Your are the sweetest couple, you truly are !! I so enjoy accompanying the two of you on your wonderful trips around our fabulous country, South Africa. Thank you! God bless!!
What a splendid idea, sharing your beautiful experiences with your fellow man, brilliant, so very special and unique, what you do you do so well, looking forward to your next stunning adventure, kind regards 👍👌😎✨
I remember back in 1993, I think the ticket was about R 30, no modern entrances etc, looked like a normal parking space lot outside your local Spar, pay cash and jump on, but being young and broke, we could only afford a one-way trip, so we decided to walk up the Platteklip Gorge for 3 hours, so once there, we were faced with a choice, have lunch in the restaurant and walk back down, or skip lunch and take the cable car, I was so knackered, we skipped lunch and took the cable car! 😂😂 Wonderful memories, keep them coming.
Hello 2 THE 2OF U NICE PEOPLE. QUICK LITTLE STORY; IN 1955, MY UNCLE AND AUNT LIVED ST THE TOP STATION AS HE WAS IN CONTROL OF BRINGING THE CABLE CARS UP AND DOWN. I SPENT A WEEKEND WITH THEM. ON THESUNDAY MORNING EARLY HE WOKE ME TO SHOW ME WHAT THE CAPE LOOKED LIKE, I WAS AMAZED AS I COULD'NT SEE ÀNYTHING, THE WHOLE OF THE CAPE WAS UNDER A CLOUD IT LOOKED SCARY AND YET BEAUTIFUL. THAT EAS MY EXPERIENCE. THANKYOU FOR A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE WITH THE 2 OF YOU. GOD BLESS
Table Mountain is an amazing sight. I have returned to Cape Town, from the sea, on a number of occasions. Coming from a world of nothing but blue water all around you and then seeing that magnificent mountain rising from the horizon and growing to be Table Mountain is an experience I will cherish forever!
The approach to this majestic mountain at sunrise under blue skies -- Wow! The "business" side of things have changed since I was there many, many years ago; long before 1958 cable car was upgraded. The mountain and scenery however remains stunning and spectacular. Thank you for taking me along on this wonderful outing. It brought back many cherished memories. Keep safe!
The video was fantastic. Thank you for taking us up Table Mountain because it is the only way we will ever see it at the rediculas prices they charge! It's all very fine for foreign tourists because the rand has such low value and their wages are high compared to the man in the street, they can afford it. Those prices deny the ordinary South African the chance to enjoy our own heritage. For example, on a pension of R2110 pm no state pensioner will ever see it.
Hi guys wow wow your arrival spot prime spot for parking brilliant what a treat travelling with you both to the top of Table Mountain my wife and I saw so many bits we remembered and the views of Cape Town stunning the red letter box was King Edward 7th reign early 1900s .the real down to earth and laughter the banter make these videos for me thanks for taking me along cheerio till the next one. Can I get one of those dustbugs hats please
There is only one Cape Town and it's an incredible beautiful city with an incredibly beautiful mountain. 🇿🇦⛰️ I've wanted to have DustBugs caps and shirts made for a long time, but never had the time and eventually got around to it. I'm testing out fabrics, durability, quality and such and hope to be able to sell to anyone who is interested in a few month's time. 🧢😁
It has been my good fortune to travel to the top of Table Mountain on a number of occasions. What an amazing experience! On one occasion it was at night - imagine sitting on a rock in the dark, looking out over a magic CapeTown, surrounded by silence and being able to hear dogs barking down below in Cape Town. Thank you for reviving memories of the most majestic mountain, and a magic city, in the world. You should do the Cape Point nature reserve some time.
Table Mountain is indeed a fantastic and awe-inspiring place to visit. I'm glad our video reminded you of good times on the Mountain. 🚡⛰️ We visited Cape Point on 15 February 2024, two weeks after Table Mountain. Check out Episode 454 if you haven't already. 🚙😁
So good that you are getting out and about Sonia, visiting awesome wheelchair friendly places. Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world with spectacular Table mountain. Thanks for sharing
We didn't wait long at all, despite there being quite a few busloads of tourists. The lines moved quite quickly. We were there early though, so I think that helped too. It was rather busy at the top and it got even more so as the day progressed. Enjoy, you'll Iove the experience and our beautiful Mother City! 😍🚠
Thanks for the beautiful views, enjoyed it in my lounge, even when Cutis stood on the rock, my stomach turned, Sonia you are braver than i am, there is no way i would have even got into the xable car. God bless
Hi Curtis and Sonia. I enjoy all your trips but the last few from train to Elgin the aquarium the waterfront and today's visit to Table Mountain I will remember forever as I will not be able to visit it myself. Hope for many more visits and travels with you. May your always drive and be safe. God bless😊
Hello: Like you, I remember the old cars, which you see when you drive in. Then you climb into the new-bigger car. Nice to of known the old vers the new. But the mountain has not changed. Same old, same old. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Regards East London.
Thanks for sharing. More fond memories. We were there around 2000. We were about the only ones, apart from heaps of Rock Dassies. fast forward about 20 years later, and the other way round. Thousands of tourists, but didn't spot one Dassie!
I must l was pretty nervous for the two of you. Very beautiful but also scary. Never would I ever go there to scared of heights. But very nice to see you both enjoy it so much.😊
Thank you Sonja and Curtis for taking me back down memory lane. I was there in 2004 last, wow. I felt so dizzy the whole time watching. That's my fear of heights. We do have fabulous places to visit in our country. Many thanks.
Toen was iedereen even stil …
Guys that was a great trip! The weather was perfect! The view was stunning! WOW Fantastic, Awesome, Lovely, Amazing 👏 Loved it ❤️ 😀 Thank you so much for taking us with you 🥰🥳 Til we meet again, keep safe xxx
Another great video! I went up several years ago with my mother and brother. It was a wonderful experience, but I do agree that the prices of food and refreshments are an absolute rip-off that definitely cater to tourists' deeper pockets. If I go again, I will take my lunch along. I have a terrible fear of heights, so I missed most of the cable car journey, especially down. Great to have been able to see what I missed.
Aw how lovely... We did a trip to Cape Town in Sept last year and went up the mountain.. Wanted to buy a Cooldrink at the shop, but it was just so busy and also very expensive... But it was awesome and we did the whole Red Bus tours...
Dustbugs Travel, you are making this very difficult for me...I also want to travel to all the beautiful places , but in order for me to travel, I have to quit my job, and if I quit my job, I can't travel..😂 Thank you for taking us with , this was breathtakingly beautifull
Now that brought back childhood memories for me. I was up there in 1966 .Also rode in the old cable car. I remember seeing a dassie and taking home a piece of fools gold .I actually thought it was real gold.. You guys picked a brilliant day to go. So often it can be cloudy . What happens to the cable cars when load shedding kicks in ? Cape Town certainly has so much to offer visitors. Thanks again for showing us the beauty of Table Mountain. Hoekom nie n beertjie vir Curtis? Especially in that hot weather. LOL.
I never gave loadshedding a single thought to be honest. It's such a huge operation though, so I imagine they must have a monster of a backup system to keep things going. 🇿🇦⛰️ The prices of beverages are ridiculous at the top. If a Monster costs R60, I can only imagine the price of a beer! 😳🍺 We forked out R80 for two Powerades to rehydrate. They did the trick just fine! 😁
Thank you for taking us Table Mountain, loved all the neat and clean paths to walk on, and you chose the perfect day to visit. My Mom says to me while we were watching, we've been to so many places with Curtis and Sonia 😄❤
I see that Curtis is sporting some great looking merch...t-shirt and cap with our favorite channels logo...when will we be able to get our own...don't get any ideas re pricing from the KNP and Table Mountains shops prices 😂...unless that's what you're doing by showing us the prices 😊...the food prices were horrifying. Unfortunately a large % of the locals cannot enjoy the Mountain Experience in their own City...I loved seeing the Checkers Sixty 60 delivery bike at the lower cable station...thanks for the trip guys. Its great that you're showcasing Cape Towns local attractions...
It's quite sad that the high cost of everything makes it impossible for many South Africans to enjoy the incredible places their own country has to offer. Nowhere was it clearer than atop Table Mountain. 🇿🇦⛰️ I remember you asking me about merch when we had somewhere between 100 and 200 subscribers. 😁 I have wanted to put our logo on shirts and caps for a long time now, but never got around to it and I finally had some done. I will now wear and wash them and check how they hold up and if I'm happy with the quality and if anyone is interested, I'll be happy to make them available. 🧢👕
very nice trip up the cableway, a brilliant day for sightseeing on table mountain.... although those prices seem to be set for European tourists ..... :( fyi: did you notice the geocaching "hotel" on the right wall at 46:08??
To be completely honest, I didn't even know what a geocaching hotel looks like, but I did check it out now. Thank you for pointing that out! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the trip up Table Mountain. 🚡😍
Table mountain is stunning any day of the week, if you could send up your drone the view would be absolutely breath taking from the top of table mountain , but I know you are not aloud , I love your shirt , do you sell them ?
I so wish I could send my drone up too, I can only imagine that view from above! And it was a windless day, it would've been perfect. 😍 I'm glad you like the shirt! I recently had a DustBugs cap and a few shirts made and I'm currently wearing and washing them to make sure the quality is up to scratch. I hope to be in a position to start selling to interested folks in a few months, so watch this space! 😁👕
Did you know that,on your birthday, you can go up for free!? Just take your SA id card with you!! Have been up on several occasions.... But can be hot in Feb!!❤❤❤❤
We didn't know this, but heard about it from a husband-and-wife who both have their birthdays in February. Sonia's and my birthdays are in consecutive months, so they're lucky to both go up for free on the same day. 🇿🇦⛰️
Fantastic episode, definitely affordable for foreign tourists but for us living here it's a once off treat. Agree wouldn't pay that for a drink, rather drink water 😅. Thank you Curtis & Sonja . Hope Dusty survived the heat😊
Where are all the profits of the millions of rand that are being made because the businesses that permits to set up on the money making are going because the people of Cape town are not seeing the wealth developing their city . If the city wants to project an image of a world class site but you have the sick areas like Mannenberg and others that are infested with drugs and poverty. The profits of the beauty should accrue to the residents and not only business owners .
We were certainly not on Table Mountain to film the workers, or any other people for that matter. Instead, we were there to enjoy and admire the spectacular beauty and views. 🚡⛰️🌊

The prices in South African currency terms are rather exorbitant and it did leave a rather sour taste in the mouth. 😖
