My theory about the JFK assassination is that Mason didnt kill him, but was in fact associated with the one who did (Oswald in historical accuracy). This is referenced in the mission where Mason finally breaks free from the chair and you hear him say "Oswald... compromised!" However, Mason himself didnt pull the trigger that killed JFK, but Dragovich, who programmed Mason to do so, didn't catch on to that small detail. This is why Dragovich said "Tried??😈" before Mason chokes him to death, with Mason unaware if he really did it or not. There must be something that happened that proved Mason didn't kill JFK before 1989 during the Panama raid for Mason to confirm that he didnt kill JFK by responding to McKnight saying "they gave it their best shot" when McKnight asked Mason if he really got that fucked up with the numbers. To dumb it down simply, TLDR, Mason didn't kill JFK, but Dragovich didn't know that. He heard Kennedy died, but only thought Mason did his job at the assassination but was in fact someone else This campaign was, in my opinion, the darkest campaign in all COD history, on a psychological level
Honestly it started going downhill after they did futuristic campaign they should have followed It up with the conspiracy of mason killing jfk and reznov being alive
The thing I hate about new Cods, is they get new actors for no reason. Sure, getting a new Price actor made sense cause they wanna do mo cap and shit and the OG actor is an old man now, but Mason, Woods didn't need to be replaced at all, James C Burns even said he was disappointed he didn't get asked back and wanted it. If they bring back Reznov in future games he most likely won't be voiced by Garry Oldman and the character will be a watered down version. Just look at Makarov in MW III, he doesn't even look like a villian or suit the Makarov role, Cod ruins characters with this rebooting garbage.
Not to mention how they just decided to say “ehh f*ck it let’s make gaz black” for some f*cking odd reason, like wtf is that bs? I get it Hollywood is all about inclusivity and what not now but there was already two legendary black characters in the games in sgt Griggs and sgt Foley🤦♂️

@@Deathmare235 yes you know we first meet see reznov in world at war then in black ops one we play as Viktor reznov when dragovich and kravchenko go to meet Steiner for the nova 6 gas
Might be a longshot but a newish character we haven't seen since the flashback missions in BO2 that wouldn't make a bad protagonist for Gulf War...McKnight. For those of you who remember the beginning of the mission in Panama, Woods and Mason share a beer with a soldier they seem to know, who is living in Panama with his family, Mark McKnight He seems to be tight with Woods and Mason and also knows a bit about Mason and the numbers. He seems to have vanished after that, but what if we see him again in Gulf War, seeing as that would take place before Panama?
In some screenshots for the game, I did see a couple soldiers and maybe one of them is McKnight. I basically forgot about that guy completely after bo2
Personally i do think bo3 was…bo3 because they simply had nothing to do with the black ops story anymore. With knowing how the bo3 story went they still tried to go the sleeper agent route yet futuristically. I feel like they couldve made a group or supporters who were siding with menendez to do whatever tf they were doing in bo3 and instead of being weird they couldve made a virus that turned someone into another menendez to carry his “legacy”
It would be an amazing twist to see him more in gulf war or maybe they mention how he’s off the grid entirely and mason asks about where he could be and Hudson gives him an answer. I would love to see what the numbers could mean, but with an in depth analysis. I feel like the numbers could correlate with zombies in a way
The biggest question that I had about this game was what events actually happened and what events were just in Mason's head, that is the genius behind this game, it's not just an FPS game, it's also a psychological thriller to an extent. It's also cool how Mason's visions of Reznov basically give him strength and helps him through desperate moments.
Gotta admit, it is very possible that Reznov is alive based off those emails. I never played BO4 tho so I have no idea about the story behind that record but has anyone ever noticed how after Mason jumps on the train then turns around for Reznov, you can’t actually see him in the truck? Given that no one else from the CIA was in vorkuta with Mason, they would only know what happened based on whatever he told them. Mason is most certainly an unreliable narrator during that time and that mission is most certainly played from how he remembers it. Now I’m not too into wild conspiracy theories but another thing that has bugged me is the fact that we can hear Reznov very clearly when he is supposedly across the tracks, in a truck with the windows rolled up. Being directly outside of a train would make hearing someone yelling even just 10 ft away from you hard to hard clearly. The only way this would make sense is if we are actually hearing his speaking in Mason’s head there What if Reznov was never actually in that truck or used it as a decoy and found another way to escape then went into hiding all those years? It would definitely make more sense than him somehow escaping after him getting surrounded by all the vorkuta guards in the truck and could still allow for everything else in the video to be true
I believe Mason did end up killing JFK, or was at least a second shooter, simply for 3 reasons. 1. He has a flashback of pointing a gun to Kennedy to kill him. 2. When he kills Dragovich he says “You tried to make me kill my own President” and Dragovich responds with “Tried?” hinting that he did in fact do it. 3. When he’s walking through the CIA building in Revelations, he’s constantly having flashbacks which he makes remarks about. One of which he says “Oswald compromised” hinting at Oswald getting taking into custody after JFK’s assassination and also hinting at his involvement since he knew about it.
You have to remember that masons brainwashing was tampered with so he never killed Kennedy but apart of his brain still had that weird flash of him pulling the gun on Kennedy. It is assumed that many people from that camp he was at with victor were brainwashed to kill Kennedy
@@davikghst9498 He can be alive only in the flashback missions, '86-'89. Woods was born in 1930 and is 95yo in 2025, Reznov would be 112... So yeah no chance.
It would be awesome to have a couple videos go over the Terminal from Black Ops. So much lore is hidden in there that i’ve never been able to unturn myself
I wish there was a black ops game set in the 70s, with woods as the main playable character, starting from his supposed “death” and escaping kravechenko. Also explains if mason really killed jfk and how it got covered up, and what happened in 1978 when the CIA tried to kill Mason Hudson and Weaver. So many mysterious plot holes
Years go by and black ops 1 continues to deliver more and more even when the relevancy of the game died. This has got to be top 3 COD games and one of the best games ever made.
I'm convinced now. It's funny how alot of people don't take the CoD Plots all that seriously (and rightfully so), but then Treyarch is like "what if we treat it seriously" and gives us one of the best stories in FPS history.... And Black Ops 3.
@@alexsilva28I've only seen clips of the Neptunia model swap mod, never the unmodded campaign, but whenever I think of BO3, I think of Noire saying "Train go boom"
I always assumed he didnt die, because we didnt see him die, and you just get told by Hudson, and considering he was in WAW and BO1, as a pretty important character, and we just see him drive off with no dramatic death scene, I always expected him to pop up and join Mason again, and that recording pretty much proves it, I hope we see him again
The black ops series has always been my favorite and bo2 easily my favorite from the campaign to the multiplayer and zombies it’s unmatched! Keep up the good work I’m very excited for the next videos on it!
@Deathmare235 did you see the video? Obviously he wouldn't be alive In the present day but during the cold war? Definitely. As far as purpose, maybe not but he's a fan favorite. Personally I think he's better than Captain Price (the reboot version)
You know it be kinda crazy if the reason they can revive people in BLack ops 4 is because their using element 115 it be a neat way to tie in zombies in the whole storyline.
I just read from another comment that if you delay jumping off the truck onto the train, Reznov drives into a blockade and the truck flips over. Maybe it’s the same animation that shows on the Wii?
Hudson is very much a liar and manipulator, so the fact we only learned of Reznov's alleged death from Hudson, it makes sense to remember Hudson has alterative motives. In that case it was getting Mason off his obsession with Reznov and focused on the numbers. As the emails showed Hudson could have figured out John Trent was Reznov and it influenced his decisions to tell Mason that Reznov never made it out of prison. Will be interesting if Treyarch is interested in bringing Reznov back again in the next games since Reznov will be nearly 100 years old during the Gulf war. Maybe some more flashback missions will be used.
“Reznov is dead, all those appearances were in Mason’s head.” First, that doesn’t confirm he is dead. It means Mason believes he is dead and can’t cope with that idea. Second, that doesn’t explain Reznov in Afghanistan giving them the supplies they need to survive, Mason can’t conjure these things from thin air, and the Mujahideen were not close by. Third, every major character that dies in call of duty has it happen on screen, either mid mission or in a cutscene. At the very least there’s some kind communication where they get cut off because of an explosion or collapse like with Sandman, but usually in those cases they survive, like Woods and Krevchenko exploding off screen and both surviving. Even Dimitri, who we play as in WaW, we see die on screen next to Reznov from the nova 6 gas, a character not nearly as important in BO1. Fourth, as Cold War has let us experience, memory implantation is regularly performed by the CIA on agents, be it their own or ones they captured, and it’s highly likely Hudson brainwashed Mason when he returned to make him believe Reznov is dead, since Reznov is a communist, and therefore would be seen as a threat to the higher ups at the CIA, who have a vested interest in maintaining capitalism. They can’t have an agent compromised by having a communist ally.
Gotta admit, it is very possible that Reznov is alive based off those emails. Dude finally! I’ve been talking about this for literally 10 years and never seen a video on it, in BO2 mason and woods are betrayed and left for dead in the desert after the horse mission, they are saved by reznov… it was NEVER explained.
The whole "If there is no body, there is no death" rule applies to all CoD games. Sadly for Soap, there was a body. But for Black Ops, I can't wait for the next one.
Everyone talks about Reznov not missing a finger in black ops 2 but the story is being told by Woods and he tells what Mason had seen, but the reason Resnov looks different is because Woods never saw him and hadn't seen him since he lost his finger, so its not impossible that was actually him even with his finger still being intact
I have a theory.Reznov has been tracking Alex Mason since the end of the Vorkuta Mission. But As we know Reznov is patriotic meaning he will not fight against his country but he still wants to help Mason so he gives out some information to the CIA and Saves Mason in Afghanistan
The most mysterious in the entire cod series is the black ops series its so turned and twisted that even after many years many mysteries still leave us confused.
If you wait a few seconds longer to jump on the train you see Viktor's truck stop and flip when he gets to the blockade on the road. He didn't just "Ride off into the sunset" This doesn't mean he's dead
The project nova mission in Black Ops was my favourite mission in that game for sure. The way that the music from WAW started up part way through was very nostalgic
My father was a musician in Stalingrad. During the German occupation, the sound of his violin filled the air with magnificent music - Korsakov, Stasov - many of the great nationalist composers. To my countrymen, it was a symbol of hope. To the Germans, it was a symbol of defiance. Even now, his music still haunts me. The Nazis slit his throat while he slept. Collaborating with any Nazi is a betrayal, a betrayal against all of Mother Russia . One of the best back story ever still gives me chills
I had a conspiracy in my head back in the day that maybe he was taken back to Dragonvich, Kravchenko and stiener and maybe they executed him themselves
Reznov didn't die in vorkuta, he was taken back as a prisoner. But all of black ops 1 when mason was seeing him were in fact hallucinations, he wasn't there in any of the missions, but he was alive and stuck in vorkuta for another 5-10 years. Then later in black ops 2 he came back. It was a mind fuck to mason that he saw him again and thought it was another hallucination
This is something interesting that I remember from the black ops 1 vorkuta escape mission at 6:28 before Reznov was about to open the big doors with the rest of the prisoners against a LMG Viktor Reznov said to mason “victory cannot be achieved without sacrifice Mason”. This makes me believe that Reznov used the same quote as in vorkuta. NVM Inkslasher came to it first😢
This is a great video the only really contradiction with the Reznov being alive because of Black Ops 2 scene is Call of Duty Waw. In one half of the Waw campaign Reznov is a provident side character. So assuming Reznov was younger in those games that take place during world war 2 like in his 20s or 30s during the time he would have saved the boys in bo2 Reznov would have been in his 60s or 70s and the age he has in that scene doesn’t reflect someone who’s basically a senior citizen at that point.
there is something about makalrov making appearens he appear in cod 1 as a sergeant and appear as a commitioner in world at war it make me thinking that was his dad fighting in world war 2
FINALLY! someone talking about this, ive been waiting for a decade for someone big to mention the code asking you if resnov truly is who he says he is in more than just a joke
This right here is why BO1 campaign is so unbelievably good and honestly why treyarch campaigns are on another level than the others. I mean dang it’s literally been FIFTEEN YEARS and we’re still talking about this game. BO6 is centered around CIA operations just like BO1 and man I could not be more excited..
I think we can dismiss that audio file from BO4 because it was a completely different story and it also wasn’t meant to be anything more than some backstory to the Blackout Game mode
Btw zombies is canon to the black ops storyline. It was the zombies story that brought us the new mw universe after Nikolie destroyed the multiverse connected to the ather that kept black ops 1 and 2 but now is free from zombies till cold war.
One thing I noticed with Black Ops 2, is that "Reznov" shows up after Mason, Woods, and Zhao were betrayed. This event happens right after Kravchenko was killed. Sure, Reznov couldve been a hallucination, but it could also have been Reznov himself. He couldve been watching from a distance. The reason he knew where you find you was because he was tracking down Kravchenko, and Mason just so happened to be there. Reason he didnt stick around after saving Mason in BO2 was because he wanted Mason and himself to move on. Reznov's goal was complete, and felt that some things are better left unanswered. He was a man of mystery to begin with. Plus, with him not answering things, it would always keep Mason thinking about him, and the memories Mason had made. Reason he didnt join in the fight was because he was too old, and the battle against Kravchenko was intense. If it had been a more strategic fight (like the sniper duel in WaW), Reznov may have shown up. Regardless, this doesnt prove he was the one to rescue, just something i thought of and explained the potential reasoning
Reznov’s been dead for five years. He died in vorkuta during the escape. All those times you thought he was with you, that was just in your mind!!!! - I trusted him That’s why it worked!!!
If Reznov is still alive in the new COD I wouldn’t be surprised. They would wait all 14 years to keep the secret, one of the biggest, if not the biggest outright mystery in the entire COD universe. I really hope Reznov is alive, I would probably cry if I saw the guy in glorious 1440p. Last time I saw our boy Viktor was when I was 14…….

The biggest question i have is how will they combine the bo2 story with mw reboot story when it’s almost hit 2025 because since cold war is a sequel to bo1 and prequel to bo2 as well as part of the warzone story and have mw reboot’s Imran Zakhaev
Alex Mason killing JFK or not will always be a mystery even BO2 and BO1 gave clues but no answers and i think that's good and what makes the end scene of BO1 shocking and goosebumps. He is like the 2nd killer conspiracy.

He heard Kennedy died, but only thought Mason did his job at the assassination but was in fact someone else
This campaign was, in my opinion, the darkest campaign in all COD history, on a psychological level
No he did kill Kennedy, his response to McKnight in Panama was just a lie, he ain’t gonna admit he lost
Please do a video on this!!!
Great comment
As far as it seems in real life the Russians had to check to see that it wasn't one of their guys who killed JFK as they were not even sure
Damn. That's a good one
I wish they had campaigns like this again
No joke, I played most of the campaigns over the past decade(except MWII and MWIII), and recently played WAW and BO1’s. No doubt, BO1 hit hard!
Black Ops Cold War had a pretty similar concept to the first Black Ops game tbh and it was so good. One of the last good cod campaigns
@@bloodhound1182 yeah I also liked Cold War’s campaign. I played that one before BO1’s, and instantly realized it was like an homage/throwback
They were so great! I loved spending hours playing them again!
Reznov was bought back in bo4 and he didn’t have his actual voice
New Makarov looks like Ben Shapiro
Old makarov looked like an edgy teen who has a heroin problem
"im a fucking onion Mason"
"MY WOODS WOULD NOT SAY THAT. HE WOULD NEVER SAY "iM a fUCKiNg oNIon Mason"
The JFK assassination sub-plot seems intriguing, would be good to have a video on that

Dead or alive victor reznov left an impact both in the black op games and ours lives, truly a memorable character, most quotable character too.
Let’s be honest he’s only gonna be in that mission, they’re definitely gonna forget about him though would be nice if he plays a small role in gw
Gulf war takes place after panama
In some screenshots for the game, I did see a couple soldiers and maybe one of them is McKnight. I basically forgot about that guy completely after bo2

I feel like the numbers could correlate with zombies in a way
Or if we see him in the bo 2 sequel
He’d be in his late 70s to early 80s
Hudson and Mason are dead
Knowing CoD, the numbers probably are launch codes for nuclear missiles
@@Deathmare235 Mason is thought to be dead at this time, but not actually dead provided you get the best ending in BO2 (shot him in the leg)
The only way this would make sense is if we are actually hearing his speaking in Mason’s head there
What if Reznov was never actually in that truck or used it as a decoy and found another way to escape then went into hiding all those years? It would definitely make more sense than him somehow escaping after him getting surrounded by all the vorkuta guards in the truck and could still allow for everything else in the video to be true
No
I believe Mason did end up killing JFK, or was at least a second shooter, simply for 3 reasons.
Also at the end of the game you can see Mason in the crowd of people before JFK gets in his car before the assassination.

Ive played BO1 on the Wii, it maybe a mandela effect but i specifically remember Reznov's truck flipping to its passenger side
I remember that as well
I just read from another comment that if you delay jumping off the truck onto the train, Reznov drives into a blockade and the truck flips over. Maybe it’s the same animation that shows on the Wii?
It never flipped but i only played on Pc, maybe they changed it for the wii
I never played BO4 tho so I have no idea about the story behind that recording but has anyone ever noticed how after Mason jumps on the train then turns around for Reznov, you can’t actually see him in the truck?

Everyone talks about Reznov not missing a finger in black ops 2 but the story is being told by Woods and he tells what Mason had seen, but the reason Resnov looks different is because Woods never saw him and hadn't seen him since he lost his finger, so its not impossible that was actually him even with his finger still being intact

Patriotic? I’m pretty sure he’s no longer a soldier anymore, he even says so himself and staged a prison escape against Russian soldiers
The most mysterious in the entire cod series is the black ops series its so turned and twisted that even after many years many mysteries still leave us confused.

I would love to see more videos of unsolved mysteries of black ops
