Thanks for your so interesting and complete reactions: you talk about vocal technique, interpretation and feelings. I've always loved Italian since I was a kid: I've always loved to listen to italian music, opera and italian "classics" and I could fairly understand Italian because it's somewhat similar to Portuguese and because in Portugal we don't dub things I've always read the subtitles to understand more. Until 5 yrars ago I used to understand maybe 40% but now I listen to italian videos (like your reactios) or interviews of my favorite italian singers, and now I pretty much understand everything (in this video I just didn't know which was the italian word for betrayl). Thank you so much for your beautiful reactios! 🇵🇹🇮🇹

Quando mi è arrivata la notifica che la tua recensione era online ero in macchina e stavo guidando.. Quindi l'ho ascoltata con gli auricolari Bluetooth. Ho sentito questa canzone centinaia di volte, ma ancora guidando avevo i brividi. Sicuramente una delle più belle canzoni scritte da Lara Fabian, purtroppo si autobiografica perché parla della fine della sua relazione sentimentale dell'epoca con il compositore Walter Afanassiev, in seguito al tradimento di lui. E francamente, ma come può uno tradire una donna così bella e talentuosa?? 😮😮😮
A Roma si dice "chi ha il pane non ha i denti" Bah ...
Bellissima interpretazione, bellissima lei, bellissima melodia liberamente inspirata al "Concerto nr. 2 in C minor" del famoso compositore russo S. Rachmaninov.
Lara Fabian è fra l'altro diplomata in pianoforte e chiaramente conosce bene i grandi compositori classici.
In questa reaction descrivi benissimo le sue qualità e seguendoti noto che sei preparato ed efficace nelle tue spiegazioni tecniche. Sicuramente qui Lara mette in risalto alcune delle sue (tante) qualità , oltre a quello di cui hai parlato già tu. (Risonanza, interpretazione e dinamica)
Il suo incredibile controllo della respirazione, soprattutto nel sostenere lunghe note acute in voce di testa, che non è assolutamente facile da fare. La dizione e pitch sempre perfetti, la sua peculiarità nel dare colore a ogni parola e soprattutto il modo in cui "chiude" le vocali e consonanti finali, sempre ben sostenute e assolutamente chiare e cristalline, anche se in soffiato.. Il modo in cui muove e posiziona bocca e labbra per trovare la risonanza voluta e ricercata.
Fantastica, un vero e proprio "mostro" di tecnica come giustamente hai sottolineato tu. Giacomo ti mancano ancora tante bellissime performance di Lara, ma vale veramente la pena ascoltarle.
Oltre "Adagio, Je suis malade,
Caruso e Perdere L' amore " che hai già recensito, e all'odierna "Broken Vow" naturalmente, ci sono altre tre sue performance che sono considerate da tutti veramente qualcosa di fantastico per tecnica di esecuzione e interpretazione e il nostro amico e grande esperto Eric😊 ti ha lasciato i links:
Il duetto con Jhonny Halliday in" Requiem pour un fou", live in Paris 1998.
Il suo medley di "Yentl" di Barbra Streisand (di cui Lara è una grande fan) , live concert in Montreal 1997.
Il suo live di "Dites-moi porque je l'aime" 1998.
E per vedere quanto il suo pubblico la ama (e se lo merita tutto) ti consiglio la versione live di " Je t aimè" live in Paris 2001 e "Humana" live version 2006 (Un regard 9 live tour).
Bellissimo per composizione e dinamica il "bridge" prima del ritornello finale (15.30) e molto efficace la grinta e distorsione vocale su "Bitterness and Lies" (15.45)
E il modo in cui alla fine del bridge si allontana per qualche secondo dal centro del palco per poi farne rientro subito dopo.. Presenza scenica fantastica, assolutamente padrona del palco, e secondo me un chiaro messaggio a colui che l'ha tradita... Torna davanti al pubblico in tutto il suo splendore, con la sua femminilità e sensualità, con tutta la fragilità e vulnerabilità del mondo e senza assoluta vergogna.. Come per dire.. "Guarda cosa ti perdi tu che hai deciso di tradirmi" ..

Hai ragione la giusta definizione per Lara è proprio: " magica"!
The music of Broken Vow was co-composed by Walter Afanassiev and Lara Fabian.
Walter Afanassiev, an american/brazilian from russian descent, is a legendary composer and producer (he composed some of the greatest initial hits of Mariah Carey such as All I Want for Christmas is You and was the producer of the Titanic soundtrack that brought Celine Dion to WW fame). He is also now the producer of Dimash for his US career.
When this song was composed, Walter and Lara were engaged, but apparently he cheated and she decided to break up. When she took this decision, that she knew would dramatically change both her personal and professional destiny, she wrote these incredible lyrics.
Lara has said this is her preferred english song from all the songs she wrote in this language (there are many, and some are pure jewels).
One reason is also because this song has then been covered by the greatests:
- Barbra Streisand (she performed it in concerts from one of her tour but never recorded it),
- Josh Groban (his cover made this song famous in US, she is her friend and role model and he made several duets with her),
- Cakra Khan,
- Gigi de Lana,
- Regine Velasquez,

Regarding Jackie Evancho, and at the request of Jackie's parents who found the original lyrics were not a good fit for a young girl, Lara rewrote Broken Vow in french as "Imaginer" with a complete different meaning.
