Nobody EVER mentions that The Wolf was 100000000% confirmed to be Reznov, it is NOT speculation. In the campaign mission where you play as Reznov and see Demitri killed, the mission starts with Reznov’s name, the date of the mission and the location in which it took place. Along with this “start-of-mission info” it specifically says that “The Wolf” is Reznov’s last known alias. He’s alive.
If we’re talking about the wolf from MW’19, by that point he would be over a hundred and I don’t think he’d be leading a revolution against the Russians. I like the theory though and I will gladly eat my hat if I’m wrong

If there going to Vorkuta it's for 2 things.Either to find out where Reznov went after he escaped or they need something like the number sequence from Vorkuta. Cause if Reznov is dead and so is Alex, then the only 2 people that really understood the number sequence is gone

Bringing Reznov Is a good idea (even if he would be 80 y/o) but Activision confirming the Canon end of Bo2 Is that Mason Is dead they can't have Freedom for both of them
Well as their motto is "The Truth Lies" it does seem strange they would only reveal this info to people at an exclusive event and not tell the wider public. Instead, we get it from the grape vine from those creators who went there. They could be playing their part in the motto since Activision saying what is canon would be the "truth" since in the end the creators choose which is canon whether we like it or not, so naturally we have to trust them. But what if its the truth is a lie to fool us?
We will just need to wait and see I hope personally Mason is alive and we learn why he hid all those years/where. Since I've seen some people bring up that if he did return Martinez would have hunted him and David down since only 2 were allowed to live Woods and David, and so Mason would choose to stay hidden for the sake of David and Woods not being murdered since as we know Martinez has allies in the CIA so he naturally could not go back without alerting Martinez.

Think about it this way he said in multiple videos the developers did not confirm the 2025 parts of BO2 so they may be tryna truck us and he comes back the next black ops game in 2025. Maybe it’s a stretch but I hope mason comes back it’s already sucky that woods is paralyzed in both legs

Reznov could still realistically hide in Vorkuta, the prison irl was closed in 1962 due to De-Stalinization reforms, if Reznov is still alive and kicking in 1991, it is very likely that he would hide out there because the prison was completely abandoned and left to rot by that time
Honestly if reznov is alive it could also give a reasonable explanation for how mason disappeared for 30 years and that when mason supposedly saw reznov in Afghanistan he told mason how to get in touch with him if he were to get into trouble like when woods "killed" mason in black ops 2 and reznov therefore could've helped mason hide from menendez and the CIA

Maybe he is dead but left breadcrumbs for Woods to help out finding the mole in the C.I.A by finding something left at Verkuta prison. Something Reznov left during the cold war before his passing. Something about the soviet's having a mole in the C.I.A which is a Russian who then plans to destroy the U.S after the Soviet Union started to depart...

i always thought reznov was alive because of a very subtle clue. when mason was being brainwashed he saw reznov with short cut hair, unlike how he last saw him. but in bo2, he has his normal hair back, so i do think that was the actual reznov

At the end of the cork it’s mission, Rex of gets surrounded by Russian vehicles. Maybe they just took him back to vorkuta and the reason you go back to vorkuta in bo6 is because you check to find is body or in case he is alive ?

there is still something that I dont understand at all, why does Reznov appear in bo2 if kravchenko, dragovich & steiner are already dead? Like, the mission is done, Reznov has "no reason" to appear in Mason's mind.
I still dont think Reznov survived Vorkuta, they made an archetype of Reznov and I think woods and Savannah are using him to manipulate Mason for some reason.
