Great Review. I just bought a K5 2005 Gsxr 600 for Only $500 and she runs Excellent only 11,000 miles on the bike. Best 600 Ever made. I love the Cammed Idle lol

This is definitely the oldest gen Id recommend for the gsxr 600. Its the first gen to get inverted forks and braced swing arm on the 600. Prior to that you have to get a 750.

I agree... I spent 26 months at Menwith Hill in Yorkshire (1963-65). I can't say I hated it though but the weather sure was crap. I got there after a terrible winter and left just before another terrible winter. People start passing out from the heat if the temperature reaches 85 F. I'm in Southern California now, about 30 miles to the Rock Store rock-store.com/ and 30 miles to Malibu via Hwy 1... beautiful area and great weather!

. Nobody keeps the revs low and putts around, 2 weeks and you’re touching the rev limiter . I get the idea behind it but the reality is that most young men will slam a few times on a 600 if it’s the first bike .

I bought an 05 last week with 7k miles on it for $3k. Rectifier, stator and left side of the fairings have to be replaced. Guy bought it dropped it then let it sit for 3 years.

Iv just seen one for sale here in UK with 22k just under £3000 but looks pristine
idk about no bottom end a 600 pulls pretty hard not as much as a liter bike of course maybe that's what you ride idk
but yeah low rpm it's not pulling but I think everyone on a street bike doesn't shift under 12 grand lol

These Bikes are cheap, but stupid scamming insurance companies make it near impossible to put them on the Road!
How so? I’ve never had and difficulties with fully insuring any of my bikes. My most recent R6 cost my under $800 a year for full coverage . Region makes a huge difference but I’m actually in a fairly high cost region. 🤷🏻♂️

It’s been dropped and has a broken mirror and some cracked fairings small dent in the tank and a bent foot peg

definitely not, start on a smaller cc sport bike or a cruiser over 600. a 600 supersport at your age will leave you in the hospital

my 05 GSXR has 19.6k miles. still super fast. and really low miles.
+Sean Kerr no problem man. I love mine. never get rid of it. lol
+Sean Kerr The 06-07's had rectifier issues because they were put behind the radiator with basically no air flow. Relocate it to the side of the bike or inside the air box and they're one of the best bikes ever. The 05 Gixxer 1000 still has a cult following , the power band was incredible on them especially at low to mid revs. I'm a Yamaha guy but always had love for the gixxer , imo the most comfortable 600 or 1000 to ride especially on long trips. Suzuki nailed that on these bikes.
