What colour is your car? Competition red Meh.... What colour is your car? Rosso Competizione Wow... so much heritage and passion and beauty Gotta love the italian language
Love that car, but was very disappointed when I found out back then it was so limited production. Such beauty, 1000s should have been made to brighten up our roads.
A great fusion of Maserati and Alfa Romeo. Beautiful styling, sonorous sound, bravo. I hope Stellantis can see this as an example of how to use their wonderful engineers and back catalogue of designs.
When Alfa have got a car with winning looks, they seem very comfortable to stick on a shed load of money for the more exclusive models. See what they've done with the new Giulia GTAm. But this car, the 8C Spider, in my mind is one of the most beautiful cars ever built. I notice that second hand they are about £200k. Not quite an investment for those that bought it 11 years ago, but I suspect it will hold or even increase in value from here on and for the fun you get out of it then I see no reason not to have a big fat smile on your face. Great job Alfa. And nice review.
Sl 65 amg was similar money when new but this was money better spent. Also the prototype 8C was manual , considering this was limited production they should have retained the 3 pedal setup.
Actually they didn't make 500 8C Spiders. Alfa got way too greedy with the 8C Spider and the GBP64k price hike over the Competizione was considered atrocious by many. Couple that with the severe recession of 2008-2010, in the end only 329 8C Spiders were built.
Actually, only about 330 were produced despite claims 500 would be built, making the Spider more rare than a coupe, more rare than a Ferrari SuperAmerica, more rare than a 500 Barchetta, etc.
I love Alfa, I own 2 of them, but my god they're SUCH a frustrating company. Why limit something so amazing to 1000 units total? The decision to go fwd in the 90s/00s, no manual in the 4C. They can do amazing things, like the 8C and the Giulia quadrifoglio but it needs to be more available and not just for the super rich!
The Alfa Romeo 8C is a beautiful car to look at, but to say it's one of the most beautifully-styled cars of the last 50 or 100 years is a stretch. Certainly it's in the conversation for any car produced in the last 20 years though.
Certainly not Alfa’s finest. If there was ever ONE thing that is Alfa, its ”the perfect driving tool”. Which means handling & the hand-in-glove feel of driving. The 8C has good looks and a nice sounding Ferrari engine, but thats pretty much it, they say.
I genuinely think the 159 looks better than this. The 4C isn't bad, It's just overrated because Clarkson's whole take was how good it looked and average it drove.

Indeed. Quattroporte: Four door.
Love that car, but was very disappointed when I found out back then it was so limited production. Such beauty, 1000s should have been made to brighten up our roads.
Best looking car ever.
and best sounding.
One of the best standard exhaust notes ever!
A great fusion of Maserati and Alfa Romeo. Beautiful styling, sonorous sound, bravo.

I got a 4C and I truly truly hope one day I will own a 8C coupe. So help me God!
Absolutely terrific review. Really enjoyed that. Great portrayal of what this car is about. That sound!!!! Gorgeous.

Ah! The combustion engine. The best.

Only once seen an 8C out in the wild. Many years back passing through Water End just outside Hemel.
That V8 sounded very nice indeed. Reminded me of my weekend in a 5.0 V8 TVR Griffith😎
11:19 unconscious bias - what’s to say the house is not owned by a woman 🤔 great video 😀
looks great very special
The 8C Coupe is one of the best looking cars ever! Chopping off the top hurt the looks.
Couldn't disagree more.
Absolutely gorgeous

Happy Boy - Lucky Man , with the exception of the GT 40 best looking sports car ever ! Great video !
4:27 “a look under the hood”???? Are we suddenly in America? It’s a bonnet ffs.
The hood is the black thing that keeps the rain off your head.
Would you rather have: the Coupe or the Spider? I'm torn. I love convertibles but the Coupe is an overall more convincing work of art.
Why not both?
@@baloosd Chh. Well, if we’re going there, might as well throw in a Porsche by Singer to boot. 😆
@@davidhunternyc1 Your terms are acceptable.

always the coupe. without a doubt. look at it. if u get the spider, u ll regret it forever. the silhouette is what its all about!
ماشاءالله أخت ال LFA .

I knew a guy who owned a coupe, he loved the sound and the look but he said he didn’t drive very good, so he sold it for a 458.

Has my 159 ti centre vents lol, 159 interior is more luxurious well my ti is anyway, but that 8c sound us unbeatable.
One reason for the price increase is the coupe had steel brakes whereas the Spider has carbon ceramic brakes.
Ahhh..yeah that'll do it :D
OMG WOW ALFA ROMEO 8C🔺️🔻🔴♥️🚘
Incredible

Yes please... God knows what it's worth today
FACT: abs-olutely is the most overused word by car reviewers.
Trying far too hard; change reviewer for serious buyers. Quad exhausts each side?
looks like a TVR. probably designed by the same guy
I will take my BRG XK8 coupe any day......now that is a gorgeous car
wow
This is the TVR Sagaris with scene tax
Great face, shocking rear.
Makes me wonder how much one pays to have a review before the auction and where the 195,000 pounds is going. Lol
Neat little car but I don't get the gushing. I think he's way over the top about it actually.
Yeah...nah its a bit of a bad combo. The Spider they made loads of and even if you are banking on it as an example of the best you will never drive it
Hard to get excited about this car with this plonker reviewing it 😂
Get a new reviewer / salesman, this guys cheese makes me feel queasy!
I've never understood the fascination with this car. I don't think it's beautiful at all. It's a bit chunky and far too retro.
I genuinely think the 159 looks better than this. The 4C isn't bad, It's just overrated because Clarkson's whole take was how good it looked and average it drove.
Someone described it as the Scarlett Johanson of cars, if that helps.
