Always like these vids. Good info so people can make educated buys. I almost got a 2200 for my 3v from u guys but in the end decided on the edelbrock tvs. I asked a LOT of questions on the phone ! Next is some Detroit rockers and long tubes! Some time lapsed install videos from u guys might be cool so DIY dummys like myself have an idea what they are getting themselves into and a quick reference to look at if they get in a pinch ;)

@@totljag1 it's bad ass. I have the stage 0 with no other mods except a high flow cat X. The car dynoed 420 to the tires on a 80° super humid day with some big heavy saleen 20" wheels on it. The brenspeed tune is on point and basically still has the manners and drivability of stock. The only thing I'd say is if you're looking for blower whine the e series is not for you. It's a ghost under the hood. U can see my car and dyno pull on my channel.

I have a moddbox supercharger Kit in my 3v I was curious to know if you can upgrade the M90 supercharger to be intercooled and if so how ?

Honestly I do this every day and I have never had a car come in with that kit. I dont even know what moddbox is. If it is a M90 like say on a Roush it should have been intercooled from the factory. If its not already, sorry I cant help. Thank you so much for watching!
@Brenspeed the kit is also known as a HiPo Supercharger Kit . This particular M90 is a 4th Generation Model . I own a 2007 4.0 Terlingua it’s a V6 . It’s came with this exact Paxton setup In your video. I was restoring it and Irrationally I sold the set up a while back to a friend who doesn’t want to sell it back to me. So I picked up this HiPo Kit for a steal . It’s already bolted up and tuned. Kept psi around 7 to be safe but I have forged internals and did a rebuild kit on the engine about 2 months ago so I would want to safely spike up the psi . So Sorry to hammer at this, just curious to know if I could upgrade to heat transfer or an intercooler before going back to the Paxton. I helped during the install, so I know for a fact there is not in internal intercooler like the blowers I’m personally accumulated to.

Hey man I got one for you. Why recirculate the compressed air back into the intake when going off throttle? The head unit is already so hot, so why refeed it the air it just compressed? Have you tried just dumping to atmosphere and plugging the nozzle on the intake?
Because this kit is called draw through. Meaning the MAF is prior to the supercharger and once the air is metered going into the engine you have to make it go back into the engine. Only way around that is to convert to a blow through style MAF and measure the air after the blow off into the atmosphere. I have seen no significant temp changes though in either method vs the other.

I added the Paxton ic and I think it really kills psi with the Novi 1200sl dropped to a 3.33 pulley and only get 9.5 at 6200
A novi 2200 is roughly 10 at 6200 and maybe 12 at 6800 with a 3.4, so a 3.33 on a smaller 1200 might be correct 9.5 at 6200 via an intercooler depending on the headers and altitude.
Hi Brent, this video could not be more timely as I recently purchased this kit for my '09 Bullitt. I decided against the intercooler kit for a few reasons one of those being I am more interested in a water-methanol solution like that provided by Snow Performance. When I asked Doug about this at the time of my purchase of the Throwback Kit he did not have any answers for me. What I wanted to know is can I add the kit with the existing Throwback tune for my car and would the performance be just as good if not better than installing an intercooler kit for use during the hot summer months in Arizona?

There is not a carb number on these kits.
Great info. I have a 2005 and have a cold air intake headers and flowmasters. I thought I would have Ford racing cams Ford racing intake a tuner and a chip installed. I know supercharger is the way to go but don’t have the money for that. Also the guy I bought it from had a racing auto trans installed which I feel is the biggest reason it is pretty quick. Any suggestions if I am going the right way or anything else I can put on. I am disabled so I just don’t see wow I can afford a supercharger. Thank God it’s my back so can still drive but my Harley is a no go. So need a fast Mustang. Thank you sir. Marty
3V bolt on parts. Lower gears like 3.73 or 4.10, long tube headers, intake manifold or delete plates, JLT series 3, Detroit Rocker Cams, Steeda underdrive pulleys, topped with a FRPP twin throttle body. Nice set up.
would you recommend delete plates? is there a possibility of the factory cmp coming apart as a result of boost?
I have never had them come apart. Yes delete plates are great.
What about if you add a intercooler later does the iat in the manifold have to be moved?? Also how quickly does this heat soak and pull timing will this be annoying
You do not need to move the IAT again after installing the intercooler. Heat soak depends on temp outside and what you are doing with the car. Sitting in traffic, driving, is it 100 degrees out, 70 degrees out, depends on a lot of factors to determine how "quickly" IAT rise and start pulling timing. I dont think it is annoying personally.
Hey Brent. I'm fbo and have bbr stage 1 cams and made 358 to the tires, if I get the kit, would it only be the jlt 3 that I'd be removing? Also what do you think I could expect at the tires with my pre existing mods
If its a manual, around 490-500 rwhp if you have long tubes, throttle body, and delete plates. Good air of course. You would also be removing underdrive pulleys if you have those as well as the JLT intake. Lots of variables when it comes to the dyno but around there if the car was here on our dyno which is a dynojet rated SAE. Auto might be a little less.
@@BrenspeedEngineering yes its a manual! So my only loss of money would be the pulleys and the jlt? That isn't too bad. I do still have the stock intake manifold, what kind of upgrades are available to the make more power of the supercharger? Also I made 324 pound feet of torque, is it safe to say I'd be around the 450 safe point?
O.k if later I decide to this will I have to change out the cams because I purchase the Detroit Rockers that is for the normally aspirated engine.

You could do an air to air intercooler or cams & headers are great. Delete plates are good as well or a FRPP manifold and throttle body.
Brent with my throwback package if I go with the air to air intercooler Paxton kit it comes with the smaller 6 rib pully what size is the kit pully and how much RWHP and boost 8 up to what 10-11? Will i achieve? Thxs also would this be my next step or should i stay non intercooled and go with Detroit rockers and long tubes next ?!$
The air to air upgrade switches you from a 3.8 to 3.6. Part of the reason for the smaller pulley is to keep the boost up with adding all the plumbing. Boost depends on factors like exhaust, elevation, etc... it would be 8-10 ish depending on how high of RPM you run. An intercooler adds power over when IAT temps would be up on non intercooled. So just putting it on a dyno cold does not show gains vs. non intercooled typically. You get the gains with power would drop off on a non intercooled kit when IAT temps start to climb. The higher the temps the more timing is pulled which reduces power. So having an intercooler helps prevent the IAT increase which equals more power vs. if you didnt have it. I would do rockers and LT headers now then an intercooler.
Is this kit easily removable when necessary? Or is there any cutting, drilling which makes it impossible to go back to stock?
Yes it is removable and yes you can go back to stock without issues. Actually of all the kits this one is the easiest to remove. THANKS FOR WATCHING.
About what kind of difference would I see with underdrive pullies? I'm more than likely going to be ordering this kit next month but my car had underdrives when I bought it and I dont have the originals. Thanks in advance!
Dont run the underdrive pulleys with the supercharger you will gain about 60 HP less. We have stock crank pulleys and stock water pump pulleys I am sure we can get for you cheap if you are getting the supercharger from us. THANKS!

What's the most Horsepower that you can get out of a Novi 1200 with an intercooler set up?
Stock engine, cams, headers, premium fuel... over 500 to the tires.
Would a careless x pipe increase the hp numbers and in your opinion would it help the system evacuate all the extra boost? I’m debating if I should get this before I send in my tune request. Thank you and have a great day
Yes it will add horsepower by maybe 10 and because of less restriction it is a little easier on the engine.

Is this package good for a daily driver in the northern place where there are long winters?
Yes you just let the car warm up like you normally would. The supercharger oil will warm up just like the engine oil. Don't just start it in zero temps and take off which you shouldnt do anyways on a stock engine. Just put a little heat in it and good to go. Also because no boost a light throttle it will handle like normal in snow.

Would using this kit with longtube headers hotrod cams O/R x-pipe bbk twin 62mm TB be safe for my stock motor it has 92,000 miles on it as of now other mods I have as well stage 2 clutch light weight aluminum flywheel and Ford Racing one piece aluminum driveshaft with 3.73’s

Brenspeed do you have a air to air Intercooler for the 2010 model?

Skill level would be on the max side, and as far as pricing read the description it has links as well as info on how to get price.
Do you need to upgrade the fuel pump with this set up?
Our kit comes with a fuel pump voltage booster which is your upgraded fuel pump set up. It will allow a good working stock fuel pump to support the power.

Your current mod list is fine with this kit. It is a bolt on kit no modifications. It does not pull timing based off of ambient outside air, it pulls based off the temp after the supercharger entering the engine. BUT to answer your question you would start to notice power decrease once intake temps were getting above 150 degrees. By notice I mean at that point enough adjustment is happening you might feel it seat of the pants. THANKS
Brenspeed can I have a local custom dyno tune done if I choose to?
I ran the kit non-intercooled for a summer and then intercooled for a few summers and by far, the intercooled kit feels much more consistent and makes a dramatic amount of power compared to non-intercooled. 93 octane highly reccomended!

@@BradleyMcCartney I went with the Brenspeed air to air intercooler upgrade kit. I would not suggest going no-intercooled unless you really don't speed all that often as once it gets hot under the hood, it pulls a ton of power for safety reasons and you'll be as slow as stock lol. The intercooler is above and beyond being non-intercooled. 10 psi + 93 octane is the way to go!
wow,,i had 4.10 gears in mine and went down to 3.73 gears for better highway driving when i do drive it on the highway but now i am thinking i want to try 4.56 gears for the street,,,,it must scream on the street with 4.56 gears.
That would be a tire shredder for sure with 4.56. A bit low but hey whatever you enjoy!

No you do not have to have one. This kit is designed to be non intercooled and the calibration is also.
How is the power affected with the 4.56 gears and drag radials?

Depends what you do with the car. If you race the heck out of it and beat it down all the time with highway kick downs 550HP can hurt them. Some last longer than others though. THANKS

As long as it is intercooled it is not a requirement. BUT if you already have it and add an intercooler later it is OK to have it.

You will remove the JLT when adding a supercharger. It comes with its own induction.
What difference between novi 1200 and 2200??
1200 is a smaller head unit than the 2200. If you ever want to get a built engine and go high horsepower a 2200 is better. On a stock engine the 1200 is very capable.

Not sure what you mean by "car" but I will explain. The "engine" does not run hot. Having a non intercooled supercharger which is not uncommon in the industry to does have higher air intake temps on hot days than an intercooled system. The calibration adjusts for this and is normal. So yes non intercooled vs. intercooled runs higher intake temps if that is what you mean but the calibration adjusts spark for it. THANKS for watching.

I would not because your torque will sky rocket with a 100 shot and put you over the limits of the stock rods.

what if i have 130k miles on my motor? should i rebuild it first before supercharging?
We install these on 130k motors that have been taken care of. Key is that it has had the oil changed routinely and is in good mechanical condition. I have also seen 60k motors that have not hardly had the oil changed that would not even put cams in it was so nasty. So it really depends on the history of the engine. THANKS
