I mean going all the way to Apocalypse against the wishes of the Justice League to recover his son's corpse and bring him back to life (all the while looking amazing in the Hellbat suit which puts his own life at risk and fighting Darksied and his army) I feel should've made the list.
I would say Batman's coldness depends on the continuity. I'm reminded of the Justice League unlimited episode where he comforts a dying child. It's a touching moment and indicative that his heroism isn't just taking down villains. Obviously some writers will use Batman differently in a story to contrast him with other characters. A lot of Nightwing stories are like this. They'll show Batman as a very cold and calculating character to contrast him with Nightwing, who's known to be very jubilant, high-energy, and compassionate. Nothing wrong with adapting a character differently depending on the medium, but it definitely hurts the idea that there's just one version of Batman instead of the dozens of adaptations we've gotten.
I believe that episode was "Epilogue", which served as an official closing to Batman Beyond and was originally meant to be the series finale to Justice League Unlimited. But yes, I do remember that episode well, especially for how it showed why the DCAU version of Batman was the definitive one for so many fans. While Batman is cold and seemingly lacking in humanity, this showed that he is the most human out of all the heroes, something that Amanda Waller saw. My second favorite is a scene in Young Justice when the Justice League is voting on new members and Wonder Woman calls out Batman for bringing Dick Grayson into the crime fighting world, which Batman has the best line: Wonder Woman: "So that he could turn out like you?" Batman: "So that he wouldn't."
Yeah they mostly do it with Red hood ones Now don't hate Red hood or his motivation I understand where he comes from But what I dislike is those specific Red hood fans whose sole argument is bashing Batman's no kill ideology Like boy Red Hood only work as a contrast to Batman cause of the no kill rule Otherwise presenting a Red Hood without Batman as a contrast is very difficult to make and writers tend to make him more edgy to compensate when Batman isn't in the picture Red Hood over time came to realise he is wrong in what he is doing but he knows somebody has to do what Batman doesn't do Just like how Batman's does his crusade cause he knows that somebody has to do it Also the reason Red hood doesn't go insane or bloodthirsty is because he knows what he does is wrong (the method) but that somebody's gotta do it which is somewhat of a sacrifice in itself If Batman starts to kill along with his immense fear in both criminals and people (due to media's portrayal of him) Gotham's police would give their 100% to subdue or most likely kill him although they wouldn't be successful but still he would be on the highest priority to be caught or eliminated Not to mention then all the corrupted individuals and assassins would be hired alongside to end him as well While Red Hood isn't exactly feared like he would kill/end you but not exactly feared like Batman So Even if he kills criminals he isn't prioritised and left off by the police cause he only kills criminals whom to Red hood seems unforgivable/who can't change for the better in his eyes So yeah if Red hood does it , the most worried person about him is Batman cause he knows what he is doing and how he is feeling and giving in to his vengeance Which Batman has to deal with daily basis Not to mention what it can do to Red hood mentally/emotionally even if it's for the good he thinks is correct But if Batman does it Everyone would lose their sh#t and would try their hardest to stop him/end him
Just noticed at 7:48 when they're falling how Batman goes from trying to kick his son's ass, directly to grabbing Damien to protect him and taking the brunt of the fall himself. It's cute, in an odd way
The entirety of the Wayne Family adventures comic could fill up this entire video if you let it, it has a lot of really nice moments between Bruce and his children.
@@violet7092 I don't understand how it can be fanon when it's literally an official DC project. I would understand people calling it fanon if it were just a fan project, but it is a legitimate work by DC writers and artists. The story is set in a different universe. There are numerous universes where the batfamily are their usual serious selves. Just because it is a webtoon or the fact the batfamily are acting happy does not make it any less canon
@@maramarie17 Probably, the creators do not want to grieve the old fans the way they did with the creators of "Ultimate Spider-Man". In this animated series, Spidey had dozens of friends, Avengers mentors, protection in S.H.I.E.L.D., and even a brother. But fans declared this cartoon an outrage against the canon, because Spidey is happy there and hasn’t lost anyone since Uncle Ben. People are simply afraid to take risks... That’s why people from DC, tired of writing about martyrs, became so secretive. So that haters don't come near them. What is allowed to the fans is not allowed to the creators. But who says a creator can't be a fan?😂
Batman show’s his affection differently, even with Catwoman ,who he canonically loves, he’s not all that expressive and instead shows his love by his willingness to protect others. He’s the kind of person who doesn’t care about what others think of him, he only wants people to be safe and protected. The way he does this is by giving his children the tools they need to be successful in life. He really does care but sometimes his logic can cause him to overlook emotions and mental health especially his own. I like to think that there where more sweet moments with him and his family we just don’t see it because it doesn’t have anything to do with the plot. ^^
Yea but he lost his parents at a young age an wanted revenge he become a symbol of fear for the criminals his methods was to beat them so bad that they wish they was dead he’s literally fighting himself everyday to not kill an turn out like the people who kill his parents he’s a very dark complex character but his kids is his light an with out them he probably would of fell off the deep rails
Which is why it hit him the most in the Injustice video game when Damien accidentally killed Dick and Bruce ended up disowning Damien after that as well as Damien killing criminals even though it is against the Batman code and this is made all the more obvious when he says to Damien after fighting him in the first game you're dead to me
@@agente9988 they both lost their parents at 8 years old..... They are more often than not used as foil characters of one another they understand each other in a way noone else does
Media asks Bruce who his favorite child Is Bruce : I don't play favorites I love my sons equally I have 4 boys all very different from eachother it's an interesting dynamic Media: how so? Bruce: well Damien and Tim probably will never actually get along they more tolerate eachother. Jason is the rebellious one he usually does the opposite of what you tell him and Dick Is the peace keeper but sometimes even he has to get rough Damien will never admit he can't beat him in a fight even though being smaller by a decent amount Damien will still lose the fight. Media: that sounds like a mad house Bruce: I'm amazed the house is still standing actually Media: So who's the favorite ? Bruce: fine my oldest son is he's the least rebellious, he doesn't go to a dinner party packing knives and is a good problem solver All 4 boys watch the interview Damien: I totally called it not exactly a secret Jason: hey bet I'm second favorite I'm 2nd oldest Tim: his logic is sound but not yours Jason Dick: yup I'm the oldest and best of the bunch Damien Jason and Tim dogpile on Dick and the furniture starts falling as the 4 wrestle
A missing moment from this list is from the webtoons comic where Batman routinely misses Cassandra's ballerina performance because he was fighting crime so the next day he bought out the venue to be there for his adoptive daughter's performance it's a very nice moment
My favourite Robin moment is when Damian finds one of Martha's pearls after spending months of his free nights looking for it and gives it to Bruce, as this is one of the only moments that Damian shows his love for Bruce
Some things you forgot to mention about the last Damian Wayne one, is that Damian himself initiated the fight and Bruce was even going easy on him, I mean, it's Batman. Does anyone seriously believe a little kid could be beating his ass this badly while he's going all out? And there's also the fact that Bruce shielded Damian with his body in the fall and Damian just got back up and immediately went back to beating on Bruce
@@dianahi2663 well that’s because Damian is/was everything he would’ve been if it weren’t for that one bad night. Ie: A spoiled brat too eager to inherit his family‘s legacy and not used to hearing the word no. While his older children had some form of humility therefore were able to listen to reason rather than a ninjitsu form of corporal punishment.
I think it's actually believable Damian can give Bruce a run for his money from time to time. He is basically what would have happened if Bruce was never a child and he started his batman training from the day he was born. Bruce only surpasses Damian in experience and the physical strength which can only come from age.
Awww these are extremely sweet I personally also like when Jason Todd is sick and Batman stays home with him and watches movies a great father and son moment
Y'know, they really got me with the thumbnail. I don't know if it's a fanfic or from an actual comic but man... seeing all four of Bruce's kids sleeping on him while Bruce says happy Father's Day to Alfred just stole every bit of my heart, it was so cute. Also, seeing Jason sleeping at the bottom on Bruce's leg made me laugh for some reason.
There’s also: Him arranging for him to see Cassandra Cain’s ballerina performance because he missed it before. Saving Damian when they were falling AND still fighting each other. Him apologizing to Damian in that whole nightmare scene. Him allowing Damian to figure himself out and that seriously adorable hug. The utter sadness he showed when Damian died saving him. Him breaking down over Nightwing’s death in Injustice. Him choosing to save Jason over capturing the Joker in Under The Red Hood just before the bomb went off. He was only worried about saving his son at that moment. Hell he went darker and more violent after Jason’s death. So much so Tim needed to pull him out of it.
That scene in Harley Quinn was possibly the funniest moment in that entire series. Not because Batman’s being a good father, but because Damien’s response to Bats telling him about when he got his first nemesis was “When can I start having s3x?”
You forgot Batman also has a DAUGHTER! Cassandra Cain was officially adopted by Bruce. That's canon in the current timeline. And they've had loads of precious daddy-daughter moments in the comics. It's not a stretch to say that Bruce is incredibly protective of Cass and would even go so far as to say she's his favourite of all his children. Bruce even admitted to her that while the others have his trust, Cassandra has his faith!
I genuinely wish that writers of Batman would stop making him reject everyone out of hand the minute emotions are brought up. I don't want them to completely break his character, but seriously, we know he loves his kids, you could stand to SHOW us that he loves his kids a bit more often.
We need more small moments like this where Batman goes "out of character" to put his mission aside to show his good human side. Him being just acting like an emotionless twat 24/7 can get a bit tired.
@@DonalMcGreal9349 Sadly thanks to live action Batman movies, good majority thinks he is nothing but an emotionless billionare brute, lack of robins in them made most people think that Batman doesn't need them, which isn't true. I do hope these Pattison movies do the character justice finally.
@@CaseyRedgrave Also, plenty of comic writers have taken his stoic, closed-off demeanour and written it to the point where he’s miserable, angry and confrontational all the time.
It is actually confirmed by the HQTAS creators that First Nemesis is actually an allegory for first crush/girlfriend Batman is actually helping Damien go trough his first heart break
The context for the panel at 0:59 is that he wants to remove one of Dick's teeth, which has a Court of Owls sigil on it, demonstrating that they had his eye on him as a future Talon.
He could do it without his fists. I'm glad that dentists don't find this way proper for removing teeth. I found this moment in the comic disgusting. I get that Bruce sees Dick more like a soldier than a son but that was one of the reason why there's actual fanbase wishing for Bruce getting CPS on his head
@@margo24pol I read that and literally thought “What the hell, Bruce?” I thought it was a character flaw to make him more arrogant to prove that he can do some things like but even that feels out of character.
I'm not sure of the issue, and I don't know if it counts - But there's a touching moment in a comic series when Bruce Wayne comforts Grayson when he's having nightmares after his parents die. I think it may be in the Nightwing series
0:14 though in some versions the costume was a modified version of the suit that Dick Grayson wore when he was part of the flying Grayson's act and Dick says that he wanted to honour his parents by wearing it
I love the hug Damien and Bruce share at the end of Batman vs Robin. Bruce grabbing Damien in the middle of their fight to protect him from the fall is also a favorite. Especially since they immediately start fighting again. It’s sums up their relationship so well.
I honestly feel really bad for Jason, even after all the stuff he had to go through his happiest memory is still just him and his father at home even if their relationship is strained now
My favorite one is when batman stayed home with Jason cuz the one thing that is important to batman is the mission and batman take a break for he's son that's kindest or sweetings thing that batman ever did to his son's
To be fair, there’s much worse parents than Batman. At least Batman legitimately does care for all of his surrogate and biological children. Don’t get me wrong he’s not perfect but considering how mentally scarred Batman is, he definitely could’ve turned out a lot worse.
Agree, he loves them in his own way that while not perfect is not entirely wrong. I mean the whole reason to their his sidekicks is becouse he knows they will go out anyway to seek revenge. So why not direct that rage and angry towards good and give them a chance to succeeded
To be fair to batman his parents died when he was pretty young so he wouldn't exactly know what good parenting looks like Secondly parenting is hard even if you theoretically knew how to do it right
We really need more stories like these. Batman is a good father who values his family more than himself. I wish we'd get to see them all have a good time, the whole family.
I say that there are more moments that show bruce Wayne does care about his children in the WEBTOON batman Wayne family adventures, for example he gets a moment where he acknowledges that he spends too much time crime fighting and misses Cassandra’s ballet show. He promptly asks Alfred for advice and apologizes to Cassandra about it
YES!!! Loved that so so much. Mostly because it's clear that Cassie was never even upset with Bruce. She understands why he couldn't make it. After all, out of all his children, Cassandra is the only one whose drive and dedication to protecting people rivals his own. She'd never blame him for choosing to save lives over watching her ballet performance. She was more worried about Bruce feeling bad about the whole thing.
Seeing as Jason Todd doesn't seem to exist in the DCAU, I think it would have been interesting if Tim Drake went on to become that universe's equivalent of the Red Hood seeing as his fate is a reimagining of Death in the Family and he had already crossed that line when he shot the Joker on top of Joker's brainwashing taking hold as he got older.
Actually there's a twist. When The Return of the Joker came out Red Hood was not even in plans. But! Technically Tim Drake of the BTAS/DCAU was Jason Todd. He had Jason's back story and actually Jason's both pre-crisis and post-crisis personality. May be something from Tim's personality sprinkled in (Tim does not smoke while Jason used to). Most people seem to forget that Jason was quite a bright kid, cannonically, he is smarter than Dick, but less smarter than Tim or Damian. Even as Red Hood he was quite the clever, strategic, ahead planning, cunning, manipulative guy. Somehow the internet made him into just a reckless gun-blazing idiot. Now, there's a twist #2. Now the BTAS has a Jason Todd/Red Hood, but he is just an other guy with someone's name slapped on him. He only has Jason's violent tendencies but in such extreme ways he is overdoing Red Hood's. But, I guess, that what you get when you already have a Jason Todd, who does not stand out.
In one of the comics, Catwoman reveals to Dick that the reason the Robin suit is actually so colorful isn't too attract more attention as he tells them, but actually so that the villains, especially Joker, take them less seriously or even see them a joke and won't kill them given the chance hopefully. Didn't work for Jason... but ya know /shrug
@@VuMinhThuFPLHN They all sneak out. Every single robin in the start of their crimefighting career goes against Bruce's orders to stay at home. He decides their safer fighting crime with him and being trained to do it than going out on their own and getting shot by a random mugger because they're not equipped to fight crime.
I think these kind of moments are incredibly important to Batman as a character. Sure some people really like the overy edgy and dark take on Batman but personally I like it when my Batman can be moody but still feel like a human being. He still cares for his kids and he still yearns for a relationship but he tends to get to carried away with his mission.
My favorite version of the Bat Family is the newish WEBTOON, Batman: Wayne Family Adventures. In it we get to see not only the kids being siblings, but Batman also doing his best to be a good father to his five plus kids. My favorite moment was when he missed Casandra’s ballet recital, and is tempted to mope and avoid her, but after a little encouragement from Alfred, he apologizes, says that he can’t be perfect but he can and will do better because she is important to him, and proceeds to rent out the w tire theater just so he could watch her performance.
That scene was EVERYTHING!! I love how Cassie doesn't even hesitate to hug Bruce after he's done apologizing. It shows she wasn't even upset about the whole thing, because she understands why he couldn't make it.
@@jeramahia123 I love this comic for showing interactions we normally wouldn’t get in the mainstream comics, and seeing Bruce/Batman openly love and support his kids is one of them. That and the kids arguing over who gets to fight the lame super villains 😂
I'd also mention Red Robin #17 when the newly reinstated Batman teases Tim about having his own Selena Kyle, takes off his cowl so he can hug his son and see his face, and convinces him to patrol with him so they could "have some fun", just Batman and his Robin, like old times. I loved that scene.
Personally, there are several parts 1) in the comics, Damian just moves in and yet has a hard time controlling himself to not kill so Bruce gets on his case. While Damian is using the training equipment, Bruce confesses to Alfred his fear of failing Damian (Alfred also shows himself to be a good father figure by reminding Bruce that he's to be a father to Damian, not mechanic) 2) Same issue, Bruce sees Damian's sketch book where it's showing him killing various villians in brutal ways and he realizes how much rage Damian was holding in and vowed to not fail his son. 3) Ending of said issue, Damian and Bruce just playing catch with Titus before the batsignal goes up 4) Bruce telling Damian he's proud of him and them hugging. And this might not count but when Bruce is chasing Ras who has Damian and Talia's bodies. He's banging on Ras' window pane to his jet while screaming "Give me back my son!"
For me it's the moment when Batman advises Damien about a monastary that helped him when he needed it. He doesn't say go there, he just suggests it and understands that Damien needs time to sort out who he is and what he needs to do. The two embrace and Damien leaves.
Batman and Rick Sanchez have that in common they can be ass to their sidekicks of course if you compare Rick and the way Rick treat his grandson to the way Batman treat his Robins compared to Rick Batman is the father of the year
In batman badblood after the fight with talia, bruce and damien have a short scene of father and son talking because after that fight damien feel like his mother just love him like a perfect tool not like a son and that moment is the time he needs his father most and bruce was there
Or the time he fought Darkseid for Damien, or the time he left KGBeast for dead when KGBeast shot Nightwing in the head, or how sad he was when he found out Tim wanted to give up being a superhero to go to college and that he wasn't able to save him, or adopting Cassandra, or sitting with Jason during recovery after Joker sabotaged his helmet, or the time he fought desperately to save Jason from Mr. Fries because he didn't want to lose him again, (same story also revealed his happiest thought would be killing Joker with Jason ultimately avenging his death) or in fear state, when Nightwing is ambushed, Bruce saves him and says he has no plans to lose his son, (referring to Nightwing) or when he explains that even though he only took Grayson in as ward, he was still a son to him, oh and even though Barbara isn't his kid, his first reaction to Joker shooting her is to kill Joker, which Jim talks him out of. (or not, we still don't know tbh) He's actually a pretty good dad tbh, the time where he isn't are 9/10 from writers who don't understand Batman.
I really loved the scene in the injustice movie when Nightwing died and bruve starting punching till his hands started bleeding, crying until cat woman stopped hiö, it really showed how much he cared bout dick grayson
I believe in most versions, Batman is a good father. He's had some great moments as a father figure. But some of his actions (like beating the absolute hell out of Jason in RHatO #25) really make it hard to believe that sometimes.
If you have never wanted to beat your kids can you really be a parent? (Kidding, but sometimes they do make you really mad when they do incredibly dangerous or stupid things)
@@futoijoseiread comic before say anything stupid, flat brain? Batman once cut Jason's throat by a baratang to save joker. I think it would be great if these five different versions of (Bruce Wayne) aka Batman, who are able to be really good fathers, to have each one of them appear in a cartoon series someday, and show what each version of them look like as well, and to add what realms’s each one is from.
As soon as I saw this video in my notifications I instantly assumed it was about Screenrant’s article claiming that Deathstroke of all people is a better father
one of my fav moments is after death of the family when todd was poisoned by the gas the joker left in his helmet. after that bruce sitting beside jason's bed worrying for him. then, after jason woke up, hugged him
I think the best moments of Batman caring are from the official WEBTOON Comic Batman: Wayne Family Adventures which shows that Batman/Bruce does care about his kids
I love that series so much. I hope its popularity will show the editors at DC that we want less brooding asshole Batman and more healing healthy Batdad! Also, finally acknowledging Cassandra is Bruce's daughter.
I think my favorite is between when he stays home to spend time with Jason, and when he dons the Hellbat Suit to bring Damien’s body from Apokolips, having to duke it out with Darkseid in the process, and winning. Only for Damien to be resurrected and have powers for some time lol
Don’t forget when Terry McGinnis had his own version of Catwoman. He came to Bruce, apologized, and asked if Bruce ever had this happen before. You see Bruce smile, almost like “Want the list in alphabetical or chronological order?” Terry McGinnis IS Bruce’s clone/son though Bruce does not know it.
I always liked the "I'm proud of you" moment from Arkham Knight, he doesn't say it enough but when he thinks he's going to die he makes sure to say it to Nightwing
Dick is his golden child. The one he is always proud of. Though people tend to say Dick is the favourite, I think it's actually Jason who is the real favourite child. Batman has a no-kill rule for himself and his children which Jason constantly breaks but he gets forgiven all the time. Plus out of all the batkids, he's the one to call him dad whether serious or in a joking manner. (Damian may call him father but when Bruce is not around the little gremlin addresses him by first name) Damian is his biological child but he's more emotionally attached to Dick and Alfred because they were the first ones to welcome and show him kindness. Hence when Alfred died he went back to his old ways and eventually left the family.
Great video! Nice to see you mentioned Young Justice’s new episodes; I hope you will make more YJ videos in the future - missed your Young Justice videos.
From what I understand he never forced any of the Robins to be “Robin”, either they asked, went out on their own, or he gave them the option, but he never made they do so
I think in a weird way, Batman knows exactly how “bad” he is as a father, and it’s intentional. Bruce is a messed up individual, one he’s stated in the past nobody should model themselves after. He wants to give these kids the best life he can, and so he thinks the best thing to do is to stay out of it. He knows the kids that come through his life turn out right (except Jason which he has still not forgiven himself for), and he understands if he really let them in a lot of bad things could happen. They might realize that the Batman, the hero they look up to as a father, is a miserable wreck. They might lose faith in humanity, seeing that their scarred, broken father has to continue to fight every day to keep an ungrateful public safe. Batman gives them everything they need that he thinks he cannot provide. He knows Alfred is what allowed him to heal to the extent he has, even if he knows at heart he’s still far from healthy. He knows that for many of his wards a routine of exercise, mental training, and engineering will leave them stronger and safer than anyone else in Gotham as well as anywhere else in the world. While the Robin’s certainly do get their asses handed to them from time to time, Batman when in control always is either there as a safety net or has determined (usually correctly as the world’s greatest detective) that the Robins will be capable of completing the mission. The other big part of Batman that we all need to remember is that he might be terrible with people socially but he can read anyone like a book. If Batman genuinely thought a Robin needed to stop, he’d step in. As well, when Batman sees it necessary to connect and show in a more traditional manner to a Robin that he cares about them more than himself, he does. He’s not beyond doing so, and we know for a fact that he’s capable of playing any part due to his identity as Bruce Wayne. Batman likely could at any time fake being a helicopter papa, but I think the fact he doesn’t is almost more powerful in a way, as he doesn’t hide who he is from his children. Overall, I don’t know if I’d call Batman a bad dad. In a traditional western sense, he’s not too engaged externally with his kids often, but internally I think he wants to keep a degree of separation, not for himself, but for his sons and daughters. Batman is a guy who gets the shit kicked out him regularly, has to disappear into different worlds and dimensions for months at a time, and has a tendency to find himself in a constant state of struggle. Would any father want his kids to live through that, or idolize that behavior? There are options Batman could take to remedy this, but in doing so he leaves the city his children live in, and countless other children, in a more dangerous situation. I think Batman is the best dad he can be in this situation, and while that’s not always enough, nothing ever is.
I think that Tim Drake's death in Injustice should've been here. It was really sad. "Maybe when all this is done, we can be Batman and Robin again, huh, Bruce?" *Subsequently gets laser visioned by Zodd*.
My favorite father moment had to be from Batman and Robin issue 40. If I remember correctly, it's some time after Robin supposedly died, and Batman had to go through hell(Apocalypse) to get him back. After he is revived, Damian goes through several stages of recovery, even getting superpowers. In issue 40, Damian losses his powers, and is finally himself again. At the end of the issue, we get this cool shot of the dynamic duo flying over Gotham. But the best part is when Damian turns and sees Batman is smiling again.
Personally I think the 60s Batman and robin have the best relationship because of how they speak to one another you can tell there’s a good amount of respect on both sides Robin really looks up to Batman in this version I think Batman genuinely likes having him around and cares about him
Oh definitely considering the New 52 and various other continuities now go with the idea that Alfred was originally a secret agent before becoming the Wayne family Butler
He understood their pain, having lost his own parents when he was around 8. He knows every pain of they went through because he knows loss and knows what happens if they got on in the wrong direction
Did anyone not see the last one where Batman and Damian are fighting, but while they were falling, Bruce clutched Damian close so he wouldn't get as hurt :(
In Batman TAS Robin's Reckoning part 2, Bruce reveals to Dick that the reason he didn't want him to go after the man that killed his parents is because he didn't want him to cross the line and never come back from it. He fought the guy on his own while injured. Dick, eventually, goes after the guy, but stops and helps Bruce instead. Actually, that two parter had quite a few bonding moments between Dick Grayson and Bruce Wayne.
Batman literally is perfected well written A man siding and forming with a team that really is out of his league seeing how he is Man Made a human But a human to even battle through obstacles that a human wouldn't even survive or crossed paths through many Hardships and struggles his moral Code His will of justice speculates how he isn't just a human given how his been pushing himself further without any rest or vulnerability and that is haunting given how dangerous Batman can really be.
Honestly Batman should just randomize one night a week or every other week that he takes off to have family time with his bat family. Just ask like Superman to watch for the night or something or a green lantern or just even make a bat drone that stops criminals for a night so that he has family time and can relax
Batman doesn't let his Robins dress in bright colours to attract attention . he let Richard Grayson dress in bright colours because those were the colours of the flying Graysons and Batman let Richard wear these colours to honour his parents , as for why he lets the other Robins where bright colours , well he gives them a choice of what colours they want and they choose to classic Robin colours because Richard Grayson made them iconic for the mantle of Robin .

Otherwise presenting a Red Hood without Batman as a contrast is very difficult to make and writers tend to make him more edgy to compensate when Batman isn't in the picture
Red Hood over time came to realise he is wrong in what he is doing but he knows somebody has to do what Batman doesn't do
Just like how Batman's does his crusade cause he knows that somebody has to do it
Also the reason Red hood doesn't go insane or bloodthirsty is because he knows what he does is wrong (the method) but that somebody's gotta do it which is somewhat of a sacrifice in itself
If Batman starts to kill along with his immense fear in both criminals and people (due to media's portrayal of him)
Gotham's police would give their 100% to subdue or most likely kill him although they wouldn't be successful but still he would be on the highest priority to be caught or eliminated
Not to mention then all the corrupted individuals and assassins would be hired alongside to end him as well
While Red Hood isn't exactly feared like he would kill/end you but not exactly feared like Batman
So Even if he kills criminals he isn't prioritised and left off by the police cause he only kills criminals whom to Red hood seems unforgivable/who can't change for the better in his eyes
So yeah if Red hood does it , the most worried person about him is Batman cause he knows what he is doing and how he is feeling and giving in to his vengeance
Which Batman has to deal with daily basis
Not to mention what it can do to Red hood mentally/emotionally even if it's for the good he thinks is correct
But if Batman does it
Everyone would lose their sh#t
and would try their hardest to stop him/end him
That scene is quite literally my favorite batman moment.

It does but it’s closer to fanon than canon
Your exactly right, their are more sweet moments, but thing is we have seen some of those moments, mostly in comics universe
You see a lot of his sweet moments in Batman: The Animated series and Justice League. That's the version of Batman I love the most.

Let’s all remember that Dick is not only Batman’s greatest success but his favourite son.

Bruce : I don't play favorites I love my sons equally I have 4 boys all very different from eachother it's an interesting dynamic

Tim: his logic is sound but not yours Jason
Dick: yup I'm the oldest and best of the bunch

And there's also the fact that Bruce shielded Damian with his body in the fall and Damian just got back up and immediately went back to beating on Bruce

But, I guess, that what you get when you already have a Jason Todd, who does not stand out.
jason exist actually
In one of the comics, Catwoman reveals to Dick that the reason the Robin suit is actually so colorful isn't too attract more attention as he tells them, but actually so that the villains, especially Joker, take them less seriously or even see them a joke and won't kill them given the chance hopefully. Didn't work for Jason... but ya know /shrug
If batman doesn't want the kids are killed by criminals, all he has to do is keeping them stay at home
I think more often than not Batman being a bad father is more a case of bad writing than the writers intentionally making him awful
I love when Batman actually cares for his children!!
When we needed him most, the legend returned
I'd also mention Red Robin #17 when the newly reinstated Batman teases Tim about having his own Selena Kyle, takes off his cowl so he can hug his son and see his face, and convinces him to patrol with him so they could "have some fun", just Batman and his Robin, like old times. I loved that scene.
Personally, there are several parts
1) in the comics, Damian just moves in and yet has a hard time controlling himself to not kill so Bruce gets on his case. While Damian is using the training equipment, Bruce confesses to Alfred his fear of failing Damian (Alfred also shows himself to be a good father figure by reminding Bruce that he's to be a father to Damian, not mechanic)
2) Same issue, Bruce sees Damian's sketch book where it's showing him killing various villians in brutal ways and he realizes how much rage Damian was holding in and vowed to not fail his son.
3) Ending of said issue, Damian and Bruce just playing catch with Titus before the batsignal goes up
4) Bruce telling Damian he's proud of him and them hugging.
Yeah, Batman can be an ass towards his robins, but he very much cares about them.
He’s training them not raising them to be regular kids i wish robin fans would stop bitching

(Damian may call him father but when Bruce is not around the little gremlin addresses him by first name)
Damian is his biological child but he's more emotionally attached to Dick and Alfred because they were the first ones to welcome and show him kindness. Hence when Alfred died he went back to his old ways and eventually left the family.
Although Batman might not be considered the best father at certain times, wholesome moments like these make up for it.

Personally I think the 60s Batman and robin have the best relationship because of how they speak to one another you can tell there’s a good amount of respect on both sides Robin really looks up to Batman in this version I think Batman genuinely likes having him around and cares about him
WHEN YOU REALISE THAT DEATHSTROKE & CLINT BARTON HAVE MORE GOOD MOMENTS OF FATHERHOOD THAN BATMAN
The fact that there’s even one entry on this list is astounding.
My favorite one was Batman staying home with Jason too.
BATMAN STAYING AT HOME TO BE THERE FOR JASON TODD IS SO KIND, AND TOUCHING BETWEEN THE TWO.
5 Time Alfred was a Badass
Oh definitely considering the New 52 and various other continuities now go with the idea that Alfred was originally a secret agent before becoming the Wayne family Butler
Number 1 would be him beating the hell out of superman, best alfred moment
@@BoneChill8902 His truly the best Butler of all time
We can all agree ttg alfred is the most badass alfred in dc multiverse
To be fair, three of those kids FORCED their way onto the team and the first wanted the job
Remember, Bruce doesn’t want his children to be like them, he wants them to better than him
He understood their pain, having lost his own parents when he was around 8. He knows every pain of they went through because he knows loss and knows what happens if they got on in the wrong direction
2:01
The people that get killed that day: 👁 👄 👁
Well, is not his fault that GPCD cant do his fucking job
Did anyone not see the last one where Batman and Damian are fighting, but while they were falling, Bruce clutched Damian close so he wouldn't get as hurt :(
3:05 This is actually hilarious
To be fair Batman *is* a diagnosed sociopath, so it's kinda hard for him to connect with people on an emotional level.
@borderlands10 he is!? That's both surprising and unsurprising
5:10 BRO HE DID WHAT????
Let’s just say the creator of the animated series had some weird taste. In all honesty I really don’t know why he shipped Batman and Batgirl so much
I think the best moment honestly is when he calls in a meeting of the entire Batfamily because he wanted to take a family photo together.
Batman literally is perfected well written
A man siding and forming with a team that really is out of his league seeing how he is Man Made a human
But a human to even battle through obstacles that a human wouldn't even survive or crossed paths through many Hardships and struggles his moral Code
His will of justice speculates how he isn't just a human given how his been pushing himself further without any rest or vulnerability and that is haunting given how dangerous Batman can really be.
My favourite was in Red Hood And The Outlaws 2016 issue 6, when bruce and jason share some burgers.
Put respect on Batman’s name.
‘A rare case of actually understanding human beings’
The part where Jason Todd was sick and batman watched movies with him was my fave
My personal favorite Father-son moment between Batman and a Robin was when Bruce adopted Tim at the end of Batman/Two-Face: Face the Face
8:21 iron man 3 be like
THAT'S WHAT IM SAYING
i was just wondering when you were going to upload. awesome timing :D
Alfred still the true father to all of them, including Bruce❤️
This comment is underrated
Def should do a part 2 this was great and wholesome
Honestly Batman should just randomize one night a week or every other week that he takes off to have family time with his bat family. Just ask like Superman to watch for the night or something or a green lantern or just even make a bat drone that stops criminals for a night so that he has family time and can relax
I’ve been waiting for SO LONG!!!
