The best way Alex Mason would be brought in as a Cold War operator is that they establish that Mrs. Mason’s date of death is some time in 1984. David said in the subtitles at 2:49 that his father left when Mrs. Mason died (and if her death was in 1984, David would be five years old). This would make Alex Mason’s temporary retirement at least last two years which would also help explain why his sudden return to active service be unexpected for both Masons.

I really wish we saw a younger David in Cold War. He would’ve been 2 in the campaign and 5 in Multiplayer/Warzone, so it would’ve been interesting to see where his abandonment issues stemmed from.
Idk what’s crazier.. the fact that this game came out 10 years ago, or the fact that the campaign takes place 3 years from now.

@@Deathmare235 I understand what you're saying but it just isn't the same. Take MW 2019 for example, Alex was ignored for most of it. Karim wasn't mentioned after like season 1 etc. etc. I don't know how to explain it to you but it just isn't the same thing

Is is no one gonna talk about the fact that David Mason is 46 years old in the time of BO2 and from the time that he was commissioned as an officer to the time of BO2 he has been serving 29 years and is only reached the grade of O-4 (rank- lieutenant commander). Like my God he had to be the worst officer sailor to be that low in rank with that amount of time in service. And my God he's old AF and looks like he's 25.
Yeah i know how black ops 2 have so many alternate ending like for example: you go to a mission you think its memendez but its alex mason you get to pick to kill him or not kill him woods and david visits alex mason grave not to kill him woods meets mason for such a long time woods says this is your dad david meets his father for so long it depends what did you in alternate chooses

Mason can’t show up while Menéndez is still alive. He had to be placed under witness protection so that Menéndez couldn’t kill him.

The canon ending is actually the one where you kill Menendez, this is proven by a kind of "website" found in BO3´s campaign wich tells the story of Raul Menendez, in wich it states "Menedez was killed by US special forces in May 19th while attempting to escape disguised as friendly forces". So the canon ending is not the one where you capture him, even though it is the best ending. The Cordis Die group saw his death as a "Cowardly one" and the group slowly started to dissappear after his death and a lot of arrests.
@Danny Marcilio Proof of this? Because as long as I know, either he got captured and stayed in jail or given death penalty, killed himself by liting himself on fire or was killed by David
@Danny Marcilio The video actually supports my theory of he being killed by David Mason, the text that he shows says "He was killed by US *special forces* (a.k.a. Seal team six Lt.Commander David Mason) On June 19th (The date the last mission takes place on) while trying to escape a Cordis die military facility (The facility/broadcast station you invade in the last mission wich belonged to Menendez/Cordis die) disguised as friendly forces (In the end you can see him using the Navy seals uniform before killing/capturing him)
Ink´s theory makes some sense, but this theory fits excatly with what the games say
U couldve easily guessed David was born in 1979. How i know cause the 1st mission is set in 1986 and in that year mason tells us how old is David mason. 7 years old.

Corey, David's name is Section cause that's his code name, if you will. Since he's the commander, they decided to give him a cool little name, and they decided on Section for some reason.

BO3 should've been the continued story of David that also included where Mason was for 39 years
He was probably called Section because at one point in his naval career he was a section chief for a group of seals or maybe for a rate (job) in the navy before the seals. My old section chief went by section.
curious if we'll see a young david mason in some cutscenes, show casing how Woods raised him. In BO2 its explained that after Alex dies Woods takes care of David for a while. I hope we get some insight on that and maybe some looks at a 13-year old David's thoughts on all of the situations.

You left out a lot of details and got the timeline wrong. Woods didn't tell David everything right away, David visited Woods multiple times between missions. He didn't know the truth about his father's "death" until before Achilles Heel.

I did some research and found that Section is more of a team name because a lot of people have the same name so you would their team name instead similar to how you would in the military
