Sadly, we are enduring a bumper orphan season again this year and these three littlies are Bec's latest orphans in care.
Please investigate any persistent bleating in your garden or where ever you happen to be as it may be a baby flying-fox.
Never touch but please call your nearest rescue organisation and a trained and vaccinated volunteer will promptly attend.
Following a baffling event on the north coast, lots of little Grey-headed flying-fox are in need of rescue and new mums and dads.
These little orphans are now safely in the very best of care with Bec.

This is amazing. Are there places I should look during my walk? I don't want to miss a poor bat that needs help. (Would not touch, and just call the experts, obviously, but I do want to help protect the bats. They are so beautiful and smart and cute.)
Mostly it's a matter of just recognising the persistent cry of a baby calling for its mother, like the sound at about 35 sec, repeated continually.

They like it, in nature their mother would wrap her wings around them.
They've been doing this even before starting this channel 11 years ago. Mrs Batzilla handles much worse that we don't see.
Hi, we put our little babies on a ‘mummy’ roll which replicates mum’s body and the wrap simulates mum’s wings. The dummy is a substitute for mum’s nipple. They generally settle very quickly once these are provided but it can take newcomers a little longer to adjust. These orphans are new in care. 🦇
I'm really curious how you can reunite them with their mothers? It does sound amazingly special.
I had to chuckle at the humidicrib of mischief and the spitting their dummies.
We have flying foxes that visit our yard but they don't roost here (do they roost?). But it is good to know how to identify if we have a little bub without a mum. Thank you!
