I have seen thousands of videos of different things on UTUBE but this Video has got to be THE BEST ANIMAL VIDEO I HAVE EVER SEEN. I wanted to put my hand through the Computer Screen and pet James so bad..I could almost feel him.. Thanks so much for the video and the information. I know you do it as a volunteer but I appreciate all that you do...You are an truly an angel. God Bless you . I will go back a few times a day and look at this video..I will remember the date too as this would have been my parents 78th wedding anniversary and I know if they were alive they would enjoy this video (they have been gone for 15 yrs now) . So many thanks!

We are hybrids not mamals . We are not animals don't compare . Intellect on another level of awareness
If we was mamals are skin couldn't last in water as long as it does . We have reptilian in us as well
People are scared of the bats that're "TOO affectionate" to the point where they drink your blood.
Most people like fruit bats, like this one, because we'd probably only get kisses. 💁♀️😂

There are different types of bats. This kind of bat is cute but for example in Germany these puppy kind of bats dont exit. The bats here are ugly as hell

Bats are fun lovely animal. We raised 1 when his mother passed. We had to learn how to care for a baby bat. We had him till he died of old age. We set him free but he always came home every morning.

I watched Megabattie Videos and she said once Fruit Bats are released into the wild, they would never come back.
That's why I am surprised as to why your bat comes home every morning.

@@Wisteriawood no, a fruit bat is big as far as bats. That little guy could fit in my hand. He ate insects. I gave him shelter which was a covered bird cage. To him it was a cave. He would hang from it. I would bring the cage inside so he could sleep without a worry. He got used to it as a baby. He got used to me. He was safe. Like most animals they return to their safe place. That's about it. Fruit no. Insects from the pet store yes. Then 1 day he died. He was old as bats go. It was expected. Still, it hurt. I've raised a skunk too. You ought to try that. 👍

Many people see animal captivity in anyway an absolute evil. Those people usually don't listen long enough to appreciate the end goals of animal fosters.
Rabies & virus scares, no dislikes. I like it but am scared. Must had Rabies vaccine.

I love bats!! I saved one that was out near a lake on the bedrock! He was in the sun, limp. It was 12 in the afternoon and I knew this guys is supposed to be sleeping and needed to be moved to the shade, and given love and water. It was so sweet, it just let me hold him.... we stayed at the lake until late at night, and finally the little guy just flew away!!! Sweet bat from Georgia at Lake Lanier!!!

It's def not cute when they're flying around at night as you're walking along a path and those suckers (ha...a pun) swoop down at your head, grazing against it OR if you're a girl/lady/woman/ a gal, --whichever is preferred, 🤓 they get tangled up in their hair
As far as I know they don't fly in your hair because they use echo sound and always hear where you are and navigate around you

In all the years I've never had a baby do this,this young. They'll want to hang on you but to crawl up like that on his own not placed there no.
TH-cam is like a time machine, and I'm watching this eight months later knowing how James' personality developed as he grew up, and what he was like at the time of his release. This video foretold how special he was (is). I'm convinced he's one of his colony's leaders even though he's not quite an adult yet...all hail King James!

After watching your new vid about Mr. Grumpy and other bats in a rainy tree, little James popped up in my suggestions. James was a very special boy. So smart and had such a strong personality. So many people would scream at the sight of that cute little guy. There are many who have phobias concerning creatures they know nothing about.
I've been on a bat watching kick for the last 3 weeks. They dive bomb my driveway at dusk. They are amazing flyers! They will come within inches of my head and I don't need to flinch.

Holy shnikeys that little guy is cute. I was camping years ago when a young bat decided to hang out in our camp. It was a little unsettling at first but it was so darn friendly. Bats have a bad rap, they're actually quite fascinating.

Personally I think both rats and bats are cute. I've had a pet rat. Just couldn't get another one after my beloved friend died. They live such short lives. My heart can't take it.

OMG...I did as you suggested and contacted a Wildlife Rehabilitation Rescue Organization where I live and asked if they have bat carers there and the lady said, "YES!!" They have a meeting every month and the next one is February 21st and the next Wildlife Rehabilitation Class is March 21st!!! Oh my gosh, I'm so excited, I can't wait to go!!!

I love James! Here where I live they kill bats. It is illegal to rescue them. I had a baby bat flying around my house in December (Illinois, USA -so coooold). I finally managed to catch it, only to find that no one would help me. Letting him be euthanized was not an option for me. I managed to find “The Bat Man” in the neighboring state. I drove an hour and a half in the dark, freezing Midwestern winter to take him there. The man rescues bats and actually takes care of them in his belfry (yes, his house has one 😁). It was SO worth it. Seeing the little bat in a warm, safe home was everything to me. I don’t kill anything, even mosquitos. Even the smallest, most annoying little being has a right to its life, no matter how brief.
Yeah that's my I stopped blowing my nose. The cockroaches in my bed are starting to get me though. I have learned how to deal the mouse urine smell and droppings. It's worth it though, you know right to life and all. Welp, gotta' go my shift at the abortion clinic is starting soon.

Just LOVE this ... darling sweet James, so silky, soft, black and beautiful! Here in Melbourne we used to have a colony of Flying Foxes in our Botanic Gardens, and I used to love watching them at dusk. Anyway, there was a horrible war over them with people to be rid of them torturing them with noise, and others protesting. Eventually they found another park and are now happily thriving, their numbers gone from 30,000 to 50,000. We rarely get to see bats up close, so this is a valuable and most important educational channel .. Thank you for all your work with James and others & your videos! Sub'd :)

Me too! I just rescued a very thin young adult cat. She has the cutest petite ears. After a few months, she is looking puffy lol and so healthy!

Aviation Nut Not every bat that isn’t a flying fox is a vampire bat. Most bat species are insectivores. There’s only 3 vampire bat species
