Hi, I bought the x-pro 2 a month ago and love it. I entered the Fuji world 12 years ago with the x20 and now I had the time to dedicate myself to photography again ... the x-pro 2 is a dream ... Greetings from vienna 🤙🏼

would you buy the x-pro 4 if it basically has the technology of the xt5? Do you think it would lose its x-pro charm?

I would be open to checking it out but I think it would definitely lose its charm a little. Just because that’s been the trend with each new camera and sensor. But yeah I think it would be worth exploring at least

Literally, an hour or so ago, I went into the attic to unbox my X-Pro 2, unbox and reattach the 35mm 1.4, and hold it again. You see, like many others, I joined the hype train with the news of the X100vi and boxed all my older Fuji kit to sell off. New is better, right? Well, I'm not so sure. The X-Pro 2 is the only camera to date to put a genuine smile on my face when heading out to take photos. It has produced some of my favourite images. I have a Sony A7R4 with several decent lenses. It is clinically outstanding but doesn't touch the Fuji for 'feeling' in a photo or for 'feeling' in the photographer when taking a shot. My X-Pro 2 will not be sold! I may still get the X100vi to try it for a few months, safe in the knowledge that reselling it should be fairly easy. Great video. Keep up the good work buddy 👍

Xpro2 is where it's at.Congratulations to your wife. I wouldn't spend the money on a x100v, I own one and the focus is trash. All Hype. Better to buy an older body and lens and spend money on travel. Travel is the only thing you can spend money on to make you richer as a person. Love your channel.

I love using my Xpro2 with XF35f 1.4 and just gotten the 55-200 lens, taking it out for more astro-photography shots this weekend for first time with this new lens.... However, I'm beginning to outgrow this camera after 3 years and wanting a major jump to 60mp+ and an articulate LCD screen for shooting from different angles, but no camera is design like the XPro2...

The X-E3 has the same sensor and processor as the X-Pro2, so if you can’t find a good Pro2 , this one to consider imho, it’s small like the X100 but you have the ability to change lens.

I got the XPro2 new months after it was released, after owning (still do) the X-E1 (my first Fuji back in 2012), then the X-E2S, X100T and the X-T2. The XPro2 like you said is the last great Fuji cameras ever produced. I did buy an X-H1 to pair with my X-T2 for paid work but nothing beats the XPro2 when paired with the OG lenses. It is the one Fuji camera that will never be sold off.

Loved your pics and level-headed sensibility about overall image quality vs high megapixel madness. I still like my even older X-Trans II cameras that only have 16 megapixel sensors. The images really do impart that "film-like" look and my photos look like stills from a classic movie. The 24 megapixel X-Trans III cameras still have a lot of that mojo too!

I just discovered your channel. You're terrific. I'm a retired Fujifilm shooter (x-t5) I also have an x-e3. You are so well spoken: your voice is very easy to listen to, and you are wonderfully articulate. I hope that you would consider doing some videos about slightly more aesthetic issues like, for example, what shooting with one lens (as opposed to a zoom or having several) does for your creative process. I like tech channels, and game channels but many of the youtubers should never be allowed near a microphone no matter how great their expertise. Their voices can be painful to listen to. You are a real exception.

What are your thought's on the X-Pro2 vs the X-T2? Is there much difference in the shooting style? I have an aging X-T1 that's currently having some performance issues and will need replacing some point in the future. I'm thinking whether or not to get a newer X-T series or make the jump to the X-Pro2.

    • @Chazyfizzlez
      @Chazyfizzlez 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@nintendonintendont 99% of the time, I pick up the pro2 over the t2. I use these cameras in my daily carry and prefer the build quality, ergonomics and general shooting experience of the xpro line. Sometimes I feel bad and pick up the t2 because I haven’t shot with it in a while. The big viewfinder is nice on the XT line but the camera ergonomically feels too cramped for me and I like the one handed use of the xpro. The ovf on the xpro and the small “digital range finder focus patch” is a lot of fun when shooting proper manual lenses. Slows you’re shooting experience down and is enjoyable sometimes. When using evf on the pro2, it’s lacking a bit and is much smaller than the t2 so if your vision is bad, might be a struggle. Overall, pro2 feels a bit more inspiring to use and it looks sexy around your neck haha. Both would be big upgrades over the t1. The t3 is probably the sweet spot in performance/features to cost right now but it’s no longer made in Japan. Pro2 is legendary if you ask me for build quality (feels like a brick) and still made in Japan!

As soon as Xt-1 came out I got it and been amazed by it. A couple of months ago I jumped into the band wagon of x100vi and ordered one for 2600 but before it even arrived I looked into he Xpro 2 and fell in love with it. So I ordered one with only 7000 shutter clicks from Japan. The x100vi was delivered and I was amazed by it. Then the xpro-2 arrived and I totally forgot the x100vi. It's been couple of months and I cannot put down the XPRO-2. Yes, it has a distinct quality to its photos. Besides I can change the lenses for gods sake :). Don't get me wrong, the X100vi is superior but for some reason It feels twice as good when I hold the xpro2 in my hands. It's one of those things you can't explain. So I'll be using that and will just keep the x100vi to sell it later on, in 4 or so years later :)

I've been around photography a very long time and I have NEVER seen a camera as much hyped up as the X100V ..... crazy. All these people over-paying for that camera are obviously in-experienced in the photography world or they just want clicks for their social media accounts.

    • @TheBucsAnthem

@FilmedbyFresh Well it's either social media influencers or people who doesn't have a lot of photography experience and then think if they buy this old camera that all of a sudden their photos will look amazing.....but then they get sorely disappointed after they do get it and their photos look average to terrible--------and they all LEARN ONE IMPORTANT LESSON: That it's not the Camera that makes photos great but rather the photographer who controls the process from the beginning to the end= Composition, Camera Settings, Shot, Post Processing. ANYONE can click a button and activate a shutter to take a pic.....but it's photographers that think and apply those 4 aforementioned above that really take it to the next.

Great video and great camera. Got myself the 35mm 1.4 as well though during a recent festival I went to, I found the 18-55 more versatile.
I will probably switch to RAW as the recipes are too complicated for me; I had overexposed pictures and blown out highlights as the recipe was probably for sunny days or just remembered one main setting.
Looking forward to your next video on the X-pro2!

Yeah I need a good zoom lens next, is the 18-55 the best bet?

Your issues with the recipes sounds more like you need to adjust your metering mode more based on the lighting situation

@@CianMcsweeney yeah that is probably it, I shoot Aperture priority and adjust the exposure dial as needed, quick and easy

@@CianMcsweeney I was on full automatic, everything red so hoping I didn’t have to bother but I just need to practice more. The recipe had highlights +4, bringing it back to 0 in X-Raw studio helped.

@@FilmedbyFresh I like it, it’s small and very good IQ. And when I shoot short videos, it has OIS. Clearly better compared to videos shot with the 35mm 1.4, which doesn’t have OIS.

All true! I have owned Xpro's exclusively from 2012 and was very tempted to trade my XP2 for the XP3 when it came out but simply couldn't justify it, and in hindsight I'm pleased I didn't. The XP3 does have qualities I like, particularly the ability to hide the rear screen (which I never use), but that, allied to a few QC issues and the OVF magnification change makes me very pleased I stuck with the XP2. I REALLY hope they get it right with the XP4, although the current manufacturing climate makes me fear for it, unless Fuji makes it a premium product and charges accordingly. 🙂

Dude, I totally get what you mean! It's so tempting to upgrade, but sometimes it's better to stick with what works for you. XP2 for life! But when they drop the XP4 I will be paying attention

The XP is a premium product and that is reflected in the price they demand. There is a new iteration a coming this year. Let’s see what Fuji has planned for us.

“Everyone in the community was disappointed with the X-Pro3” er no, not everyone. I shot the XP2 for years, and the 1 before that, and the XP3 is hands down the better camera, don’t kid yourself. Autofocus that’s instant right across the frame even in bad light (makes that old 35 f1.4 into a better lens), the hidden screen, the bigger and brighter OVF, Classic neg film sim and presets that save the AWB settings for recipes, waist level shooting, wireless that actually works with the new app, and the image quality - with each generation of Fuji there’s always this narrative about the whichever older sensor being better and it’s ALWAYS bs. The fourth gen sensor in the XP3 has notably more dynamic range and a lower base ISO, it’s everything from the XP2 but more so and has the same filmic X-Trans qualities as all their other sensors. Build quality, well it’s covered in titanium and I’ve put that to the test with falls onto concrete that I know would have messed up the x-pro2. The XP3 is tough, literally. Sure the screen cable will probably go some day, and that’s a shame, but you know what? It’s worth it. I’d rather have all the extra capability and just get it repaired once in a while. In short, the X-Pro2 is ok but mediocre, X-Pro3 is the best X-pro they ever made and might well stay that way.

After owning all three x pro’s there is definitely a difference in how each sensor renders an image. But all of those pros you listed are valid, but for what I bought this camera for they are secondary. If I want better dynamic range or fast autofocus I would pick up my A7IV which is technically leagues ahead of even the x-pro 3. With all that said I’m looking forward to whatever the xpro4 will bring if it ever comes out. But until then this xpro2 has the look I want
