People who say most of the houses belong to foreigners are correct. The same phenomen hast taken place in Amsterdam, London and Sydney they are driven out by rich Arabs and Chinese. As soon as the rich Chinese have a taste for Cape Town the prices will be unimaginable. We are being driven out by speculators
You are so correct. This is not unique to South Africa. I do stay in a penensula town in Boston, Massachusetts which has some of the most expensive homes in the USA. A lot of these homes are owned by Asians and Arabs.
But it's not exactly "most" though. There was a sub-article on this from The Cape Town Times a few years ago and it showed stats but I can't remember the main article's title and it showed that it was a minority group of foreigners living on the altantic seaboard, majority was white South Africans.

Please do a cover on the northern part of South Africa,in the Limpopo province. You'll be incredibly humbled by the 100% black-owned housing developments, sprouting across that region. Especially in the Thohoyandou's Unit D. The mansions are solely black-owned in a deeply rural settings.
@@StevenNdukwu thank you,for considering that! Your coverage would change the misconceptions some people have about the dynamics of wealth distribution in SA. There's widely shared misguided narrative that most black South Africans do not command the material wealth in SA & are excluded from the mainstream economic participation. Although,to a large extent that is factual, the economic development gap is gradually being bridged. South Africa may be regarded as the most unequal country in the world, when it comes to racial wealth distribution its structural inequality does not equal abject poverty. Rather it is a representation of the disproportionate wealth gap between the underprivileged & the elites.
All provinces have 100% black owned properties, land, business and e.t.c. I am from Limpopo Tzaneen to be specific and I don't see why you needed to highlight the black owned thing, sounds weird. He was right to do so.
@@lozi4163 please do not impose your selective hearing & lack of good comprehension skills on me! For starters,i assume you have thoroughly watched the video & are acutely aware that Cape town is a lily-white city, hence the upmarket housing ownership is predomlinantly owned by white South African elites while the majority of the black people in that city are excluded through class & racial discrimination. Henceforth,i emphasized the need for an inclusive coverage when it comes to property ownership in SA & the persisting historical dynamics which are determining factors. It is an undisputed fact they are 100% black owned housing all over SA. Black people in the mostly rural, under-developed & under-serviced own a vast land but they lack capital for infrastructural development in order to commercialise the land. My mentioning of the Limpopo province was mainly based on the remarkable rapid growth of how the communities transformed the rural settings to rival or supersede some areas in the urban cities. South Africa
You have so much skill in your presentation. This video probably took a lot of time to edit, but the result is amazing! SA generally, and Cape Town in particular, has the BEST real estate on the entire continent. The quality, the greenery. I love how some of the properties incorporate boulders into the design of the home. This is what developers in Nigeria and Ghana should do...use the land and don't just pour concrete everywhere!! God willing, I'll be visiting soon.
Completely agree with you. Our developers don’t understand that luxury isn’t just about gadgets in the house.

Yeah the always ignore Somerset West/Gordon's Bay
You can't possibly have only 10 top suburbs when you're talking about Cape Town.....no Noordhoek, Constantia, V & A Waterfront, S/West, Gordon's Bay, Paarl....and then just around the bend you have the Overberg, more rural but some magnificent properties. Something for everybody, when you have the "bucks".

There is no doubt that these are some of the most spectacular and luxurious neighborhoods in the whole world. There are many pros and cons, though. Excellent video, well done man. The quality of your footage and insights are great. As a Capetonian it really was great to watch!
Gentrification, it's happening also in Portugal.
But it's not exactly "most" though. There was a sub-article on this from The Cape Town Times a few years ago and it showed stats but I can't remember the main article's title and it showed that it was a minority group of foreigners living on the altantic seaboard, majority was white South Africans.
Were can we see data or evidence of this claim????
Except its not true. The vast majority are owned by South Africans.

Please do a cover on the northern part of South Africa,in the Limpopo province. You'll be incredibly humbled by the 100% black-owned housing developments, sprouting across that region. Especially in the Thohoyandou's Unit D. The mansions are solely black-owned in a deeply rural settings.
Okay
All provinces are developing by the way and Limpopo our province is actually behind. Popular opinions is what blinds us as people, a little of humble approach will represent us Limpopo folks much better
@@lozi4163hope all is well. With all due respect, he had a point in regards to his comments. For example: I’m from the U.S. in the U.S when u mention SA wealth, most Americans know that you’re talking about White SA. South Africa is also, the closest in relation to America because of the diversity and WS that unfortunately still goes on in SA. U see, I truly understand why he needed to bring up Black ownership.
Your disapproval of my viewpoints has no substantial input, just an unprovocked emotional bickering, you even mentioned that you're from Tzaneen as if that insulated your lack of logic. Please find something to be outraged about because your incoherence is appalling.
