Overall Answer: Basically Mason did kill JFK and Oswald took the fall. And it’s implied/theorized the credits scene was a piece of film watched by Hudson and had the film destroyed to cover for Mason.
@@Deathmare235 saying there were times they couldnt account for him could just be a way to hide something from the public without saying that they're guilty of it
There's something you missed. In the mission "Revelations" Mason says, "Oswald compromised!" I personally believe there's another possibility. That the conspiracy theory about there being more than one shooter is true in the Black Ops universe. Mason was the second shooter who got away, while Oswald got caught.
Oswald did visit Russia a while before the assassination as well and given Oswald's extensive military background and the fact that he's already an American citizen would've given them the perfect opportunity to brainwash him as well making him another sleeper agent
They could also be playing off the multiple shooters conspiracy… Alex being the other shooter and Oswald being the one taking the fall. This was such a good story and the prison mission remains one of the better missions in COD history.
It’s option 3. He was MIA for five years and he doesn’t remember what he did during those five years. Hudson says there were periods were they couldn’t account for him and that he went rogue. Ending part of revelations.
The line that always threw me off was when Mason says "Oswald...compromised!" Did he know that Oswald was also a sleeper agent, was Oswald and accomplice? And how does that fit into the theory?
Using real world information to infer this, But like Mason, Lee Harvey Oswald was a U.S. Marine, so it's possible that he had had forgone a similar fate to Mason in it that he was captured by the Soviets. Id assume the number sequence would include information related to the identity of other agents in order to avoid complications, it;d be really inconvenient if Mason pulled up to kill the president, saw a glint in the window of a book repository building, and fucked off so that he could kill JFK somewhere else bc he thought there was a CIA sniper up there.

That second theory would make a lot of sense actually, he may have been trying to break the programming from the Soviet's after he escaped. For all we know, he could have also been in that prison with Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ruby as well (Some theorize that Ruby was a sleeper as well because of the fact that he took out Oswald only a couple days after the Assassination of JFK) or just Oswald which could make a ton of sense honestly.
If you sit in the chair on the campaign screen in black ops 1 and not do anything after a while Hudson will say something along the lines of “you killed him mason…there was no one else just you…”

The cia got him in real life and in the game. IMO. The lady reading the number sequence is American and I’m pretty sure it’s the lady blowing smoke at you when you get to the pentagon
Maybe it's aligned more with the multiple shooter theory and that both Mason and Lee Harvey Oswald were at Dallas Texas on November 22 and had no idea that the other was there and while Oswald was in the school book depository Mason was somewhere else and was ready to shoot Kennedy but at the last second broke free from his program and didn't shoot but Kennedy was still shoot for Oswald and when news of JFK death reach Russia Dragovich thought Mason did it and used Oswald as an escape goat
I think that mason was there on security detail and most likely did have everything set up but fought off the urges and didn’t go through with the plan, which is why he says “they tried” in bo2
That's what I'm thinking. 9/11 was a result of a terrorist group committing terrorism. It's pretty simple. The JFK assassination is much more nuanced. I mean his alleged killer was killed just two days after the assassination? And there are reports that shots came from other locations, like the grassy knoll?
My theory is that Mason didn't kill JFK, but tried to protect him and failed. We only see this part of the mission only after Mason learns how to translate the numbers, and the numbers spoken by the woman at the end could have translated to orders to kill JFK.
Dragonich comfirmed mason did kill JFK End of the game Mason: you tried to f with my mind you failed, you tried to turn me against my own, tried to make me kill my own president Dragnvich: *smiles* Tried?

There is another option.. they could've had more than one sleeper agent on that day, just as a failsafe. One IRL conspiracy is that there was more then one shooter, so its not too far off. Maybe Mason did resist, but Oswald didn't.. or someone else. I could possibly see Dragovich's answer being "Tried? [We didn't need you to do it, you're not the only one]"
Love the video and theories In the mission Revelations, Hudson explains everything to Mason of what happend. He says that Reznov sabotaged his mission to kill JFK by giving him 3 new victims, Dragovich, Steiner and Grevchenko, HOWEVER he also says that Mason has gabs in his memory and periods where Mason even went MIA (Missing in action) where he could not be located. This means that there is a possibility your theory is right that Mason is the one who killed Kennedy and he went MIA around November 22, and that is why he is in Texas where JFK was killed and why he doesnt remember it. I think this mistery is incredible. Trejarch really did a great job of involving real life events and making misteries out if it like this one.
In black ops 1 Hudson told Mason that there were missing parts of his timeline during his brainwashing and that they were able to track his whereabouts with the exception of a few months.
In 2010 i was 15 and was straight off the heels of the 3 cods before this one, and this campaign became BY FAR my favorite in the series. The original modern warfare games had their twists and turns and good stories in their own right, but the different layers of treyarchs universe with the different decades, and real historic events just won it for me. Personally I leaned more infinity ward throughout the years in terms of multiplayer, but treyarch campaigns were just on a different level. Especially this one. I reccomend playing Waw then Bo1, if reznov isnt your favorite character by the end and youre not finding yourself enjoying the soviet national anthem youre not doing it right.
Zombies fan here, I love the video and the details. I really need a video on David Mason and why he can see the number sequences. And by far the biggest question, did Menendez brainwash David with the clock he had. Thank you for your research
I think in the Black Ops continuity, Oswald was another sleeper agent. Mason says “Oswald Compromised” in the story at some point and considering he was there as well, it’s possible that they went with the multiple shooters conspiracy, Oswald being the one who got caught and Mason getting away. However I also think that the CIA one is the most plausible as well, they probably set up Oswald and Mason as shooters after seeing that Mason was extremely useful with the brainwashing having been done. They could give him orders and he wouldn’t be able to say no, imagine how easy it would be for them to set Mason up as one of the shooters and since he just never got caught they just kept deploying him
I don't think he is the one that pulled the trigger of the gun that killed JFK but I think he probably set everything up and him being in the picture is him setting the plan in motion. Dragovich does say "tried" before Mason kills him so I have always felt like mason played a part in JFK assassination
Considering he was probably on his way back from Russia - probably not. There is no way, he got back to the USA, was debriefed and then allowed to roam freely (without observation) having undertaken a mission that could have caused ww3
This is one of the oldest cod mysteries ever mason was brainwashed by the Russians as a sleeper agent it makes sense that he could’ve done it this story is just the best
What about after Hudson reveals himself to be the interrogator and Mason punches him and basically goes on a psychedelic trip through the blacksite. He says, “Oswald Compromised” at one point while walking down the hall. I don’t know?
THE era which took COD seriously and actually tried to cater to a consistent fanbase and not the dopamine addicts who rely on their parents VISA for skins and micro transactions
I think it’s the girl that is smoking the cigarette in U.S.D.D it makes sense because if it wasn’t her that why they focus on her when they said “We were watching you the whole time”.
I don't think there's a plot hole with #3: the CIA straight-up might not have known. If Mason doesn't even remember it fully, and since Oswald wasn't able to be interrogated by anyone besides some Dallas cops at a police station before being shot, the CIA wouldn't have gotten any answers about it from either one. In BO1 timeline the CIA might have just fully accepted it was Oswald, or that they'll never get the full story with Oswald dead, so Hudson never would have had a reason to ask Mason about it during interrogation. If he knew about it at all, he certainly would have.
ik you probably dont want to read this but its perfect a d has things you may have not known. alex mason did kill jfk on russian orders because in the ending cutscene it shows that he was there and the mission before mason yell “proceed to target, oswald compromised.” oswald was also in the marine corps and on treyarchs website it says mason was recognized for his sharpshooting skills which coincidentally it also says that about oswald on britannica. they both had probably met at some point in the marines. its perfect. two marines who were recognized for sharpshooting. who both express pro soviet values.
Yeah, I always saw the ending cutscene of Black ops one to be Dragovich's insurance policy. The lady relaying the numbers, real name unknown, Simply identified as The Numbers lady, was simply in lead with Dragovich & his sleeper cells. Hell, Even on the Black ops wiki It states that she broadcasts number sequences to the Soviet Union sleeper agents in United States of America & although it states She's broadcasting from an unknown location somewhere within Havana Cuba. If We check the world map, The Gulf of Mexico separates Texas & Havana opposite sides of one another. 1539 miles apart to be precise. And if we connect real life history events, where it states around JFK's death, there was a possible second shooter aside from Lee Harvey Oswald. Where he was the fall guy who took the first shot, but it was the second shooter that land the killing blow. And if Dragovich's broadcast station was able to spread cross America so close to Cuba, who's to say someone else under his lead would do the same? Not for activating Nova 6, but for mind controlling agents like Mason? Hence why I like to believe, the numbers lady works for Dragovich, the Russians overheard news about JFKs future celebration plans for Dallas Texas, had the numbers lady planted/stationed at Havana with a powerful enough broadcast signal to reach all the way across the Gulf of Mexico to Dallas Texas on the day of JFK's drive through Dallas. Where it was predicted or by peculiar coincidence, that Mason would be around at the time of JFK's Dallas drive, the number signal from the numbers lady reached out to Mason, and by ladies voice relaying the numbers through multiple signal connecting sources, That would evidently connect to, in this case, Mason's tampered psecret service earpiece! Would insured that Dragovich's plan to use Mason to assassinate The president was a success, at a much later date in this context & Not at the Pentagon. Which means, Dragovich still got the last laugh in the end, cuz It was Mason who became the second shooter, The one who turned JFK's brains into wallpaper, with the CIA never finding out who it was from right under their nose, & got away with the kill cuz Lee Harvey Oswald was the fall guy who shot first. which is why we're still able to play as mason through the story all the way through to the end, where JFK is long dead & We're left to deal with Dragovich. The CIA got bamboozled at the worst possible time & would leave investigators scratching their heads for many years to come. Never knowing it was one of their own men under the Russians control or did knew but could not for the life of them, identify who, and Dragovich still got away with it, one way or the other before his timely demise. It's a lot to roll on, but it's the best possible outcome we have. I don't know much about broadcast stations, airwaves or whatever, but If the way black ops one interpretates them to go off by, this how It all went down for JFK's assassination & Mason's involvement in all this.
I still dont think he did wouldnt mason be in prison or killed and if he was with woods and adler during coldwar why would he not mention it? He didnt kill jfk and pretty sure bo1 zombies is set after campaign
When mason was beating dragovich up he said to dragovich that you tried to make me kill my own presdient then dragovich laughed and said tried? Why did dragovich say it like that I found that very suspicious And mason in another scene said oswald compromised Also in the end wasnt mason there in the crowd when kennedy appeared i think mason was the one who killed him and oswald took the blame since techincally he was also there to kill him
Makes sense to me that the CIA might have used Mason to kill Kennedy. If the assassination hadn't happened, Dragovich might have assumed his plans were compromised, gone to ground and restructured the Nova 6 plot. The John Trent emails certainly seem to imply that the CIA had gotten Mason's sleeper code. And that Kennedy was aware of what had to be done with the whole "victory requires sacrifice" bit if I'm remembering right. Dragovich's snide remark just before he's killed seems to support that the CIA's ploy was successful, if such a theory was correct.
There is a video that speaks about Reznov that has the missing piece: There were two sleepers: Mason and Unkown. Unknown is dead according to Reznov and this information takes place after the date that Oswald was killed. He also sends an email to JFK on the day of his killing telling him that Today is his last day and that sacrifice is necessary for victory. Now, Reznov knows that JFK is going to die and he also knows that there are 2 sleepers. It's easy to piece together that the other sleeper is Oswald. But Mason also contributed in some regard without being the one that took the shot and got killed and Reznov must've known this from the get go since he wouldn't let Mason get killed like that, Mason needs to execute his plans. But this also plays to the inside job part of the conspiracy, since Reznov had communication with Hudson before the assasination took place and didn't do anything to avoid it. So he knows what happened and still needed Mason. Last but not least, Mason didn't do it inside the Pentagon because that was not the instruction, he resisted not his programming but his urges to execute his mission thanks to his programming.
Overall Answer: Basically Mason did kill JFK and Oswald took the fall. And it’s implied/theorized the credits scene was a piece of film watched by Hudson and had the film destroyed to cover for Mason.

I wonder
THIS IS THE ONE I WAS HOPING FOR
Dragonich comfirmed mason did kill JFK
End of the game
Mason: you tried to f with my mind you failed, you tried to turn me against my own, tried to make me kill my own president
Dragnvich: *smiles* Tried?
This is making me question everytning. Great video
Option number 5, mason was there, was about to kill jfk, prepared his weapon, then all of a sudden gunfire from another area killed JFK.
This campaign molded me as a person
Lame and mediocre ngl 😂
@@TotallyNotKanye speak for yourself
@@SmfPawgyi feel you bro i was like 11-12 when i got bo1. played and beat the story like 100 times it feels like lol this game definitely had some sort of long lasting impact on my brain chemistry
Love the video and theories
In the mission Revelations, Hudson explains everything to Mason of what happend.
That screeching noise during the meeting haunts my dreams 💀
Yes finally I've been waiting for this video since black ops 1 came out
I remember at the end of the game noticing it , but no one talked about it ! This is pretty cool
Think the "Oswald compromised" line that Mason says might give some weight to #4 or something similar to it
Another good one mate, keep it up
I don’t know if it’s important but in the mission “revelations” when you walk at the corridors Mason says “Oswald compromised”.
I love that TH-camrs are still talking about the older Black Ops games
Inkslasher taking a cut and dried heavily implied event in a game and somehow making it a 10 minute long mystery video
In black ops 1 Hudson told Mason that there were missing parts of his timeline during his brainwashing and that they were able to track his whereabouts with the exception of a few months.
But JFK was Playable in Zombies at the End of the Black ops 1 Campaign
Five was before the end of the
@Deathmare235 no it isnt its in a different timeline because they all died in zombies. Bo4 explains this
Black Ops 1 has the best story in COD history
you can see lee harvey oswalds mugshot during alex masons hallucination while in the pentagon which is interesting
Resnov is in WaW?
This ending still sends chills down my spine Black ops one always sends chills down my spine than any other video game out there
Option 3 makes more sense when you remember that Hudson said that there were periods the cia couldn’t account for mason
Zombies fan here, I love the video and the details. I really need a video on David Mason and why he can see the number sequences. And by far the biggest question, did Menendez brainwash David with the clock he had. Thank you for your research
If this is true in the Call of Duty Black Ops timeline, was the JFK double brainwashed into going into this car and getting shot and killed.
That thumbnail is crazy
Alex was the man hiding in the grassy noll
thats what i think
I personally think it's the grassy knoll conspiracy theory in universe
i believe that
Bo1 was a documentary and bo2 is a prediction I stand by that
this makes sense with how black ops 6 has world momuments defaced
No Mason definitely pulled the trigger, there was no one else
The end credits also like show photos of Mason with JFK if I remember correctly (nvm it was brought up later in the video)
Considering he was probably on his way back from Russia - probably not. There is no way, he got back to the USA, was debriefed and then allowed to roam freely (without observation) having undertaken a mission that could have caused ww3
"WHAT DO THE NUMBERS MEAN MASON?!?!"
"HOW THE #&?!# AM I SUPPOSE TO KNOW"
Anybody else get spooked as a kid first time playing that Pentagon mission with the screaming?
This is one of the oldest cod mysteries ever mason was brainwashed by the Russians as a sleeper agent it makes sense that he could’ve done it this story is just the best
Best cod campaign ever
What about after Hudson reveals himself to be the interrogator and Mason punches him and basically goes on a psychedelic trip through the blacksite. He says, “Oswald Compromised” at one point while walking down the hall. I don’t know?
THE era which took COD seriously and actually tried to cater to a consistent fanbase and not the dopamine addicts who rely on their parents VISA for skins and micro transactions
Make a video about the whereabouts of Adler in Black ops 1 and 2
I wish they would do a campaign remaster just like they did with mw2
I think it’s the girl that is smoking the cigarette in U.S.D.D it makes sense because if it wasn’t her that why they focus on her when they said “We were watching you the whole time”.
Facts
Wow this is so much better than a movies director done it I love the story and thank you for your amazing content ❤❤❤
My theory: the russians brainwashed him to kill jfk.
Hudson knew, and let alex kill jfk. Hudson then covered to alex
But hey. That's just a theory. A GAME THEORY
If he knew about it at all, he certainly would have.
ik you probably dont want to read this but its perfect a d has things you may have not known.
alex mason did kill jfk on russian orders because in the ending cutscene it shows that he was there and the mission before mason yell “proceed to target, oswald compromised.”
oswald was also in the marine corps and on treyarchs website it says mason was recognized for his sharpshooting skills which coincidentally it also says that about oswald on britannica. they both had probably met at some point in the marines. its perfect. two marines who were recognized for sharpshooting. who both express pro soviet values.
Little known fact it’s was officially determined that there was a second shooter irl
In the game while walking through the hallway, Mason states, “Oswald compromised.” What does that mean?
Bros getting me hyped for black ops 6
Why did dragovich say it like that
I found that very suspicious
And mason in another scene said oswald compromised
Also in the end wasnt mason there in the crowd when kennedy appeared i think mason was the one who killed him and oswald took the blame since techincally he was also there to kill him
Makes sense to me that the CIA might have used Mason to kill Kennedy.
There is a video that speaks about Reznov that has the missing piece:
There were two sleepers: Mason and Unkown.
Love all these cool story videos
It was HEAVILY implied that he killed him.
Of course not, the CIA did
So actually yes
Underrated comment
