      Nobody is putting Jason up.
In fact, everybody all puts Batman up, even when Batman is clearly in the wrong.
One primary example, was in Justice League: Tower of Babel.
Batman was clearly wrong in that story, yet everybody mostly defended Batman. Only a few people realised how wrong Batman was.

another neat thing about my boy, in the comics, Jason initially went after Joker in Ethiopia because of his biological mother, who sold him out. After the beating, Jason even tries to save his mother from the explosion.

Despite everything Jason went through (seriously, even in the comics he's had it worse than Batman (f it, pretty much the whole bat family) from Birth to his death and then resurrection. In Arkham it just turns this pain up to 11 talking about JASONS own pain), he is sane enough to kill ONLY does who need to be killed and spare those who don't need to be pit out of their misery

Only thing I wanna say about this is Batman did actually try and do something about it, both in the comics and in the game. He spent a VERY long time searching for Jason. He was also pissed the fuck off and was being way more brutal to the criminals, it got to the point that Tim Drake noticed this, tracked down Batman and figured out who he was and convinced him to take him as a Robin because he needed someone to help level him out. Bruce had actually sworn off taking robins or sidekicks at all after Jason died. But Bruce gave up his search after receiving that tape from Joker “killing” Jason. Jason was also fed a lot of lies about what had gone down by Joker and such. Edit: Side note. Bruce actually later tracked down Joker and beat him near death, but couldn’t finish the job because that was exactly what joker wanted him to do, break his code and prove Joker’s “one bad day” theory correct.

@@BdDreaEMD He didn’t “allow” Jason to get captured. Jason got himself captured by not listening to Bruce. Bruce took Jason off of Robin duty and made him stay home. Bruce then tracked Joker down to Israel where he was getting a nuke, Jason snuck onto a plane there to find his real mom. Because he found out she lived there. Joker found Jason, used his mom to capture him and then he set up a bomb to kill the kid and his mom. Bruce didn’t even find out until it was already too late, Bruce was given an ultimatum of either stopping the nuke or saving Jason. Bruce was able to stop the nuke quickly, but didn’t have enough time to save Jason so when he got there the bomb went off. In the comics it’s largely the same, just without the nuke or bomb in Israel, and with joker just straight up hiding Jason in Arkham for a year while Bruce was searching around looking for him and nearly killing any random criminal who MIGHT know something.

But as Robin, compared to other robins, Jason was actually going too hard on bad guys, which he was reprimanded for. Mind you, Jason had the roughest life out of the main 4, he was caught by Batman while trying to steal tires from the Batmobile.

I'm given to understand that prior to one of DC's many continuity revisions, the original reason Jason Todd was resurrected was because...and let me be clear that I have a very tenuous grasp on what the following sentence even means...because Superboy Prime (not really sure who that is) "punched reality" so hard (not really sure what that means) that it brought Jason back to life. Or something. If you already knew about this,I do not blame you for choosing not to mention it. The Lazarus Pit explanation that we were given later on is WAY more in keeping with Batman's corner of the DC Universe. Way less stupid and insane, too.

It literally does not matter if a character is merciful because their compassionate or a coward or they want their villains punished by the people, nor does it matter if a character kills because they're defending people or because their indulging themselves by punishing others. Nothing they do really changes anything for long.
Red Hood is a prime example of this because he constantly flip flops between killing and not killing, anti-hero and straight up villain, and in all that change, he never does anything that lasts.
Even in this game, he ends up killing not Penguin or Two-Face or even Harley....you know...the girlfriend of the man who used him as a piñata and then shot him....but Black Mask, who at this point is a has-been gangster that hasn't be relevant in the city in decades.

It's comics, plain and simple. Punisher is the exception, but even he has an arch-enemy who came back from the death at least 3 times.

    • @callmev3531
      @callmev3531 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@alexferrana3979 , Punisher's an exception only to a certain extent, since still nothing changes because of his actions, only difference is, he doesn't really care about change. He's not some champion of the oppressed or defender of the innocent, he's a soldier that never adjusted to civilian life and the death of his family at the hands of gangsters gave him a renewed sense of purpose he couldn't find with that family, an enemy that would always need a soldier like him to fight it.
In a way, characters like Punisher kind of strip away any illusions of a better, "easier", "purer" form of justice that some people think anti-heroes embody, because characters like these care less about saving or protecting anyone, not as much as...well punishing people, and not always for good reasons.
Ghost Rider is very similar in that way, to the point where some stories focus on the danger of a being that targets abstract concepts like "sin" and "evil" deciding anyone with even a hint of negativity to them, the smallest of flaws and indiscretions, is a target.
But that's part of what makes anti-heroes interesting, how they twist what is acceptable for a hero, much less a good person, to be and do, and how "right" they are to do what they do within the context of their narratives.

Well Batman _is_ crazy, I’m sure clinically. Man does the same thing with the same people who try to kill and hurt him everyday, with no rest. Dude literally has backup plans against EVERYONE! Even people he should trust. He does extremely dangerous stunts all the time with no care for the damage done to his body. He doesn’t even see himself as Bruce, when holding the lasso of truth, he literally said “I’m bat man” when the others said their names. He truly believes that his real self is the Batman and Bruce Wayne is only a mask. He stops at nothing even if he full well knows that it means it’s going to repeat the damn cycle again. He is simply just a different kind of crazy, one who does just enough legal stuff for the police not to interfere.

Small correction; The Arkham verse had its own comic line, and in said comic line Jason was not in fact killed; instead being saved by Deathstroke under the promise that he would pay him a LOT of cash, which he did out of Bruce Wayne's pockets. He then went on to become the Arkham Knight and Yada Yada Yada.

A true real hero is always trying to save , even their enemy. They do not kill. That is not up to them whether they deserve to live or die.
Its probably THE most controversial spiritual dilemma a person can go through.
And why antgaonizing a hero to always go to the edge is so interesting.
Once they kill they truly are no better than the villians they try to stop.
Now its a battle within oneself.

Arkham Todd is the weakest version for me personally. The joker is dead already and criminals (probably regular people also) rumour that batman was involved so his motivation to highlight bruce's weakness by letting him live is null. Like he says in the red hood "I forgive you for not saving me. But why, why on gods earth is he still alive?". Also when Todd snaps he's still a vigilante whilst in arkham he's a terrorist who aides other terrorists and helped kill innocents and nearly destroyed the city he thinks hes superior in defending. While i do think his kidnapping and torture is probably the most messed up version, him being trapped in arkham for years and then escaping during arkham asylum 2009 just doesn't make sense to me.

I usually agree with the killing the villans and more when they do very fucked up shit. But Aang has a pass, because he fucked Ozai mentally. Keep in mind Ozai is a "Might makes right" to the extreme mentality. Aang ripped his bending out of him, and destroyed his army and trust of his people on him (for the most part). Ozai never says it directly but if Zuko, Azula or any kid of his would have bor without bending (aka did not developed it because a baby does not show it) he would have tossed it to the street head first. So being turned into a non-bender is worse than death for him. Aang destroyed him with his own life filosofy and throw his ass in jail for life.

I want to expand on some answer I saw in the comments below. In the comics, Jason died after he was sold to the Joker by his birth mother Sheila Haywood. Jay and Bruce had been searching for a while, that why they were in Ethiopia, she worked there. After a couple of hours of torture, Jay still got up and tried to save her(she was betrayed and tied by the Joker as well). Jason died immediately in the explosion, but Sheila was able to talk to Batman a bit and told him he died a hero, before dying as well(btw Batman still doesn't now the exact dynamics of Jason capture to this day)Jason was really dead, until Superboy Prime (who is actually a fan from our reality) during a battle with other heroes, started "punching reality", which means retconing everything he didn't like, including Jason Todd death (the event was actually a pool in real life to decide if kill him or not, and it was rigged). Jason woke up still inside the coffin and had to crawl his way out. He was in a semicomatose state until he was found by Talia al Ghul, who actually wanted to rehabilitate him as a gift for Batman. The Lazarus pit was the last resource since he still didn't respond and Ra's al ghul was gonna kill him. After he woke up, he stayed and trained with Talia and grew towards hate when he saw Bruce already "replaced" him. After that everything is the same as the Under the Red Hood film. Right now in the comics I would say that Jason calmed down and they are in some kinda family relationship again.
