In Arkham it just turns this pain up to 11 talking about JASONS own pain), he is sane enough to kill ONLY does who need to be killed and spare those who don't need to be pit out of their misery
@@BIGTHANKSHEESHThe problem is that killing someone on the basis of “it needs to be done” is too abstract of an ideology to go off of, what does that mean? What’s your criteria? How can we trust you to be correct on this all the time?

If you genuinely root for the punisher, you’re missing the point of his character. Those people are not supposed to be idolised like you think they are. The punishers entire existence and writing is quite literally arguing against your perception of anti heroes.
I'm given to understand that prior to one of DC's many continuity revisions, the original reason Jason Todd was resurrected was because...and let me be clear that I have a very tenuous grasp on what the following sentence even means...because Superboy Prime (not really sure who that is) "punched reality" so hard (not really sure what that means) that it brought Jason back to life. Or something. If you already knew about this,I do not blame you for choosing not to mention it. The Lazarus Pit explanation that we were given later on is WAY more in keeping with Batman's corner of the DC Universe. Way less stupid and insane, too.
So, Silver Age Superman was stupid powerful. Like chaining up multiple planets with a long chain and dragging them around. Superboy Prime was basically that level of power in the then modern continuity. He was a level of power that nobody knew what to do with.
My only problem with the Lazarus Pit explanation is that it removes the part where Jason wakes up in his own coffin and *crawls out of his own fucking grave*. Says a lot about Jason that he was so stubborn and determined to live that immediately after being brutally tortured and blown up by the Joker (imediately from his perspective, it had actually been ~6 months) he wakes up stuck inside a coffin with very limited oxygen, dressed in a funeral suit and has to break through solid wood and dig through 6 feet of dirt with his bare hands. The fact that he didn't die again while trying to get out is insane.
Yes, I love anti-heroes, you perfectly explained why I went from a batman fan to someone that can't stand his sense of superiority and strong arming everyone into following his sense of morals
Batman doesn’t force others to not kill people, just those that work under him. He has no issue with Wonder Woman, Green Lantern or other heroes resorting to kill. He just doesn’t want “his family” to kill There is way more nuance to Batman character and why he chooses not to kill the you are not giving credit to
@Indigo_1001 batman has a flawed logic of thinking that killing means you won't stop, will kill whoever, that it just adds killers to the world. However say you kill the joker and black mask. i loved jason in arkham knight, dude was straight menace. Jason's torture and him getting psychologically broken to the point he starts to hate bruce is the reason why I'll never be a fangirl ever again. if i was bruce, joker would be puppy chow by the time im done with him
1:11 you’re not wrong but this is for people who aren’t super into the lore. Jason was soft, yes, but that’s relative to what he would eventually become. But as Robin, compared to other robins, Jason was actually going too hard on bad guys, which he was reprimanded for. Mind you, Jason had the roughest life out of the main 4, he was caught by Batman while trying to steal tires from the Batmobile.
In the Arkham knight prequel comics, jason was getting raped bullied tortured, then apparently he went alone after joker in the 1st place because he blew up a hospital full of children btw. Thats when jason had enough and shut of his tracker so he could get the job done. The Arkham joker is twisted and sadistic as fuck
Uhh- fairly sure Bruce never tried finding him because he genuinely believed HE WAS ACTUALLY DEAD. I mean he saw the recording, literally replayed it in his mind mid-way through the game for us to see. Only thing he’d be looking for is a body to bury. He didn’t abandon Jason, he thought he was already too late 💀
The 90's was the Anti-hero era. As a preteen the Punisher was my favorite comic book character. Now they're giving us a villians perspective. It's definitely working with The Penguin. I want him to fall of course but it's refreshing to get a layered villian.

In Aangs case, for the fire nation leader who brainwashed hos people on the precepts of strength, and is known for being all powerful, being beaten by an 11 year old and having his bending taken away is a fate worse than death. His reputation is completly ruined. Taking away bending in general is probably worse than death for most, but especially for him.
Small correction; The Arkham verse had its own comic line, and in said comic line Jason was not in fact killed; instead being saved by Deathstroke under the promise that he would pay him a LOT of cash, which he did out of Bruce Wayne's pockets. He then went on to become the Arkham Knight and Yada Yada Yada.
0:54, The main problem with lethal heroes or anti-heroes like Red Hood is that either they only kill goons or their villains just come back from the dead, just like heroes often end up coming back if their villains kill them. It literally does not matter if a character is merciful because their compassionate or a coward or they want their villains punished by the people, nor does it matter if a character kills because they're defending people or because their indulging themselves by punishing others. Nothing they do really changes anything for long. Red Hood is a prime example of this because he constantly flip flops between killing and not killing, anti-hero and straight up villain, and in all that change, he never does anything that lasts. Even in this game, he ends up killing not Penguin or Two-Face or even Harley....you know...the girlfriend of the man who used him as a piñata and then shot him....but Black Mask, who at this point is a has-been gangster that hasn't be relevant in the city in decades.
@@alexferrana3979 , Punisher's an exception only to a certain extent, since still nothing changes because of his actions, only difference is, he doesn't really care about change. He's not some champion of the oppressed or defender of the innocent, he's a soldier that never adjusted to civilian life and the death of his family at the hands of gangsters gave him a renewed sense of purpose he couldn't find with that family, an enemy that would always need a soldier like him to fight it. In a way, characters like Punisher kind of strip away any illusions of a better, "easier", "purer" form of justice that some people think anti-heroes embody, because characters like these care less about saving or protecting anyone, not as much as...well punishing people, and not always for good reasons. Ghost Rider is very similar in that way, to the point where some stories focus on the danger of a being that targets abstract concepts like "sin" and "evil" deciding anyone with even a hint of negativity to them, the smallest of flaws and indiscretions, is a target. But that's part of what makes anti-heroes interesting, how they twist what is acceptable for a hero, much less a good person, to be and do, and how "right" they are to do what they do within the context of their narratives.
THANK YOU I cannot stand people giving credit to Red Hood for something the character has never done. All he does is kill unimportant henchmen. And people act like he killed the joker when he never did in any canonical fashion
Aang was raised with those ideals, it’s one the last things of his people he still has, but even then Aang spared Ozai with no expectations of his redemption, it’s not even a thought, no what he did to Ozai was worse than death, he stripped him of power, stripped him of strength, stripped him of everything he had ever valued in his life and left him a disgrace in his own veiw to himself and to his people and a life of imprisonment and broken soulless torment of having no power over NO ONE, Ozai valued his control and strength, and he’ll spend the rest of his life rotting away only WISHING he could just have a taste of it one day, only for reality of his situation to crush him, any time he hopes to dream
They are called anti heroes for a reason. A true real hero is always trying to save , even their enemy. They do not kill. That is not up to them whether they deserve to live or die. Its probably THE most controversial spiritual dilemma a person can go through. And why antgaonizing a hero to always go to the edge is so interesting. Once they kill they truly are no better than the villians they try to stop. Now its a battle within oneself.

Dang, I honestly have always loved anti-heroes more than heroes and villains combined. Like - frfr, Deadpool will always be my Top 1 on Marvels. Now Jason Todd will always be my Top 1 in DC.
Punisher and Red Hood are one my two top favorites along with Deadpool and others along with it. Because when they took the people that they love away from them, Survived etc. etc. They can never go back to the person they once were but they would do anything to prevent it happening again..by using lethal defense and force against those that desire harm and death upon those who are vunerable, weak etc. In Conclusion a "W" for the anti-hero.
One thing tho, I think in the new Absolute storyline they made Bruce more like Jason. Bruce still doesn’t kill but he’s chopping off limbs and straight crippling dudes. I like the angle where it’s a young, angry, unstable Batman early in his career. Plus, 6’6” 250 lb Batman just goes so hard (also Aang was valid for that)
What you call makeup is actually Joker's skin. Joker's skin was turned chalky white after falling into the ace chemicals vat. His entire body is white like that.
Killing the firelord would of made him a maytr taking his bending away would make an example. As for Todd he became the monster he needed to be the resurrection didn't change him much either.
Tbf Aang did take Ozai’s bending away and locked him up in a dark cell forever. Imagine being completely powerless and having to spend the rest of your days in a dark ass room. That’s a fate worse than death.
Yeah dude that's because that's how they writ his character so he doesn't want to kill cuz he was raised by monks monks don't kill. It's not dumb writing it's that's his character and he doesn't want to do something. That's morally wrong so he does it entirely different
I want to expand on some answer I saw in the comments below. In the comics, Jason died after he was sold to the Joker by his birth mother Sheila Haywood. Jay and Bruce had been searching for a while, that why they were in Ethiopia, she worked there. After a couple of hours of torture, Jay still got up and tried to save her(she was betrayed and tied by the Joker as well). Jason died immediately in the explosion, but Sheila was able to talk to Batman a bit and told him he died a hero, before dying as well(btw Batman still doesn't now the exact dynamics of Jason capture to this day)Jason was really dead, until Superboy Prime (who is actually a fan from our reality) during a battle with other heroes, started "punching reality", which means retconing everything he didn't like, including Jason Todd death (the event was actually a pool in real life to decide if kill him or not, and it was rigged). Jason woke up still inside the coffin and had to crawl his way out. He was in a semicomatose state until he was found by Talia al Ghul, who actually wanted to rehabilitate him as a gift for Batman. The Lazarus pit was the last resource since he still didn't respond and Ra's al ghul was gonna kill him. After he woke up, he stayed and trained with Talia and grew towards hate when he saw Bruce already "replaced" him. After that everything is the same as the Under the Red Hood film. Right now in the comics I would say that Jason calmed down and they are in some kinda family relationship again.
Brooo I did not know about that 3rd option of the movie. I'd heard about the one where Bruce dies but DANG. Jason so cold wit it man. When I first played his dlc in arkham knight I was hyped the entire time just like "damn this mf cold with it" so HEAT
Well Batman _is_ crazy, I’m sure clinically. Man does the same thing with the same people who try to kill and hurt him everyday, with no rest. Dude literally has backup plans against EVERYONE! Even people he should trust. He does extremely dangerous stunts all the time with no care for the damage done to his body. He doesn’t even see himself as Bruce, when holding the lasso of truth, he literally said “I’m bat man” when the others said their names. He truly believes that his real self is the Batman and Bruce Wayne is only a mask. He stops at nothing even if he full well knows that it means it’s going to repeat the damn cycle again. He is simply just a different kind of crazy, one who does just enough legal stuff for the police not to interfere.
Whenever I hear someone be like superhero’s are lame as hell cuz they don’t kill the bad guys I think about the flash episodes from the justice league show where two of his villains were showed human decency and kindness instead of just being treated like bad guys and I’m like they wouldn’t deserve death ( prison yea) but not death
Arkham Todd is the weakest version for me personally. The joker is dead already and criminals (probably regular people also) rumour that batman was involved so his motivation to highlight bruce's weakness by letting him live is null. Like he says in the red hood "I forgive you for not saving me. But why, why on gods earth is he still alive?". Also when Todd snaps he's still a vigilante whilst in arkham he's a terrorist who aides other terrorists and helped kill innocents and nearly destroyed the city he thinks hes superior in defending. While i do think his kidnapping and torture is probably the most messed up version, him being trapped in arkham for years and then escaping during arkham asylum 2009 just doesn't make sense to me.

Jesus never knew this I’m assuming this must only be in the comics??
So, Silver Age Superman was stupid powerful. Like chaining up multiple planets with a long chain and dragging them around. Superboy Prime was basically that level of power in the then modern continuity. He was a level of power that nobody knew what to do with.
Thanks for explaining this MF sound like a demigod 😂
@@WadeWalker22 yup. Thank God,right!?
Means a lot man I def feel as u go through life ur perspective on “villains” change u realize life isn’t black and white
Batman doesn’t force others to not kill people, just those that work under him.
He has no issue with Wonder Woman, Green Lantern or other heroes resorting to kill. He just doesn’t want “his family” to kill
There is way more nuance to Batman character and why he chooses not to kill the you are not giving credit to
@Indigo_1001 batman has a flawed logic of thinking that killing means you won't stop, will kill whoever, that it just adds killers to the world. However say you kill the joker and black mask. You may have become a killer but you took out 2, which means the net amount of killers went down. As long as you aren't decapitating a grandma for jaywalking and are only going after these literal mass murderers then his point is moot
@@Indigo_1001sounds like if he can beat you up then he makes you follow the no-kill rule, dude has stopped over people from killing joker which is much worse than him just refusing to do it himself
my fave jason todd scene in the multiple choice thing is going down the route where batman dies and in the end Jason happens to meet up with a seemingly reformed joker in a diner. he tells jason the same joke from the end of the killing joke storyline and jason realises who he is. in response jason references what joker told him when left for dead and no warning or hesitation jason stabs him in the eye with the diner knife.
Jason was really kind at the beginning but when he realised who he was talking to and what he was gonna do he was cold and ruthless af. love that scene.

To be fair in Ozai's case having his powers getting taken away was literally a fate worse than death for him.
I just realized in the movie when joker was beatin his ass, he was barefoot so that means he stole his fucking shoes
Bruh 😭😭
"World's greatest detective" couldn't find Jason for almost 2 years. 2 years of torture from the Joker because your father figure failed at the one thing he's great at would instill a rage that would make young Kratos tremble.
i loved jason in arkham knight, dude was straight menace.
Jason doesn't break, he bleeds and takes hits but he just comes back angry
Batman: You cannot solve every problem with a gun
Red Hood: I know. That's why I brought two guns instead.
😌😌😌😌
In the Arkham knight prequel comics, jason was getting raped bullied tortured, then apparently he went alone after joker in the 1st place because he blew up a hospital full of children btw. Thats when jason had enough and shut of his tracker so he could get the job done. The Arkham joker is twisted and sadistic as fuck
Wait what Jason was getting r***ed by Joker? That’s messed up
The Comics of Arkham Series was killing people over and Over again
Bruh he wasn’t raped dude
Idk bout rape dude, he was getting tortured and mentally tormented
Uhh- fairly sure Bruce never tried finding him because he genuinely believed HE WAS ACTUALLY DEAD. I mean he saw the recording, literally replayed it in his mind mid-way through the game for us to see. Only thing he’d be looking for is a body to bury. He didn’t abandon Jason, he thought he was already too late 💀
yesss finally someone funny explain things good and understand jason PLEASE keep up
I will 🙏🏽
This is why anti heros popularity are rising . We tired of heroes saying no
The 90's was the Anti-hero era. As a preteen the Punisher was my favorite comic book character. Now they're giving us a villians perspective. It's definitely working with The Penguin. I want him to fall of course but it's refreshing to get a layered villian.
No judgement criticism hate to you but respectfully who’s we, me personally I don’t have a problem with it

I was legit cackling while I watched this. Your commentary is golden.
They should make a Jason Todd movie at some point
It's comics, plain and simple. Punisher is the exception, but even he has an arch-enemy who came back from the death at least 3 times.
@@callmev3531
THIS! This Is EXACTLY THE POINT! ANTI-HEROES DO NOT HELP SOCIETY!
THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT PERSONAL AGENDAS!
THANK YOU
I cannot stand people giving credit to Red Hood for something the character has never done.
All he does is kill unimportant henchmen. And people act like he killed the joker when he never did in any canonical fashion

This is why Jason Todd is one of the best characters in dc comics
I really hate the “No kill” trope, like why? Seriously more people are going to be inadvertently killed by sparing monsters. And I hate preachy they always are about it
There are literally multiple stories showing what will happen if they kill and nothing gets better
@@rettin8486 exactly my point on hating how preachy it is, the writers making up bs stories on how Batman finally put down the joker “BUT OH NO, NOW HE CANT TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HITLER AND JAYWALKERS” like you mean to tell me that Batman! The man who trained his body and soul, has resisted fear toxin multiple times and isn’t swayed by poison ivy. You mean to tell me he doesn’t have the mental capacity to put down a rabid dog without turning into a mass murdering machine? The writers are basically going “I’m right, you’re wrong, end of story”

Dang, I honestly have always loved anti-heroes more than heroes and villains combined. Like - frfr, Deadpool will always be my Top 1 on Marvels. Now Jason Todd will always be my Top 1 in DC.
Now the Red Hood kills all of the Gotham Gangster villains
goku is catching every type of indirect stray possible in the beginning😭

Jason can become the Ironman of DC if DC had any brains to make a live action movie on it with Batman as a cameo
To be fair, I think Ozai losing his fire was a worse punishment for him than dying. He lost all his power and everything when Aang took his fire.
What you call makeup is actually Joker's skin. Joker's skin was turned chalky white after falling into the ace chemicals vat. His entire body is white like that.
Naw I know he got burned in ace 😭this just for entertainment purposes only 🫡
Killing the firelord would of made him a maytr taking his bending away would make an example. As for Todd he became the monster he needed to be the resurrection didn't change him much either.

To be fair, Batman thought Jason was dead.
Arkham Red Hood is my fav Red Hood
Yeah dude that's because that's how they writ his character so he doesn't want to kill cuz he was raised by monks monks don't kill. It's not dumb writing it's that's his character and he doesn't want to do something. That's morally wrong so he does it entirely different
idk man, might be my new favorite youtuber.
15:41 got me dying cause of the soundtrack

“Encounterments” stealing that.
0:56 True but not all.
Didn't Aang take Ozai's power away?
Yes
He did but honestly, people don't need firebending to do bad stuff. Like come on
