Alfa Romeo have made some fantastic cars over the years, and with special access to the storage at the Museo Storico, let's check out the very finest! From Formula 1 winners, to the exceptionally valuable 33 Stradale, and right through to the brand new GTAm.
Oh my god, Alfa made some utterly gorgeous cars. Like just look at those wedges. Such an underrated company for design. Both Alfa and Lancia were the iconic companies back then. What I'd do to see that glory created in modern times. There just isn't much quite like it these days.
@PJ Almighty sadly I don’t think lambo is gonna make any smooth lined cars soon since their design language has changed to angular lined cars instead (starting from the countach)
Underrated company for design? Lol It's the best car company in the world for design. No car reviewer ever criticises alpha for its design. They're faults in their build up but never on design. From alpha romeo designers you see many other cars in the world come to fruition.
The three-pointed star may be even greatest, but the alpha is more beloved . At least five models I would own for life, especially from the fifties. What s da Vinci in the art world, Alfa is in the automotive industry.
Great video about all the stylish beauty and race power Alfa Romeo created... We met you filming the magnificent 33 Stradale during our visit at the museum. My sons were very impressed seeing a TH-camr in real life.. 👍
No Shmee, You walked straight past Larini's '93 155 DTM without even a nod! But I do understand that it must has been very difficult to keep yourself composed with all the sensory overload! What an amazing place! Thank you for an excellent video!
So much amazing history of rare magnificent Alfa Romeo automobiles and technology all squeezed in just under 19 minutes. Tim, well done! Loving this vlog here in Nairobi, Kenya. Keep up the good work
Well, wow. That was not only educational but mind boggled at your history knowledge about all the cars. Very fluid and awesome to watch. Certainly opened my eyes about the history of Alfa’s.
The Alfa museum looks fantastic, could spend days there. What a mecca for any car enthusiasts.Did they have a Orange Montreal in there with Tornado black mirrors and quad Ansa exhaust? I love a museum filled with iconic surprises my favourite is the Udvar Hazy in Chantilly,But I think the Alfa museum would top that.
No one does it quite like Alfa Romeo, truly the best company in my opinion, I still wish they had put the Nuvola into production, they should use the same design and make it now
I'm a simple man, I see a 33 Stradale and I hit like. I mean has any car before or since made such a glorious sound? Has any car before or since looked so good? Utter perfection.

Terrific video. I love Alfa, especially the cars from the '30s, the stradale, and the Alfetta race cars. But not a single Alfetta GTV from the '70s, and you walked past a GTV6 without comment.
Thanks for this vid. I'll be visiting the museo in a couple of weeks so it's great to get a preview! Especially to area that I may not get to with your VIP access!
WOW A fantastic historical experience to see these iconic cars,Alfa Romeo Stradale 33 wow...so many to describe these cars..i am totally flabbergasted. I FEEL so proud to be a Alfa Romeo owner since 1975 December Berlina 2000, 3 of them,Alfa 33 and currently the 156 Alfa Romeo V6 sportwagon..
As an American, I haven't had a lot of exposure to Alfa, other than what I have read up on and come across in LA. This video almost felt like a historical timeline video that had a well thought out production. Great video, Tim! Thank you.
Wow pretty much every car in this collection is absolutely beautiful and all are interesting in their own way. Hope that I got to visit this museum some day. I've always been drawn to the Alfa marque, my first car at age 17 (legal driving age in the UK) was a 147 1.6 twin spark petrol in the classic Alfa red. Cost a hell of a lot to insure! I was aware Alfa had quite the history but didn't know the scale of it and all the amazing cars very few people probably know about until watching this video, so thanks Shmee. It's a shame that Alfa isn't as successful a maruqe as Audi, BMW etc. It would be great if they were the Fiat Group's genuine equivalent to those big German brands with a full model lineup from supermini to supercar & SUV to luxury saloon all with the lovely Alfa styling. Unfortunately we just get the Giulia, Stelvio and lower end Guilietta as the only current models. No attractive coupe or Spider model, MiTo and hotter Guilietta discontinued rather than updated models being brought in. Even the little MiTo looked lovely and I'd be very interested in buying one if they were updated, especially if they had a QV model with around 200bhp to properly match other small hot hatches whilst beating them all with the Alfa style. I've read a while back they were considering a RWD Guilietta replacement but with the current motorcar climate I doubt that's the route they'd take - even BMW has changed their 1 series from RWD to FWD or 4WD. I'm still happy that despite the limited lineup they are making some great cars and hope that will give them the momentum they need to become a popular maruque that has a demand for various models.I'm sure we will see a coupe & Spider model at some point as they could do that with the Giulia platform and easily produce a desirable car if the looks back up the Alfa name. I really do hope I end up becoming an Alfa Romeo owner again! Even better if it's that stunning Tipo 33 Stradale, as others have commented it really is one of the most beautiful cars ever. Only a spare £10m or so needed...
Thanks for the video tour Shmee. Had planned on going there this year for 110th anniversary and than Corona-19 hit :-( I am an old ALFA fan (72 years old) ....my first car was a 1969 ALFA spider bought new when I lived in San Francisco and kept for over 40 years before selling to a collector to make garage space for a 2015 4C Launch Edition also bought new....love both cars. If I had garage space I would still have both. Also ran a 67 GTV in B Sedan SCCA road racing for two years. Over the years I have had the opportunity to drive a real GTA, SZ, and GTZ-1. Members of my AROC in Detroit chapter in Michigan have a 8C., another real GTA, and a few older ALFAs in concourse shape. There are also a couple of GTAm clones in the club that are amazing. There is also a company near Detroit called RCR (Race Car Recreations) that built all the race cars in the Ford vs. Ferrari movie. They are building a few 33 Stradale replicas that are excellent.....with Maserati engines and choice of fiber glass or aluminum bodies and all CNC suspension. One of my club members is planning on getting one. I am happy with my 4C but always lusted after a GTZ-1. ALFA...."Always Looking For Another"
Been there... amazing place, those 1930's 8C race cars still makes me gag and seeing them up close was just emotional. There's another small privately owned Alfa museum with an 8C raced by Nuvolari - almost made me cry!
Alfa Romeo made some great cars. Cars that are still extremely OP in the Forza series to this day too lmao. I love "classic" cars so much, the design and elegance.
I've owned many of these. The 75 sedan, the Spider Veloce, the 164S and two new Giulia models. Not one problem with any of those cars, while I owned them. Zero failures or any issues at all. The brand is not respected enough. Its a true Italian gem !
Didn’t know I’d be learning about tractors from a Shmee video! That Romeo tractor is an IHC Titan that was licensed for them to sell under the Romeo name. Very cool!
I can't believe you briefly showed the Tipo 33/2 and 33/3 Le Mans racers in the distance and then totally skipped them! Some of the coolest race cars of all time. Otherwise awesome video! Gorgeous cars all around.
Hi Shmee, just wondering if you did see the 156GTAm? Alfa Romeo Museum showed it once on Instagram. However they never show us more of it. Great video though, cheers!!
I notice a distinct lack of Alfa GT's, i wonder if they have one in there somewhere, i only wonder because i own one! Would love to road trip it down to the museum one day.
