big things I love is the in camera raw conversion. The other thing I really wanted was the weather sealing (a story of wow and redemption) and the number and range of the Fujifilm lenses with weather sealing. I was looking at getting back into photography and digital photography in a more serious way and for cost the X-Pro2 looked to be a no brainer as it ticked all of the boxes. I would love to have some super raw software on my Linux box but I never take a computer on the road anyway. The only computer I need is my phone with the Xpro-2. From a few of your pictures it appears that you might live in Vancouver, so travel for you is unnecessary as the world comes to you so do you want to sell that 27mm 2.8 wr as it is the perfect lens to wear my camera under my cycling jacket. ;-)

  • @homecareful
    @homecareful ปีที่แล้ว

Nice commentary. You should check out DxO's PureRaw. It takes your Fuji raw file and removes noise, corrects for any optical aberrations, and sharpens. I had the E2 for several years, recently traded it in on the X-T3. But, going back to PureRaw, when you use this ISO makes no difference to you.

There's definitely something to the effect of being drawn to your camera. People somehow forget.. this is art. Maybe not by default, photography in the way one makes when drawn to the XPro in the first place... It's going to be art. So naturally the fact that the camera itself looks like art, it feels like an extension of your intention. The image quality has a similar effect- giving up the Sony style Uber sharp see at night stuff in favor of a bit of character. Makes sense for pros, as you mentioned. Artists? Eh, maybe? There's a reason why painters intentionally lose edges in their work.
Anyway. Great video. I was already leaning towards the x-pro2 after trying the fantastic x-e1 (I'm on Sony A7c currently), and this video kinda made it obvious why it's the right choice. Especially the joystick + two dials + d-pad mention. I didn't even realize and it's soooo good (and rare, lately).
    Great video 🤘

Hi i Henry, thank you for your informative video.
I'm using Sony but wiling to try Fuji as I wish one day to move to the GFX. I'm now looking for a second hand apsc, possibly a small one to keep it with me most of the time. Two questions: 1) when I set B&W mode on the x-e2 do I see a B&W image in the EVF? I mostly do B&W and its fundamental for me to see it while composing; 2) is there a mechanism like Sony's "zebra" to see the overexposed areas in the EVF while shooting photos?
    Thank you!

I agree, I think the X Pro 2 and the XE2S are the best that Fuji has made so far, and I don't see any need for others. They're more film like and do everything I need. I don't like hidden screens or touch screens. I like more customizable buttons, not less. I can do without tilt screens too. The XE4 doesn't turn me on at all ! I got rid of my X Pro 3 and am very happy with my favorites.

Good video. I watched your other one about the XE2 as well. Can I ask for your opinion. I am thinking of going from XE2 to X Pro2 but am the opposite of you in using the EVF. I can't see myself using the OVF at all as I prefer to see what the lens sees. But is the X Pro2 EVF noticeably better (larger, brighter, sharper, better refresh rate) than the XE2? I am not so keen on getting a larger and heavier camera but if the EVF experience is a clear step up then I would do it. Thanks.

The X Pro 2 EVF is smaller with a shorter eye relief. It is higher quality but I prefer the XE2's EVF as I see through it immediately. Being a glasses wearer means having a short eye relief is an issue. When I lift the X Pro 2 to my eye I can't see the full image, it needs moving a bit. For this reason I shoot from the hip more and when I upgrade it will be the XE2 that I keep and the X Pro that is replaced.

I got two XE2, silver and black and also one XE4. I have to respectfully disagree as for built quality. The XE4 is as solid built as the XE4. However I totally agree w. you that the XE2 feels a lot better in your hand. The XE4 is the better and faster camera w. the joystick and in almost any other aspect, but my hands just won't bond to it much. Thanks for your review

I got both cameras and I can tell you that the xpro2 has something special bout colors, xe4 does not get that same magic, I don't know why.
About the buttons and the grip, totally agree, the xe4 es very good looking but... Horrible to use... The lack manual focus switch and the lack of customizable bottoms noes not make sense. I guess this camera is for a mor casual user. Anyway, waiting for the new x100 to see if it can compete with the xpro2, if does I may think about heheh

I am shocked. It was silent fir years: and now, only Fujifilm, Fujifilm, Fujifilm and Fujifilm.
I think Fujifilm will again conquer the world of photography because every time I decide to see anything,I see only Fujifilm, only Fujifilm only Fujifilm.
Love has grown onto me for this camera, as I liked some amazing features here. Now, my next choice is Fujifilm.
But I have seen cameras of Fujifilm are very expensive,in other words, a little costlier. Even then , let me see, in coming years , if I can own one.

I have these two cameras too. Love them both but the X Pro 2 EVF is too small for my eyes (glasses wearer). The slightly bigger XE2 EVF and much longer eye relief is just disappointing i.e. I would expect the newer much more expensive camera to be better.
After using the amazing EVF on the XT3, it's hard to accept the X Pro 2. The X Pro 3 also has a short eye relief but looks bigger. Not sure about the screen though so I will either get the 4 or a used Leica CL next.
The XE3 is a downgrade from the 2 imo and the XE4 looks like a posers toy. They lost the quality of the first two XEs. There is a big rubber grip on etsy for the 4, but it will make the camera feel like a rubbery toy.

4:52 I've always been confused on why anyone would use the joystick for focusing points rather than just lock focus on what you want, then recompose the shot. Am I missing something here? Wouldn't it be much easier to just point the camera to what you want to focus, then move the camera back for composition?? I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't get the reason for focus points
