This is my first bike and its been 1 year since I've bought it. I have yet to out grow the speed on it and still wouldn't say I use it to the fullest. Its been great, 7k miles, one close scare that made me learn a lot but besides that I stay within my limits. It's definitely fitting for a first bike as long as you have proper self control. thoughts in 2024: I'll say, maybe not the most 'fitting' first bike for everyone. very dangerous especially for inexperienced. (300-400cc range would be fitting, and easily tradeable when upgrading) but I still love mine to this day and am happy I chose to start on the 600, it taught me a lot.
1 year of riding, lol...of course you can't use it to its fullest. You aren't even close. Professional riders can ride these bikes to a fault. 100% of normal people cannot. Unless you have spent every week at the track for the last 15 years, you are nowhere near riding the bike to its potential.
Ive owned both 600cc range all the way up to Ducati 1299s and can say with confidence no one needs a 1000cc engine. It’s literally boring riding a bike you can only use 2-3 gears because they’re so tall. Plus the top speed is barely different between the two classes, along with acceleration. I’d say gsxr 750 at the most but even then, 99% of the people who buy these will never ever come close to being able to use the bikes full potential. Hope you have many safe miles and just do your best to not let the excitement of speed get you into any trouble(both with the law and health wise)

Dude, I’ve been noticing that gear whine too the more I watch clips of gsxrs. I could be wrong, but I don’t feel I’ve heard them on other 600s. Is there a reason for this? I have a similar Kawasaki 600cc inline 4. Very low power from idle to 5,000 rpm, where you spent most time on the street. At 13,000 rpm it really wakes up- where it is used on a race track. It will feel faster with a smaller front sprocket and/or bigger back sprocket, but will vibrate more at 75 mph. If you are young the insurance is high, and the very powerful front brakes to stop it at 150 mph can get a beginner in trouble fast. The R6 is often considered best on a track, and the 636 best on the street for this style. They are best at 70 mph or above because your chest acts like a sail to lift your weight off the seat.
In Sweden (and probably most of Europe) we have to get a separate license for motorcycles. One for mopeds (A1 - limited to 125cc, 11kW), one for "midsize" bikes (A2 - limited to 35kw/0,2kW/Kg) and "heavy" bikes (go nuts). And you can take all three at the same time.

Just as agile and in some ways more usable. I would probably recommend the SV 650 for a first bike over the Gsxr 600 but if you are not worried about the power then definitely. Supersports are all pretty much the same for the last 2 decades, if you're not racing. The performance isn't that different between the years. It's all about style in the end.
Mine 2006 GSX-R does exactly same 130 kph on first gear. 600 engine really did not change a lot last 20 years, cause no matter how much hoursepower do you get from engine, if it's limited with the torque of its capacity class, you will not go any faster. What has really evolved is a frame stiffness and weight, suspension and electronics. But not the engine peak power. It is already in very unusable range.
Shaun, I had a 390 duke off of the back of your review. It was a fantastic little bike. I’ve now gotten myself a speed S and I think you’re right in what you are saying. Although I jumped on the 790 and it’s top end wasn’t enough for me, so I had to buy the 1050. I like having the instant torque.
Nice that you still got the 600cc bikes! In Germany we only have the 1000cc bikes since 2017. Ok the R6 was still available for a couple of years but now you can only buy the R6 for races, not for the street. Talking about new bikes! We can still get 600cc second hand bikes of course.

are GSXR good bikes? I heard someone say GSXRs are not good...I'm looking into one...will get my endorsement soon and decided not to go for the R6, have seen/read a lot of not so good comments on it. I like this (GSXR) too
I don't ride my r6 anymore either since i got the gsxr 1k . the gsxr in any size is more comfortable . my opinion .i would trade the r6 for a Suzuki any day....
gixxer L7 508 honestly for the last like 15 or so years any Japanese 600 is gonna be a safe choice. The cbr, r6, gsxr, zx6r have all been pretty solid since the early 2000s there’s a reason they’re all still at the top of the 600 class. Although I know for awhile a good amount of gsxrs were having electrical problems somethin to do with the stator I think
I like the looks of the bikes... I just don't think they could be the most comfortable to drive on Long hauls which I like to do but I do appreciate this video on this bike
Nate Warman incredibly uncomfortable. But, they are fun. I did a 350 mile ride on mine a few months ago. My wrists and ankles felt like they were going to fall off by the end.
The scripture that you read was always my moms favorite verse. This channel has always been a favorite of mine because of the way you do things. Stay safe in this messed up world.
In my opinion.....saftey on a motorcycle comes from training staying alert and paying attention. It also comes from speed and handling, so there is no such thing as to fast for the street because yes it is extremely dangerous out there these days.
My bike barely reaches 80 in top gear! First gets me to 15.. maybe 17 lol. Rebel 250 making ~17hp. I love it anyway tho! Totally reliable day after day for two years.. at least 20 miles a day, 2-300 on some.
The main reason to ride a bigger engine bike is it is at lower percentage of its peak stresses most of the time which help longevity. I love all of them, though.
That’s been proven to be nonsense. Supersports are designed for max performance, the lower tier sport bikes are understressed for durability. The Ninja 650, for example, is Kawasaki’s most reliable engine, even though it might turn more revs than a liter bike going down the road.
How would it be possible, to lean over and give it power, without losing the back wheel, No torque. My late beloved 05 fuel inj.650 Bandit, was about 58,59 times more biking joy, than in 84 my nearly new GPZ 750 turbo, and I maxed out the GPZ, countless times, acceleration wise, got 161 mph, and yet a Perfect Storm,in 3rd gear up a steep steep hill 7,000rpm,red lines at 12,000, 7,000 was the quickest I had ever accelerated, fast forward X4. 4th gear, first ride in Ernest, in 27 years, felt like an industrial catapult sent it on it's way, SHEET so much JOY, every single ride, has ruined me for any other bike. Hopefully only a semi retired fuel inj . Banditateer fekkin Banditaholic Will FOREVER ACHE for 3rd gear PLEASURE. Yours truly Professor Bandit fuel inj.650 B.T.E out. Got a PhD Masters degree in, Bandit Torque Enjoyment only, nothing technical.
I’d prefer a 600 at this point. Especially an older K5 GSX-R600. I can actually pin the throttle on a regular basis. High-rpm screams without being as ludicrous as 150+ to the rear tire like you’d get with modern liters.
I personally thing k6-k7 r the most beautiful gsxr !!! What do u guys think ? I'm surprised also that a k6-k7 Goes up to 16,000 rpm while the rest of the gsxr 600 models only go to 15k !! I think 1k rpm can be a big difference!!!

are GSXR good bikes? I heard someone say GSXRs are not good...I'm looking into one...will get my endorsement soon and decided not to go for the R6, have seen/read a lot of not so good comments on it. I like this (GSXR) too
I don't ride my r6 anymore either since i got the gsxr 1k . the gsxr in any size is more comfortable . my opinion .i would trade the r6 for a Suzuki any day....
@@charlievelez3510 you got bad info .gsxr is very reliable .and probably the ezest bikes to work on....
gixxer L7 508 honestly for the last like 15 or so years any Japanese 600 is gonna be a safe choice. The cbr, r6, gsxr, zx6r have all been pretty solid since the early 2000s there’s a reason they’re all still at the top of the 600 class. Although I know for awhile a good amount of gsxrs were having electrical problems somethin to do with the stator I think
I had mine for about 5 years now and no electrical issues...I have an L4
I like the looks of the bikes... I just don't think they could be the most comfortable to drive on Long hauls which I like to do but I do appreciate this video on this bike
Nate Warman incredibly uncomfortable. But, they are fun. I did a 350 mile ride on mine a few months ago. My wrists and ankles felt like they were going to fall off by the end.
In Atlanta you have to have atleast a 600cc for other people to even wanna ride with you 😂
First time commenter, long time listener. This guy knows. Knowledge is horsepower!
Love these early srk vids
And the Lord said unto him "watch the road!" haha just kidding XD
love the suzuki Blue bikes too ! sweet little bike !
my 13' gsxr 600 hits about 73 in first.
my left ear loved this vid!
God bless you 🙏❤️😍 love from 🇮🇳
The scripture that you read was always my moms favorite verse. This channel has always been a favorite of mine because of the way you do things. Stay safe in this messed up world.
cool bike I really like the blue.
The 2007 gsxr 600 I rode did 80 in first gear
Yes a closed Amish course used for Saturday night races.
At the market right now Suzuki offer best value for second hand owner's, including the mighty Busa!.
Great view 👍🏴
" I looked it up, its 80mph..." lol @12:37
Love the gix 6 be blessed my friend
Really love that bike. I wish I could own one in the future.
Velton John Palacios You can just keep imaging it. If you can see it in your mind you can hold it in your hands
Just wanted to say love your vids and no bullshit style! Keep posting, ride safe brother ♥
Sean one day I will on a real bike thank you for your show
I am honestly thinking of going with this for my first bike.
Do it I started on a 01 gsxr
In my opinion.....saftey on a motorcycle comes from training staying alert and paying attention. It also comes from speed and handling, so there is no such thing as to fast for the street because yes it is extremely dangerous out there these days.
As long as you’re on top of it its cool 😊
My bike barely reaches 80 in top gear! First gets me to 15.. maybe 17 lol. Rebel 250 making ~17hp. I love it anyway tho! Totally reliable day after day for two years.. at least 20 miles a day, 2-300 on some.
I ride dirt bikes all the time and have a 250 I’m thinking of getting a sport bike do you think this would be a good one ?
I think a 600c bike is the perfect semi beginner bike. Not a lot of power down low to get you in trouble. Easier to get out of 1st gear
Can you have this as a starter bike and use it in C mode until you build up enough skill?
I believe you can if you have proper throttle discipline and an overall good idea how to handle the bike in turns both low an high speed.

Yeah, whatever.
I love my ninja 250 but dang I want one of these so bad. Gotta pop wheelies at 55mph
Hoping this is going to be my first bike unless I find something I adore under 600cc but I do have dirtbike experience I'm so excited
You probably know this since you switched out your mic but it’s mono just coming thru one headphone/speaker. Love the vids.
THAT COLOR SCHEME IS ICONIC! I AM A HONDA RIDER BUT SUZUKI'S BE HAVING BE CHECKING THEM OUT EVERY NOW AND AGAIN. WOULD LOVE TO TEST RIDE ONE BUT IM PRETTY LOL DOGGONE LOYAL TO HONDA LOL
@1:16 AMEN :)
EVERY TIME I HEAR THE NAME "JESUS" MY SOUL LEAPS FOR JOY!
@12:29 LOL THATS SO ME LOL I CLEAR THE INTERSECTION SO I CAN FREE IT UP IN ORDER TO TURN UP LOL EVEN IF ITS MY TURN I FLAG EVERYBODY TO GO LOL
1ST GEAR 80MPH?????? WHEN DO U EVER SHIFT????? O M G !!!!
@16:54 YES & AMEN!
Hey man, for some reason this video is only playing on the left channel on headphones
Some guy at the dealership tried to sell me this as my first motorcycle ever 🤣🤦🏻♂️ I went with the z400 instead haha I’ll upgrade to a 600 later
Couldn’t you baby a 600 until your skills are good? My driving instincts are good since I already have my car license, so I would ride even more defensively
Hi guys, outstanding sweet state of the art work of engineering machine, 80 mph on first gear "wow man" sweet indeed, must kind of you for shearing that information and test drive with us, nice presentation, keep up the good work.
I'm just surprise on how that road look 5 years ago compared to today lol i drive to work at lift all everyday throughout there
