“Maybe you have 3v mustang and it’s paid off” that’s most realist thing ever said, people get coyotes cause they’re paying it off and don’t have much money for parts but it has decent power factory
@@demarcusbody9437 oh I forgot to mention my 2V isn’t stock lol, it’s cobra swapped and it’s got a cam in it rn working on headers, but it does have full catback exhaust
Thanks for keeping it REAL! Not everyone wants "the number." A lot to be said for reliability, drivability, style, vibe, personal challenges... Great video.
Here is the thing, 4.6 in 2v. 3v, or 4v can make big power...and sound WAAAAY better than a raspy Coyote. I simply have NEVER been a fan of the Coyote. Love this 3v set up...BEAST!
I've wished Ford would have stayed with the 4.6 Modular firing order on the Coyote. They probably didn't for vibration, free-revving, high RPM reasons.
Then they should have done a 4V swap because I bet a 4V Long block swap wouldn't cost $15k and cost that much. I agree the 2V, 3V and 4V sound way better. I have to choose my exhaust VERY wisely to make it sound good. LT headers, resonated H pipe and make sure you don't let it get too loud or the Coyote just sounds like shit. I have had a gen 1 and now 3 Coyote and its the same story. Making over 800RWHP in a 3v is polishing a turd though. It would have saved him a ton of money to put a gen 2 Coyote in there. Fuel system and same supercharger system and would have made the same power with a gen stock 2 Coyote. With E85 it would have been every bit as reliable as that fully built 3v.
Thank you for being very candid! Most guys do not realize the cost! You can have plenty of fun with a 3V supercharged as you mentioned. There will always be someone faster with more power!
Good video. I have a 3valve with a supercharger and nitrous. It did 960hp to the wheels on Q16 fuel. It was detuned to 804hp and I lost the built 5r55s on the first pass. It has a powerglide now and awaiting retuning. I bought the car new and have $140,000+ in it. Some of the labor I did myself, some I did not. It adds up and is expensive though I have too much in it to dump it for cheap. It has gone in the nines in Las Vegas but in the long run a factory Cobra Jet race car would have been a cheaper buy. The FUN factor of taking a stock mid 14 second car and hopefully hitting the high eights with your own handiwork makes it worthwhile. At least that is what I tell myself. Again, great honest video
That's what "Hot Rodding" is all about! ... build it or buy it! Which ever 'floats your boat'. Think about all those "rich guys"...back in the day... who bought an Super Car (Oldsmobile 88) - running up on a farm boy who wouldn't let them pass - come to find out he had swapped a Cadillac V-8 in his "farmer pick-up truck". That's what gives you 'bragging rights'... any day of the week.
Not that much it doesn't. Stock Gen 2 Coyote swap, LT headers, fuel system for E85, and exactly the same blower system would get you the same power but be cheaper. I also have had many GM F bodies and building up the 3V would be like trying to build up a gen 1 or 2 small block chevy instead of doing what should have been done the whole time and doing a gen 3 or 4 small block chevy LS.
@@ShizawnSanders It’s relative to who’s doing the work and their ability. Me. Had an fi’d 20 350. Have an R now, and a 500 Cftp. Not all horsepower is the same. Nor is it installed the same.
@@ShizawnSanders I get that. But sometimes, and I’m sure you get this to, its not always about cost. Many times we want what we want for whatever particular reason. I’m having a hard time talking myself in to cutting the front end up for the coyote, but I’m not a fan of the cleveland at all.
Awesome video - love the passion for the 3V and the passion for sharing your knowledge & experience. What you just said in 17 minutes can take people years and years to learn on their own.
I really appreciate a video like this from you Brent. I definitely expected a reliable 800+ RWHP 3v to run you $50k, it makes sense to be honest especially after you listed off some of the major components and their costs. You hit the nail on the head with the styling of these early S197s. I feel like people either hate them or love them to death. I absolutely love this body style, which is why I had planned to Coyote swap mine someday. Honestly though, after hearing that it'll take ~$13k or so to have a reliable 500rwhp 3v I might opt to do that instead down the road. Thank you for all the insight in this video, for keeping it real, and for all the amazing builds you bring us and your customers.
Wow you knocked out of the park on this video Brent, that is one sick 3V, great way to explain to each their own on what they want. The old saying if you want to play, you must pay. The more you want to push limits, which can be done, it just cost more. What a awesome car.
Not only do people overlook the cost but they also overlook the usability. There are very few circumstances where you can fully put down 800 rwhp on the street
I paused @54 seconds just to post this comment and say thanks for this video! I have a fresh 80k 3v in my 07 mustang and was waiting for this. Thanks a ton!
Great video! I've been working on my 3V for about 3 1/2 years now full bolt ons, ported heads lower assembly and drive chain, the whole 9 yards all by yours truly in a garage with Jack stands baby! Just started looking at a paxton supercharger. The money and time I've put into this vehicle has been more than just about the "play", it's been about the love for this vehicle and the happiness it brings when everything comes together ( as this comes with anyone and every car).
The key is to do it all bit by bit, do the brakes, then suspension, then rear end, then do a one piece drive shaft, then a transmission (also built tr3650s are pretty good), clutch, then start on the engine. By the time you get to the engine, you will have an already dialed in monster. Currently building the rear end, then im gonna throw in a drive shaft.
I’ve seen junk yard motors with boost!! Absolutely fast, big hp numbers, For a couple drag races, Then they oil the track!!!! Reliably and hp, is huge difference!! It takes money to do it right!!!! Save your money up and do it right folks. You can be cool, for years!! Instead of for a few minutes. Huge difference!!! Great video!! Great info!!
Horsepower is not cheap! Thanks for all the sweet info. That car is so bad ass that even in a lineup of bad ass cars it stands out! Love to see people do the big builds like this. That type of build has to be another feather in the cap for your company. Very impressive!
When you lay it out like that it's easy to see why more people don't do this. I mean 700-800 rwhp reliably costs like 3 or 4 times more than having a reliable 500 rwhp. This is what I love about the early gt500s. You still got the same body style only better (the gt500 body style looks better imo) and you got a stouter trans and a much stouter engine that is already supercharged from the factory so a blower swap and minor fueling upgrades can put you at 700-800 rwhp prob cheaper than these cars get to 500 rwhp. They do cost more up front but if you find one that is nice but not mint with a few miles you can really get alot of bang for the buck. I got my 07 for 16 grand which is mind blowing considering what you can do with the platform for little money. People want 16 grand for 3vs lol. I'm gonna spend about 6-7 grand this year upgrading to a gen3r and injectors, boost a pumps, 1 piece ds and make 750 rwhp on stock headers with 93 and boostane. Car already had a twin disc clutch and mgw shifter, already has the jlt 123 cold air I can re use with the tvs, already has a full exhaust minus long tubes (doing those later) so I'm 6-7 grand away from being where I wanna be for now power wise (750). Down the road I am going to go built motor, cams and longtubes for probably around the same 6-7 grand all in for everything and when you consider what I gave for the car I won't even have 30 grand in it after it is all said and done with the gen3r and built motor lol. I freaking love the 07-09 gt500s they're so cool and don't get near enough love. It's like a 3v on steroids lol
Wow... You got your GT500 for $16k! Kudos to you, that was 1000% a steal. Good stuff, and hope your mods have been going as planned since you left this comment. Good luck with it brother.
If you are going to try and get 800hp out of a 3v or 2v. You need to be able to turn wrenches. You can get the engine at most junkyards for cheap. Forged internals is around $2500. The cost is really on the labor.
Yea there is way more cost to making 800 wheel reliably than just forged internals. Weather you do it yourself or not it's gonna be alot more than 2500 bucks. You gotta upgrade the rest of the driveline and brakes and suspension but you also have to do this on a coyote powered car making that power so that isn't fair to tach that onto the overall cost. You would need ported heads and cams and stuff also on the 3v at that power level if you want it to be efficient. The newer s550 is dime a dozen and the car itself costs alot more up front so you're paying the money in a different way. All in price of the car included you could Def do an older car less than a newer s550 to get to reliable 800 wheel all in price of the car included. The older cars are more unique and sound better imo. Its easier to build a newer car because you can finance a large portion of it in the car itself (which is why people wanna do that) but the overall cost of the car + build isn't any cheaper with an 800 wheel s550 vs an 800 wheel older car imo because the price of the car initially is much higher.
@@midnight347 yeah right, I've seen many 2v's with only forged internals making upwards of 750-850hp depending on boost. Running reliably as a daily. Now as far as the suspension and the rest is irrelevant to my argument. Im talking about making the engine handle safe amounts of boost. They are pretty great with just forged internals. Obviously while you're in there you are replacing head studs, gaskets etc etc. I'm not trying to give a total cost to make a full blown race car.
Man all the generation mustangs are cool to me ,we all mustang fam!, No descrimiating...I just bought a 2019 gt with a whole Corsa setup ( longtubes,x midpipe, and mufflers) and she sounds glorious 💪🏿😂! Nice car! Insane amount of torque from a mod engine. Also, like you said, it has a cool factor of 1million. I agree with all that you stated. In high school in the early 80's I had a 68 F100 that had what I will call a hodge podge 352 that my dad bought from the local Chevy dealership for $200 in 1971 because they couldn't get it running after they put it together with all sorts of various FE parts from all over the map. It took Dad & a great mechanic friend of his about 6 months & a couple calls to ford Tech to get running. Dad gave me the pickup when I was still in junior high when he was offered $500 for it on trade for a newer pickup. I learned the value of having money left in your pocket after buying awesome parts when I completely smoked the clutches in my Tru Trac diff about a year after I put it & a set of Mark Williams axles in the rear to stop the carnage of diff gears & razor-sharp axle splines brought about after doing a bunch of work to the 352& installation of 3.89 gears. I had to save money for nearly a year to replace the carrier assembly with a Detroit Locker unit, which then led to needing a Strange 3rd member when I broke the back pinion bearing housing completely off. Once you start producing HUGE torque numbers, you will need to replace everything from the flywheel back & need to have the budget for the oh crud factor.
Facts man to me it’s not so much I will spend to get that power to me I just love the 05-09 3vs197 body style I know coyotes are cheaper and easier to make power but in my opinion they don’t sound better
I'm one of those guys that looks at this and says "If you're going to replace every part, why not just buy a whole new car?". But I see your point, if you're attached to it or love the styling I can see why you might prefer the path of modification.
I’m so happy I have access to a shop. Saves a lot of money on building stuff. I reliably built a 650whp 3V for 17K. Not 800whp but still more than most stuff on the street. Even here in Texas I still have a good fighting chance.
Just to let you know I'm still running my 08 with your Roush install. Got it to pass emissions (new cats and o2 sensors and coils). I may have to make another visit because the cars keep getting faster and this mix you just showed may be the ticket. The rest of my drivetrain has already been updated. Thanks for the vid.
Brent, you’re a good man. You’ve made me some good deals in the past and I like you guys. I’m a Saleen Extreme owner (06), but back to the tread great job braking down the built on that 3V. Great job!
So true it cost a lot to make power reliably especially on a 3v 50k is going easy everything adds up just like you said. Hope to get close to that number one day on a 3v. Happy to see these kinds of numbers are possible on these engines. Like you said also not everyone wants a coyote even though it’s a fantastic motor with high capabilities.
That was a badass video man. really informative and appreciated. That is a cool build! BBF is a good way too. the S197 fitment of a 460 is good. Then you can really have some astronomical torque, reliably
The thing he left out is, you have to do the same for a S550 to make them reliable when you go to 800rwhp. Those coyote mustangs making all that quick cheap horsepower aren't reliable. You have to do all of those upgrades on almost any car when you double/triple the horse power!
Interesting video. My first Mustang was a 2017 GT S550. Installed a Kenne Bell supercharger myself. Paid a shop to do the oil pump and timing gear upgrades. Also had them do the suspension upgrades.Long story short. Dyno results were 583 RWHP and 477 LB FT of torque. Swapped out the supercharger pulley with the next size smaller which increased the boost too 12lbs from the base of 10.4lbs. Never had it run on the dyno with that upgrade. That power was nice with the exception it would break the tires loose @ 60mph. Hooking from a dig wasn't happening. Sold the car because it just wasn't pleasant to drive. Fun at first but got old. Had the car for two years and only put 1200 miles on it. Bought a 2006 GT Premium a little over a year ago. Mostly stock. Has a Bama tune and some exhaust upgrades. Looks good. Sounds great. Far from a race car but an excellent cruiser. Basically got burnt out dumping thousands of dollars into a car. There was more than one. Speed costs. How fast do you want too go?
I know what your saying my supercharged 2019 would spin at 50 mph and my kids were always wanting to use it. I must have said don't hammer it when passing a car hundreds of times.
The 427R models and GT500 models are really the only 2005-09 cars that I like. I think Saleen just didn’t hit the mark on this generation, but I adore all previous and prior Saleens.
Damn that's a sweet 427. Back in the days of tech school (2008), these dream builds used to fuel my early mornings at work and my late nights at class. I still got a 3V but it's more of a garage queen nowadays lol.
Enging busters presented by Brenspeed where we take the best parts and see if they are actually worth it vs stock l. I just really like to see content like that
Great comments about how the money explodes beyond a certain point. For someone who isn't hard core racing and doesn't have bottomless pockets a 500hp street car is enough to have a lot of fun...so much fun you'll get yourself in serious trouble if you aren't seriously careful.
Thanks for this video , it was great to see what a 3 valve can make reliably . I have a 2020 Roush stage 3 and for me a 60 year old Man it’s amazing . Planning on being at Beech Bend Sept 30 for the NMRA all Ford event . I’m going to see what my car will do in a 1/4 mile . J
Great information. If you’re going to do it do it fast! The supercharge I bought 4 years ago is now $2k more! Plus everyone who is not a good wrencher needs “a guy”. The moonlighting or retired mechanic. My guy is retired, had my car over a week. $1700 installed. He knew a guy. Dyno was $225.
I got 07 427r put Breen speed 490r package an Detroit rocker cams that’s plenty for me 😀 it’s fun an reliable thank you Breen speed an Streets tires an custom Leland North Carolina
I don't have anything against the Coyote Mustang I just love my three-valve. Both are great-looking cars but I do love the retro look and that's why I have a Dodge Challenger too.
Great video!!!! This day and age everyone looks at horsepower numbers and sticks their nose up in the air. In reality in a 3600lb car even less with weigh reduction "3v mustang" making 480-500ish wheel horse, dialed in with suspension and driver is more than capable with a 1.6-1.7 60ft to run high 10s at about 125ish. That is still pretty stout.
If you were to listen to a bonehead like Alex Flores, the 3valves are essentially worthless, and cars with 500-550 wheel horsepower are literally laughable - as he laughed at someone who asked him for advice on building to that level, probably because his chubby ass couldn't figure out how to build a car into the 10s without 300 extra wheel horsepower helping the cause.
@@DrBeef216 yeah although I do somewhat like alex he is a coyote nut hugger and talks sooo much shit about 3vs, 2vs and even terminators! If you are a really mustang fan you respect them all!

Nevermind that some people don't like boosting a car, don't want to destroy their trans, don't want 6mpg or an uncontrollable monster for a street car, etc. I like how non-pc he is, but he frankly is very closed-minded and convinced of his own ideas being the end-all in the car industry. My first car was a 90 gt and The fox has always been my favorite car until 2005 came around and it took me a while to get me one as I just got my first 3v February of this year I coulda got a coyote but I wanted the 05-09 body and personally I love the sound of the 3v and like being the bastard child underdog. I’ve already put more money into my car than I originally paid for it and it’s just now around 500rwhp on the nitrous. And I plan on getting a lot more out of it. Want to build a motor that can hold up to 1000rwhp but just keep it around 600-800rwhp still street drive able. Trying to find a shortblock now to start building so I can keep driving the car as is till I get another block built and when it’s done drop it in with some boost. Right now it’s got a factory 5 speed factory rear end just with Ford racing 4.10 gears. But I’d really like to put one of them new 10 speed autos in it. I’m not a dummy and I realize this is going to cost way more than just buying a 11+ gt with some boost but like I said I love this body style and love their faces when I say it’s just a 3v. As it sits literally has every bolt on plus cams gears and nitrous with a bunch of suspension parts I beat a lot of coyotes, new camaros, and them mopars. I can take that $500+ I would be paying on a car note each month and put towards the build. Hopefully by next year this time it’ll have a built motor and some sort of boost. Still haven’t decided on turbo or supercharger. I have always wanted a roots/twin screw style blower which I’m really leaning towards even though I’m sure a centrifugal or turbo would probably make more power. I’m not really worried about making tons of power as the car sits it runs 12.8 @ 113mph on motor that was before the cams long tubes and Ford racing manifold not sure what it’ll run now and 11.9 @ 121mph on the nitrous again that was before the other upgrades and with a crappy 2.2 60ft. I’d like to squeeze a mid 11 second pass out of it the way it sits and then with the new setup have it road worthy but still go 10’s at the track.
Excellent explanation , yes to do it right the dollar imput has to match . These 95 to 09 has such a great look ! I've had lots of old muscle mustangs , a 13 GT but these are really nice.
They motivation Mayne. I got a 3v @18 and was in love it I ain’t gonna like I did pushed it race it a lot but stock lol I didn’t have the funds to really do a lot to it and then some lady with a 3v crashed my front end and ever since I just been having problems and left the front end damaged and just bought a car to go to point a and b. Now I’m about to be 23 I still have the 3v but never really drove it for almost 3 years it still has problems and the front end is still damaged but I just couldn’t never sell it . Now I got the funds and I’m slowly fixing the problems. I’m about to take it to a shop to get the front end fixed I’m can’t wait to get up back and running. My first v8 I just couldn’t let it go . I got the car without even knowing how to drive a manual but I taught myself in the 3v . One question tho the engine has 180k miles in it do I replace it the engine rebuild it or leave it like that cause I do want to add a stroker cause eventually I want to procharge it . What y’all think?
Well since you have another car and sounds like you will keep the 3V forever work towards a built engine. That way you can go boost and even bigger boost later.

@@BrenspeedEngineering Brent, I have mad respect for the work that you do and your knowledge for building Mustangs with crazy power. However, you may want to watch Tech Line Director, Mike DeCourcey's daily driver video on their Kenne Bell website talk about his 815 rwhp 2005 3V GT using their 3.2L LC Mammoth Blower kit that comes with dual 75mm throttle body, tuned injectors with built bottom end, but stock cats, stock exhaust, stock heads, stock coil packs, stock cams. By the way this is their 50th Anniversary, so those guys know a little about making reliable hp also.. I'm not sure what you consider 'big power' or 'lower power' , but I think most people would agree that 815 rwhp on a 3V is pretty respectable.
@@VistaBlueGT it makes power because it's a big blower over 3 liters imo on a 4.6 it won't have that good of a response or power curve. A smaller TVs would be better imo. A big 3+ liter blower can make real good power imo ya need to size it with the engine just like turbos if it's a street car and you want good power and response and torque.
No one really knows for sure on crank. Department of boost thinks around 800 whp. They have not seen one or heard of one break, but have builds around 800 and holding fine, just rods/pistons upgraded. Stock rod/pistons are capped around 450wheel tq not necessarily 450whp. Department of Boost has many articles that will teach you anything you wanna know about modding these cars, especially blower setups.
Very well explanation this give you a chance to put your priorities where you want to go from here. Do it in step and plan your budget for a two year.👌👏👍💪😎🔥
Best thing to do is throw some good rods, crank, pistons in a 3v and slap a Department of boost Gt500 2.3 kit on it and go about 600hp, more than enough power for way less
@@drieey yea I think you could make a reliable 600 with a DOB kit with a 2.3 TVS with just the kit and drop in coyote rods I think the rest would hold fine at that power level ecsp if you do cams headers and rest of the supporting mods. Curious About 427 Marking? That’s The Big Block That Ford Made Awhile Back Just Before 428 Cobra Jet Time Frame. However This Is Built 3V. Is It For The Sharp Looks? I Have 2 S197’s (2005 & 2006) Which Are Both Powered By Twin Cam Police Interceptors. Outstanding Footage. Keep It Coming.
The 3v alone was chosen by Ford to maximize cost and efficiency. The 4v made more power, but the 3v was more reliable and cheaper to make power. Such a balancing act from these oem engineers, from initial cost, overall reliability, performance, maintenance life costs, warranty.
Excellent video with a lot of really good points being made. In my experience, if you are running street tires anything over 500 at the wheels on a rear drive car is just going to go up in smoke all the way through 3rd. FYI, we do not roll race...we go from the dig and run a bit over an 1/8th mile.
Obviously if you're running over 500 you need to be on a sticky tire. That goes without saying. People get in trouble when they try to highly modify their only car and/or their daily then they don't wanna run sticky tires because they wear too fast. If you're worried about things like that big power isn't for you and it's ideal to have another car as your daily imo. You could daily the big power car easy if it's done right but it's gonna kill you in tire and gas costs and if you don't run a sticky tire you won't even be able to get into the power at all on the street.
Man this video makes me miss my 3V mustang. The thing I loved the most about that car, aside from looks, was how easy it was to work on. I installed LT headers with ORH in a day. I installed Ford Racing hot rod cams in an afternoon. I installed a Nitrous plate kit in less than a day. Tune uploaded in less than 5 minutes. I'm driving a C5 corvette now and there is no way I could install a cam in an afternoon. It is waaaaaay more complicated. I've been seriously thinking about going back to either a 2005-2009 3V or 2013 to 2014 4V Mustang. Not a big fan of the S550 looks.
I'm not a big 3 valve fan but respect them when built up like you are talking about but it takes big money to play in the 3 valve scene lol.. Keeps pulling and pulling on the interstate lol. Rock on Brent your A1 top notch in my book 🤔🚗💨💯💪🌮👊🆘🇺🇸🏁MURICA
I tell the coyote crowd about the built 3V I used to have. Built it in my garage myself after sourcing parts. I’d smoke them after they thought I couldn’t, then they would just go on about what it cost me lmao
Thanks for this man, I got a 2v bullitt been wanting to build the whole motor and throw a blower on it. It cost about the same to buy a coyote motor and drop it in the car. So after stressing I came across your video, and I guess you either get cheap and reliable which would be staying stock or fast and cheap which won’t last long, or fast and reliable which is expensive. I guess I’ll be keeping her stock or maybe maxing it out to what it can handle without building it.
Bro you can twin turbo these in your driveway on a weekend. If you know how weld and you can turn wrenches. You can twin turbo these for under a $1000. Especially if you know how to shop at junkyards. You can get lancer evolution turbos all day for under $200 intercooler and all. If you don't know how to turn wrenches i wouldn't even bother. Go buy something better that's already powerful. But if you know basic mechanics you can do it all yourself for really cheap. If you really want to cut corners nothing is quicker and easier than throwing a 200 shot of nitrous at it. Cooler spark plugs, upgrade the fuel system and tune.
@@KyrieEleisonMaranatha it's not about the install a few buddies and I can probably make it happen. Parts are hard to find where I am. Also it's about doing all that and the motor pops, but you make a good point about the nos.
So much hate out there for 3V mustangs, they can make great power very reasonably, im at 520 rwhp. 450 rwtq, with an auto trans, Saleen series 6 supercharger, cams, long tubes, I've done all the work myself, by shopping around I've spent about 7k. The car is plenty fast for a street car. This car is just as fast as my ported and pullied 03 cobra.
Awesome video. I like how you kept it real. I've been going back and forth about LS swaping my vic, but I'd much rather try to work with what I have. Can you tell me what would it take to build a 400+hp, NA, SOHC, 2v 4.6? Also, could I convert my 4.6 to a DOHC 3V? What would that take to do it?
2V to 3V no way unless you do a bunch of PCM swap conversion stuff to take advantage of the 3V VCT. To be honest on that Crown Vic build I would drop in a 400+ HP stock coyote gen2 , 6r80 trans, control pack and have one bad ass car. Rather than trying to achieve that kind of power out of 2v.... That would be a rare car in the end with that coyote swap.
@@BrenspeedEngineering check out the IG like I posted. These swaps are going to be the norm. Someone put on in a vic and it looks mean. instagram.com/p/CRvAN33lRZV/?

Here is the thing, 4.6 in 2v. 3v, or 4v can make big power...and sound WAAAAY better than a raspy Coyote. I simply have NEVER been a fan of the Coyote. Love this 3v set up...BEAST!
Thanks!
I've wished Ford would have stayed with the 4.6 Modular firing order on the Coyote. They probably didn't for vibration, free-revving, high RPM reasons.
Yes 💯 my 4.6 3V sounds so much better then some coyotes I hear in the street
I love the coyote and the 3v, they both have pros and cons and are both great engines
Well said! Thanks for watching!
Great info thanks for watching!
Congrats on your car, at sea level you may just run in the 8s..
One of the best performance videos in a long while. Horse power and speed cost MONEY! You gotta pay to play.
You got that right!

Thank you so much for watching and commenting!

Wow you knocked out of the park on this video Brent, that is one sick 3V, great way to explain to each their own

can be done, it just cost more. What a awesome car.

Not only do people overlook the cost but they also overlook the usability. There are very few circumstances where you can fully put down 800 rwhp on the street

Nice video, Im waiting "patiently" for my V3 Blackout kit that I ordered from your company. 500whp is all I need right now
The BLACK OUT is awesome!
Nice work! Sounds like a sweet ride.
How are the ported heads? Heard the 3v picks up huge NA power with ported heads

Hey thanks for the kind comment.
Yeah it is. In the motorcycle world. Hahaha
Thanks for the comment and yes love me a GT500
THANKS FOR THE COMMENT!

The thing he left out is, you have to do the same for a S550 to make them reliable when you go to 800rwhp. Those coyote mustangs making all that quick cheap horsepower aren't reliable. You have to do all of those upgrades on almost any car when you double/triple the horse power!
Thanks for the comment and watching!
Exactly. I've been saying that for years.

Hey thanks for the comment
@@waltermacknight9299 He sat in SN95 and even admitted he was clueless about what they even came with.
His whole thing is boosting the hell out of a car and making some extreme number of power. And if it doesn't, it's worthless. Nevermind that some people don't like boosting a car, don't want to destroy their trans, don't want 6mpg or an uncontrollable monster for a street car, etc.
I like how non-pc he is, but he frankly is very closed-minded and convinced of his own ideas being the end-all in the car industry. The worst part is he's not alone. Particularly in the tuner scene, which is where he came from, it's their way or the highway.

Oh I think coyote would still pull Up top due to the way it makes power and because of VVT the coyote probably makes More torque
@@utahcountypicazospage5412 typically the 3vs make more tq at the same power level.
Sounds like you have a fun ride and you are enjoying it. Keep it up.

speaking to my to my soul buddy! I have 30k already in mine and I am fine with it. Anybody can go buy a coyote at the dealer and see five just like it before you get 2 miles down the road! I still need you to finish it off for me. See you in a few months.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for all the info, I'm still planning the route I want to take with my 07 Boss. I'm going to rebuild the original motor to better handle the Kenny Bell supercharger I have. I'm thinking about making a stroker out of it. 🤔
Thanks for the comment! FYI in your plans for big power ditch the KB. The 3V KB is not good for big power but fine for lower power. No matter what they say.... been there done that.
@@BrenspeedEngineering I really enjoyed your in Delphi
Brendpeed I really enjoyed your video thanks
Agree, my goal is to try to make 600HP on N/A on my 3V reliable plus T56 magnum XL and build rear end. Love my 05 GT
Awesome thanks for watching!
3v gt500 clone owner here... love this video!
Thanks!
I appreciate you keeping it real. I been looking for those answers for a long time. Plus quick question how much ho can the stock 3v crank handle?
This video link will answer your stock engine HP questions th-cam.com/video/oe-TR6JKtvo/w-d-xo.html
Do it in step and plan your budget for a two year.👌👏👍💪😎🔥
You got that right! Thanks for watching.
No matter how fast you are there's always somebody faster.
YEP
I love the sn95 new edge mustang the most. So yeah we all like different stuff.
YEP thanks for watching!
People don't believe how fast the cost can go up and get away from your original budget.
Yep thanks for watching!
Great video , I have 06 mustang gt 4.6 automatic, love listening to your knowledge !!!
Thanks for watching and commenting! More to come!
Best thing to do is throw some good rods, crank, pistons in a 3v and slap a Department of boost Gt500 2.3 kit on it and go about 600hp, more than enough power for way less
Thanks for the comment
I agree. That's what I'm doing.
@@drieey yea I think you could make a reliable 600 with a DOB kit with a 2.3 TVS with just the kit and drop in coyote rods I think the rest would hold fine at that power level ecsp if you do cams headers and rest of the supporting mods. People do 500 on stock bottom end I'm certain you could do 600 with just coyote rods.
Roush called that car a 427R for 427 flywheel horsepower. It had nothing to do with engine size. Thanks for watching!
I love this video. Thank You for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
The 3v alone was chosen by Ford to maximize cost and efficiency. The 4v made more power, but the 3v was more reliable and cheaper to make power. Such a balancing act from these oem engineers, from initial cost, overall reliability, performance, maintenance life costs, warranty.
Thanks for the comment!
I’ll take a naturally aspirated forged 326 for my 05 and a shot of gas. I love the car the sound is addicting.
Sounds fun!
My lord that is awesome.
I just don't had $45k ish to do somethin like that. I only wish...!!!!!!!
Hey thanks for watching!
You really put things into perspective for me
No problem
Great video. Realistic. My idea 500 horsepower enough. 3valve. Love that style. Thanks. Cya next summer. Love Wednesday's videos. Cmon.
Thanks!
Swaps aren’t free.
Rather put that money into my 2v.
I’m looking for a build to buy or a builder, matter of fact 🙌
Thanks for watching!
Excellent video with a lot of really good points being made. In my experience, if you are running street tires anything over 500 at the wheels on a rear drive car is just going to go up in smoke all the way through 3rd. FYI, we do not roll race...we go from the dig and run a bit over an 1/8th mile.
Well said!
Damn I can’t wait to visit you guys once I finally have one.
THANKS for watching.
I have a stock 05 GT with 28k miles. Black/Red.
Awesome thanks for watching.
COME BACK lol
I'm not a big 3 valve fan but respect them when built up like you are talking about but it takes big money to play in the 3 valve scene lol.. I'm a big foxbody guy and have owned over 22 of them etc. I also own a 18 F1FIDDY v8 4x4 rcsb lowered on a bell Tech pro kit 3/5 drop on KMC PRISM'S 20X9'S etc and love the power of the coyote especially the 10 speed auto. Keeps pulling and pulling on the interstate lol. Rock on Brent your A1 top notch in my book 🤔🚗💨💯💪🌮👊🆘🇺🇸🏁MURICA
I love the 10 speed in the 5.0 F150 for sure. Really makes that truck quick for a heavy beast.
I tell the coyote crowd about the built 3V I used to have. Built it in my garage myself after sourcing parts. I’d smoke them after they thought I couldn’t, then they would just go on about what it cost me lmao
Ha lol yep
You paid for mods while they paid way more doe their car it's all relative.
Great! Enjoy your ride either way!
Every junk yards that gets something good has it gone the next day. Plus closest junk yard from me thats worth going to is about a 45 minute drive. Also it's about doing all that and the motor pops, but you make a good point about the nos.
Love your presentations.
Yup I got my 3v paid off still trying to make it faster, bought it in 2016
Thanks for the comment.
Question. Would a 5.4L pickup motor be a better setup than the 4.6L ? Just curious 🤔
Lord no
So much hate out there for 3V mustangs, they can make great power very reasonably, im at 520 rwhp. 450 rwtq, with an auto trans, Saleen series 6 supercharger, cams, long tubes, I've done all the work myself, by shopping around I've spent about 7k. The car is plenty fast for a street car. This car is just as fast as my ported and pullied 03 cobra.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
great video brent thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love my 3v mustang, I want to build it, but I already knew how crazy the cost would be
Thanks for watching!

I bought your roush 540 kit put rods and pistons in it put vmp 2.7 pulley made 602whp
Damn the 69mm kill pulley lol good job
