Dude the 600 is alway the best starter bike. I started on a 600 when I was 16. Bro don’t worry about power. Just know your limits and respect yourself and the motorcycle. Be safe

anything less then a 600 imo is a waste of money, i started on a ninja 300 (only cause my dad felt more comfortable with me starting on it) rode it a week then took over my dads cbr600rr be smart and you can start on a bike you wont get bored. even my dad said it was a waste and he would have preferred me to be on a 600 to save 5k lol
Couldn't agree more Jose, I have a 2004 GSX-R 600 and I love it. One thing i would add to your know your limits and respect yourself is respect the road & other motorist. Simply because motorcyclists get a bad rep and you should set yourself apart from other riders on the road.

Yo guys, I own a 2005 gsxr 600 and have been riding it for the last 3 years. This is an amazing motorcycle, handles well around the corners. Did a few mods to it, nothing serious. Changed the spark plugs to iridium spark plugs, put in a performance air filter - i have a pipercross air filter in, I also changed the sprocket ratio to -1 in the front and +2 at the back. the acceleration is awesome. got a slip on sc project exhaust pipe on - sounds crazy wild. Thought about getting a larger cc engine Suzuki but i got to be honest, its hard letting go. Respect from South Africa!!!

I have this exact same bike for 2 years and it wheelies fine.pulls way harder than most bikes on its class.even put the smack down on couple naked bikes of higher ccs

@@bartiniboy I got 50k under its belt. Issues so far have been dirty secondary filter( there is a bypass method on a vstrom forum) and mainly electrical due to the previous owner wiring her up but she works like gold.cold start, hot starts,riding in heavy rain all good. If you guys run into any issues i do have some know how i can help

Had an 05 Blue/White and buddy had an 06 blue and white. The throttle response and what felt like low end tq was def. worse on the 06. My bike was much more torquey.... On the flip side his felt a bit lighter and handled better but I felt the motor in mine was better... Rev'ed quicker and more freely....

Good for you, and the liter bike laughs back at you for you even thinking you can handle it. If having a liter bike(that's if you even have one) makes you feel you are worthy piece of skin then by all means keep bragging.

Sounds like someone’s scared to own one. They are very controllable with common sense and experience. I would never be able to go back to a 600. Nothing wrong with them though.
3rd gear gets you to 120mph
@@amosxx-1264 on my 08 750 3rd gear is 137-140 i was surprised at how hight it was in just 3rd then 4th gear is around 158-160

Had an 04 GSXR600 now I have built up a 98 GSXR600, they Rock. I'm older and had all the Busa's and 1000's of the world(ZX14 the best), there's something special about cranking on a 600. thanks for the video

The gsxr is hated on by many, the truth is its a perfect well rounded machine its the perfect balance between track and street... it can literally do it all, let'em hate & roll on. GSXR = PERFECTION.

I started on a 21 ninja 650. Nice bike bt was too small for me. I rode it for 2 days and traded it in for a 20 Gsxr 750 and I love it
K4-k5 are Awsome and Sexy...it have a timeless look. I own a k5 750 and it scares me. If u love the 600...750 will make you sprung!!

No I live in FL now, I moved out of southern pines about 8 years ago, I used to live off of May street near Yadkin. But I come up to Aberdeen a couple times a year to see my family still.

I Love these body styles. I have a k6 750. It was a tough choice picking from k5 and k6
Nice bike I have a black and silver 05 that I got this summer I absolutely love it and she has been very reliable...but if you notice your head light not coming back on right away after you start the engine do you your self a favor and replace the starter/ kill switch assembly if it completely fails the bike won't start and the head light will not come on
Robert Francis Nice and thanks! I haven’t noticed any issues with the starter/kill switch. I do have a problem with my key ignition sticking.
Just got the same year as well only thing that lowkey freaks me out is my Odometer doesn't work. The dude I bought it from said he replaced it but obviously that either isn't true or there's another issue. I'm new to riding this type of bike and have no idea wtf to do lol anybody got any tips or suggestions? Sick bike brotha 👌🏼 stay safe out there

Giant Killer I’m actually going to be doing a chain and sprocket change soon! I actually just want to go 1 down in the front and stock in the rear to still keep a little top end.
I fkn hate yosh pipes if u want ur gsx-r to sound good I promise u put a shorty 2 Brothers pipe on and I’ll tell u that u will not be dissatisfied with it bc my k4 600 was a monster but my gsx-r would only go 186 mph completely red lined and what is cool about the k4-k5 is that it has a 1/4 and 1/2 time track option built into the speedometer and it has a mode that teaches u how to shift better it has a indicator light that tells u when to shift

Absolutely. I went crazy last year & got a 2018 750. This thing is gnarly. Unless I'm riding with other advanced riders, I usually don't switch out of B mode.😂 Even at around 60% power it pulls like a beast. Switch to A mode, blast open the throttle & you better have a good grip cause it will throw your ass right off the back.😂 Great mid range power. All 6 gears pull hard.....all the way to 160😁(had more but I let off when my brain told me the fun is done if a Deer, like the ones I just passed, happens to run out in front of me. Looks awesome, more speed than I really need, is comfortable & will eat up a twisty mountain road. Simply a badass piece of machinery.🏍💨🤘

You live near wow? We stay in kennesaw. And have a couple newer riders in our group. My son just moved up from a 300 to a 600cc. We also ride with some guys that mostly track. Very diverse group if you ever wanna meet up. Let me know

Great bike. I have a 2004 gsxr 1000. I had it for 5 years now. Do you have a power commander? You wont have any problems with those bikes. It's super reliable and strong. They dont break down.

Attention everyone. Don’t buy a street bike for a starter bike. Power isn’t a factor. It’s the fact that your leaning into the bike it doesn’t properly teach you control of the bike. Get something upright or start on a dirt bike or you’ll have a high chance of crashing it. Doesn’t matter if it’s a 300 or 250 or whatever, street bikes are dumb as a first bike. And no I don’t wanna hear “I started on an r6 and I’m fine” that doesn’t mean anything to a new rider. And “respecting the bike” doesn’t really come into affect. Because It’s just basic human nature that if the bikes got the power to go faster, your going to try to use all

I started on a Ninja 400, PERFECT starter bike. 130 top speed 0-60 in about 4.2sec if Launched properly and just an all around great starter bike! Now have a 2007 gsxr 600

Doug DiGiacomo Hey I am using a standard GoPro mount on the chin and have it reinforced with Surgu... I think that is how you say it. It’s moldable flue you can get on Amazon. I am using a J hook mount to attach the GoPro. I am using a Hero 7 Black and I like the setup. You’ll need the GoPro mic adapter as well.

Yes, there are a lot of people who own older bikes and run fine. It’s all in how you take care of them. Mine have over 40k miles and ran like a champ!

I'm about to pull trigger on a red and black 05 600 and I'm on the fence. The guy is asking 5000 and only has 3000 miles hardly rode and garage kept. Idk what to do but I'm sure if I don't someone will soon
I’d say get it. An 05 with that many miles is pretty good at that price.

Thanks for the motivation to keep riding. My wife told me that if I couldn’t pay my bike off by April that I would have to sell it. I actually agreed and just told myself that I’d buy another one when we’re more financially stable, but I think I’m just gonna put in the extra hours and pay the thing off now. I want to keep riding! got an r3, didnt enjoy it much, planning on buying 2005-2006 gsxr 600... here's my answer :)
The K4/K5 are HUGE in terms of size. I upgraded to a '16 GSXR 600 and it's like half the size.

If you have the the standard pipe , although not as loud as the yoshi , you are able to hear the sweet induction roar that it has , honestly it sounds superb but the yoshi drowns it out , great bike , I have one myself , great vid too , be lucky

Remove those LED'S, Remove those hideous bar end sliders and cheap levers, just get OEM. K5's are bulletproof and beautiful. Have fun!

Where are you suppose to carry your groceries? I can carry 2 weeks of groceries on my bike. Looks like you can carry maybe lunch on that bike, under the seat. I guess... at least it will be warm? Lol.
Looks like a nightmare to work on the engine. Wait until you have to replace the cylinder head, you'll find something to hate... probably the whole bike when you have to take it completely apart. As for gloves, Vulcan welding leather gloves can't be beat. My gloves are either with my bike or my welder.
When you're young and stupid :) it's all about power and acceleration. As you get older, it's all about saving money (fuel economy and cheap parts) and how much shit you can carry / haul on it. 80% of your trips will be to haul groceries on it and/or haul your butt back and forth to work... and you don't want to take all your motorcycle gear into work with you... need somewhere on the bike to store it all.
Never had any accidents until my vision started deterioriating really bad. Took out three construction horses at 70mph some idiot crew put out on the interstate with no flashing light. Didn't phase me one bit - boom boom boom. Smashed up my front end and had to replace some stuff. Pretty much mostly stopped riding after that. When you can't see traffic lights or curbs any more, time to give it up. #$%^& curbs.

I picked up a used 2005 GSXR 750 in Malaysia. Despite having to replace the throttle body because the STVA went -C28 on me, I would say the older GSXR's are amazing. Congrats on the new ride.

I just bought an 05 ninja 636, gotta check out the competition lol. Thats a nice looking bike. I'm jealous of the analog tach. I put new pads on the front of mine before i rode it (go EBC) they are like a light switch, stupid good, almost a little scary without ABS, wouldn't want to panic brake this thing. My mirrors are also pretty bad lol.

Alex Galdamez That it is! 😄 As for starting on an R3, I highly recommend it as a first bike. Check out my “First Bike-Yamaha R3” video. I think I might make a video on should a 600 be your first bike.

Watched this video before i bought mine in December 2020, it's an orange/black K4 600, passed my test here in the UK in February last year so it's been my first bike over here in Scotland, don't think i'll ever get to the stage where i'm thinking it's too slow (i'm 50 though lol), get's to 7K it just takes off, then again at 11K, it's amazingly smooth, was into cars for years but they seem boring now, watching this again i've noticed your tank grips are upside down, straight edge should be at the bottom edge of the tank, it would bug me but i'm a bit OCD.

should be obligatory as gravity is persistent!

I was only mainly watching for the performance stats - I'm a power junkie!
Thebikemarket & some others say the K4/K5 has a top speed of 180mph+(possibly with racing pipe 5% bhp plus?) with 0-60 in 3.34 and 120bhp.
Can you confirm the stats inc 0-60mph please as I'm after buying one?
There are few I haven't ridden of the analog 'plastic projectiles' pre-2002.
I've had all the pre-02 Gixers including the 400, 600 plus 3 x 750's (& the 1000
K2, which belongs on a race track IMO!).
I've a Yamaha R6 2001 with a full Akropovic atm, which I bought June 2024,
that i'm pretty impressed with & pleasantly surprised- being the last R6 carb-model
bike.
The standard claim is 0-60 mph 2.8 & 163mph but it doesn't seem to add up.
Though If I were to buy a K4/K5 there is little point with pretty minor incremental differences so it would be helpful to know, much appreciated

My question is how is the height of the bike? Im 5-7/5-8 and always wondered if I would be able to balance myself at a stop with ease or not.
The seat height is not as high as some of the other competitors from the big four. You sit more into the bike in my opinion and would be standard tip toe for your height. May be slightly better than something like an R6 which has a higher seat height.

I’ve wanted to get one since I was a kid, used to take pics of peoples bikes whenever I see one parked up, and now I want a gsxr maybe 600 at first what do you think ? Would 600 be a good idea for first bike ?

DanRsturboS1 Thanks! Yeah hat sucks about the traffic. 😄 My opinion is if you have never rode a bike before then start on something like a 300cc bike. Now you could start on a 600 if you got a newer one with power modes to lessen the power at first. Then you won’t grow out of it as fast.
I want a 1000 but test drove one and felt that the 600 was more than enough for the street. Unless you are going to the track it’s really only good in a straight line on the highway.

@@dgill01702 if what you say is true that its looks and cruising for you then you will have no problem with the 600. If you are able to take a lesson or two somewhere that will definitely help out but not required. Respect the bike and yourself and you'll be golden. You'll gain confidence on a 600 very quickly the more you ride it but always be modest with it ^^. Good luck and enjoy riding when you get it 👍

My son started on a Kawasaki ninja 250 rode for a month moved up to a Yamaha r6 currently riding a cbr600rr i stated on a kz650 and a Suzuki gsx600f both awesome for older bikes i suggest for new riders getting into riding to start on a 80's early 90's cb750 gs650 kz650 get the feeling of the bike learn to ride they have more power than a 250 300 but not as aggressive as the r6 zx6 gsxr600 i had experience riding other bikes Harley Sportser 1200 Harley Sportser 900 my brothers gsxr750 and a friends kz1000 is what started my love for sports bikes i had to have one after riding one
All are great bikes! I have not been on the older models, but it would be interesting to see how compare to newer bikes.
Its funny how people just think 600's just magically make you go 140+ like "they're pure race bikes, you get on one and then will start racing and going FAST" 🤣 they act like people who say guns kill people. Nope people kill people just like people CHOOSE to use their 600's to drive like idiots.
Those Bars don"t look Standard, i"m in the process of changing my to a Bit more upright, (Age Catching Up), are those Helibars you have on it, also, the Gixer 600 is a Fantastic Bike.
Just sold my gsxr600... brakes are kind of a weak spot of the gsxr (all of them) just check the mods... but they are plenty enough for the street with the right pads. Chassis is forgiving and bike feels hella light even pushing it... really enjoyed owning it... it was my first 600 having had a couple of 1000s before. Cheers and ride safe!

@@davidstancu2963I realize that I shouldn't of said identical but my k3 and k4 1000 are blue, black and white colors on each k3 is when they changed the bike from that square head light but it was figure of speach cause I liked Eric's bike enough said.

Kids love my fox body stroker mustang. Makes it worth all the work of building it when the 10/15 year old kids are all amped up over how loud it cams it’s great.
