- Welcome to Flip It Furniture! In this start to finish video I am giving an old worn out rocking chair a much needed furniture makeover. I’m using Country Chic Paint in Pop The Bubbly. This is a clay based all in one paint that I found incredibly easy to use on the chair. This is a furniture makeover for my own home so I’m especially excited 😊

I think every home should have a rocking chair 💕👍🏽
I agree and the light color brightened up the room a bit!
That was great. I bought a chair like thisin pretty bad shape. Never refinished anything for resale. It's a good heavy solid chair. This video gives me direction and hope.
I still have the rocking chair my mother held my brother & I in when we were little, and I have a big photograph of her doing just that. I still have the rocking chair, and would like to refinish it, which is something I have never done.
I don’t understand why I love watching these videos! It’s literally, watching paint dry! 🤷🏼♀️👏🏻
😂😂😂❤️
Enjoy watching you as you are pleasant and I enjoy watching other artists!
I collect rocking chairs and I love painting kids rocking chairs…the first one I ever did was in DB Collard Greens (base coat), Barn Red,Florida Orange & Colonial Mustard. I know it sounds crazy, however the later of the colors where blended from the seat and about a 1/3 of the way up the slat spindles. I blended as if I was making 🔥 flames. This is still the grandkids favorite chair, which was done 5 years ago and still taking a beating as they don’t just sit on it😂have all sons (5) and all grandsons including 3 year old twin boys and 9 year old twin boys! I know boy stuff -not very good with the girly stuff. Boys like flames…fixing to do another rocker …paint a faux pocket with a tree frog coming out and the headrest I’m going to paint like a bandana. I just love creating as a hobby but I don’t flip as I’m to perfectionist ⏰lose track of time.I also find as I’m in the middle of a project …I come up with more bright ideas that I need to add or my”boys” will give their thoughts which I love💝
I hope you have more lasting success and prosperity in all your work 🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬
particularly liked the wooden chair
My husband did too lol but it was in rough shape.
I just recently found a wooden rocking chair out for the trash and it's in really good condition. I really like the look of it painted white, I think I'm going to do this with it.
Amy This helps so much, also. Thank You!
I'm so glad!
What a difference! I have 2 old rockers that I am going to do this with. Thanks!
Your welcome! Its funny you say that because a friend of mine just gave me another rocker so now I’ll have a set too. Woohoo!
Gorgeous!! This just showed up in my feed and I’m so glad! I have a rocker, which my neighbors gave me along with 4 other beautiful pieces, and just said to my husband this morning, “I need to ask some of the furniture artists I follow if they’ve ever done a rocking chair”! So thank you for this! Super helpful and great tips!
Wow.. wish I was as clever, wonderful finish!
"This rocking chair is like my leg lamp." HA. I can so relate. Great job on a flip that looked kinda daunting. And very helpful tips, as usual.
😂thank you!
Just found a rocking chair someone had put out as garbage. The arm is out but easy enough to glue back in ..debating doing the white like you did or sanding and putting a nice finish on it. Thanks for the video!
It went from well loved to well care for. Thank you for the demo.
💙😊
Turned out beautifully.......!!
Thank you!
I bet your husband loved it❗️🤩
He did!💙😁
I would love to see your husband's reaction to you painting his beloved rocker.😁 He has to be sooo happy!!!😊 (It is just lovely.💗 Good job!)👍
Haha he is happy about it! It only took 15 years to talk him into painting it 🤣 He sat in it last night and said it feels like a new chair but in a good way!
@@FlipItFurniture Awww that is sooo sweet!!! May God bless both of you and your precious marriage.🕊🙏
Thank you 😊 💜
Really nice job!
I love this makeover! 🤍
Looks awesome. I have almost the same chair. I’ll be doing exactly this too it as well.
Love that rocker!
Thank you!
It was ok to start with
The rocking chair is beautiful, great
Thank you 😊
Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Your welcome Janie. Thanks for watching!
I loved it's old used "patina" but looks great painted too. Gator hide is a great product
Love it!
Wow it turned out good!
This rocking chair turned out really pretty, you should be proud of yourself. And you are one brave woman to paint in your house. You must be a much neater painter than I am, I would not attempt that unless I had tarps everywhere including on the walls!
Thank you! Hahaha I do have to touch up the back wall quite often🤣
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I love the way it turned out.
Thank you!
I love the paint job on the rocker I was just thinking that would look really pretty with those delicate transfers on the top and maybe a couple other places very nice
That’s a great idea! I don’t think I can do it for this one but definitely for the next😊
It turned out beautiful ❤️. I love the color
Thank you 😊
I just wanna touch it!!! I looks so pretty. Awesome job!
Hahaha thanks! It’s so silky and smooth 😁
It came out beautiful!
Thank you 😊
Gorgeous!
Thank you!
I've thought many times about doing a rocking chair. You have made this look so easy and the chair turned out really nice. Thanks !!
Thank you! It really wasn’t too bad. I think working in sections made it a lot easier.
Really nice!! My cedar chest is getting it this season.
Haha that’s great!
Im back sweetie 🤩 awesome video and great job on rocker. ..So here's a Tip for ya ...I Get Super intimidated On top coats ...that I Wud literally Have like 3 unfinished projects JUST to avoid the Sealer haha ..UNTIL I Started Using Dixie belles Round blue sponge .... OMGOSH what a Game changer....You Gotta Use the blue sealer sponge. .and it fits right into the opening of gator hide and all their sealers ....Super easy to use with NO brush strokes Or bubbles....be blessed my dear 👍🖌️🎨😊
Yes, I’ve seen that sponge. I’ll have to place an order for it soon! Thank you!
Pretty! Thanks for reviewing those particular products- I haven't tried either of them.
Thank you! I really love the Country Chic Paint. I have to start using it more often.
Your video where you painted the $20 hutch from FB market place randomly showed up. I just finished watching it. You did a beautiful job!! I was searching your other videos and came across this one with the rocker. I too have an old rocker that looks like it’s seen better days. I thought about getting rid of it, but now thanks to you, I might try to update it with some paint. Wish me luck.
Oh that's great!!! Thank you for watching. Good luck on your rocker!😊❤️
I love your work! You’ve inspired me to tackle a chair I picked up of the side of the road. Thank your the inspiration. ❤️
That’s great! Your welcome and thanks for watching 😊
Love it!! Great work as always Amy!!
Thanks Rachelle 😊
Amazing job 🌹
Thank you😊
Wow this turned out great!! You did such an amazing job!🥰 Enjoyed your video!
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed it😊
I have a rocker in the cellar my husband bought me 40 years ago. I would love to bring it up, do you think I could add something on top of the paint? I love the color, but it's missing a bit more. Thanks!
Do you sand the spindles under the arm rest
Beautiful! Have to do mine now! Could you link the products please?
Thank you! Yes, I will link products in the description box soon.
Did you use citristrip on the whole chair or just the seat? I just got the same chair that is equally well loved and in need of a facelift.
I love it. Random... what’s the wall color behind you?! 😀
Thank you! It’s Stonington Gray by Benjamin Moore.
@@FlipItFurniture I knew I loved it for a reason. I’m currently considering that for my Bedroom. It seems a little dark but in your photos (and many online) it’s so light. It’s the perfect gray though!!
Yeah it’s my favorite! It definitely depends on the lighting in my house if it’s a dreary day it’s darker and a sunny day it’s really light! But I love it either way.
Love your work to repurpose furniture. Just curious you dont seem to tie back your hair. Dont you worry you'll get a stray steand in finish?
Thank you! I’ve had that happen once or twice but it doesn’t happen often. I do have two dogs though and that can be a problem. I’m constantly vacuuming During painting and sometimes I even have to change my clothes because Before working during shedding season 🤦♀️🐶
It looks so lovely thanks for sharing
Your welcome and thank for watching😊
Beutifull dear keep up the good work 👍😊
شاطره ⚘😊⚘ if u like try to create a blueish greenish pillow seating would look lovely on it
I did that on my patio chairs before looks so cute
But did not upload on my channel 🤭
Thank you!😊
Hi Amy, new subscriber here! Quick question about the rocking chair: did you paint the bottom of the rockers? I have an old family rocking chair that had in the basement for the past 20+ years. You've inspired me to drag it out and bring it back to life with a fun paint color (maybe a robin's egg blue!)
Hi! Thank you 😊
I flipped the rocker upside down and I painted all the spindles but I did not paint under the seat or under the legs. I thought that if someone was rocking it would chip underneath And then cause peeling along the side, so I just left the bottoms alone.
I love your idea. The blue sounds beautiful!
What is tanins?
Subtitles Spanish please!!🙏🏻
Okay! Thanks for the input!
The original/natural wood was a million times nicer.
My honest response is that beauty is in the eye of the beholder😉
@@FlipItFurniture Sure it is.
