I used a flux paste, mixed it with Alcohol. It came out very smooth inside. Tacked foursides and went for it. You can weld seams the same way. No argon
You’ve asked a very good question that most cup-walkers can’t answer better than the this welder. I’m very old school from when “freehand or finger-walking” tig ruled the day and cup-walking was very new. There is a visual sign of full penetration with tig SS but using the freehand technique. The visual sign is being able to see what we called the “fusion line or the penetration line” down the center of the SS root/1st pass. This is not seen cup-walking!
Well done! Yeah, out there you got to deal with all kinds of crap and never expect the material to be perfect. TIG welding is my favorite. It's so nice and clean without sparks and metal drops flying around like stick welding does.
Perfectly! When welding the root, did you control that the bath was about 7 mm? the root is even on the ceiling ( in the position above the head ) came out well! The bath is mixed and the additive drops?! Thank you for your work!!!
This video is pure perfection!!! 👍🙌🏻Incredible skills!!! This is so hard to weld, and especially considering the fact there is no gap!! What size of welding rod did you use brother? Thank you! 😊🤝
Hey bud, thanks for your question . Good question btw.👍 Honestly I’ve never tried that technique on the pipe. Usually that technique is used when heat input is controlled and mostly on thin sheet plates. I don’t think that would work with no-gap joint as you need continuous heat input to form that root inside. Thanks once again, you give me something to think about 💪👍
Nice weld man. Ive never welded stainless with no gap. Your root is still meaty with no gap. Im gonna try this when I get on a job and have time to fuck around on lunch.
QC wouldn't let that happen. The heat input is too high the travel speeds too slow and the procedure calls for a gap. But I'll probably still give this a try next time I'm in a welding booth
Is there a way of telling if your getting good penetration on the root while doing it? And what are your thoughts on doing it in one pass? Great work by the way!
Thanks for your comment and support bud! On schedule, 10 pipes without a bevel is a little bit difficult as you won't get much penetration, especially on the overhead part, and I don't think that anyone will have such a challenge in the field. If you do! You can refuse that, and ask your fitters to fix that or give you a gap. You can do it in the rollout, but only for entertainment purposes. On schedule 5 it's a different story, you can perform welding without gap and bevel. As soon as I got my hands on schedule 5 I will make a video about it.
Too much pressure of argon was inside the pipe. Remember you have to let the purge bleed out as well. Even though you had 4 air holes to vent you need to adjust your argon flow rate to maybe 10-20lbs of pressure less and more flow on your tig rig. Then for the cap you can turn argon back up and suck back your root in that’s if you weld it all hot. If you let it cool then you can keep flow at the vent flow
So with Sched 10, it's fairly normal for it to have a dark colouring on the cap. I've been doing some Sched 10 full purge for work. All my caps are a very dark purple. Never the nice shiny silver!
@@X3MTIG thanks. I've been doing that. They came out a little better. Trying to get myself in to pressure welding in australia after 20 years of fabricating. Videos are helping lots. Thanks
Do you keep it purging through all the passes? I noticed it too with sched10...I also need to let it cool more... been doing the same at work, 4" sch10 stainless...316L though but no gap and full purge. Low pressure for ozone plant
You have to understand that is not easy to record the welding process, especially if you consider the fact that this guy is a field welder. He records his videos while working on various job sites, unlike many other video creators who are recording their videos in their own shop and have all the time it takes to record, plus they have also lots of money from TH-cam to provide them with the best possible equipment! This guys is just a normal welder who works and struggles just like the rest of us and gives his best to teach people!
@@mikewelder7014so true this is real talk. He brings is as raw and real as possible, its real life scenarios and real life jobsites. He still lucky, some plants I worked at you can't even use your phone🤦🏿🤦🏿. Much yet to record a whole welding process. You also must have a good friend to record for you as well cause not everyone is willing to just record you at any given time.

sch 10 stainless is my favorite welds to make...quick easy and clean welding...love it

Lets see this, very interested, hes always has GREAT CONTENT
You make that puddle move seemingly effortless. Thank you for sharing.
Отличная сварка брат! Спасибо за видео!
Odlicno zavareno!! Ovo je fakat tesko i hvala ti puno na detaljnoj deskripciji! 👏🏻👍🏻
Thanks buddy 👍

I see that cup walking also. You should see it regardless or your root is probably sucked back or non consumed edges.
Most definitely can do it walking the cup. Maybe not as easy but nothing in welding is impossible
Great as always!✊One can indeed learn a lot from you! Thank you for spreading your knowledge so unselfishly! Rarely good content! 💪🏻
Thank you for your comment 🙏

Спасибо!
Thank you my friend
Sem dúvidas, otimo profissional, ja tentou fazer a capa com menos material, tipo movimenotos mais longos e pouca adicao de vareta....só uma dica ..
Very good tecnik. That's good idea.
And the welder is intelligent 👌
Thank you my friend 🙏
You can do 1 pass on 3mm, no need for 2. Great video still
Thanks
I have issues on the bottom sometimes with suckback any tips to help correct this? Thanks great content and showing some of your knowledge
try with the heavier root at the bottom, it might help on hot pass!
Excellent master
Svaka čast majstore
Nice demo of field conditions... be the puddle!
Thank you for posting! 👏👏
Thanks bud!
What is the transparent cap you use for purging and heat resistant so you can see inside? Please
Clear lens for welding!
You are the genius
This video is pure perfection!!! 👍🙌🏻Incredible skills!!! This is so hard to weld, and especially considering the fact there is no gap!! What size of welding rod did you use brother? Thank you! 😊🤝
Thank you for your comment brother. I used 3/32 filler rod.
Thanks for posting the video. It could only be improved by adding a audio commentary. Thanks again.
Thanks for your comment bud! Maybe you are right, but english is my second language, so I choose not to use audio commentary!
Whenever I test I like doing the uncomfortable side first. That way I can make it or break it. Repair or let them run me off
Thanks for your comment bud! I do that as well, lol!
Hi.Mr.
Can You explain me for what the flowing argon injected into inside Mr?
Thanks for your comment bud. Argon was set to 25-30 Lpm
Thank you for posting this one!🔥🙌🏻 You have amazing and quality content, incredible skills , thanks for the subtitles! ☺️
My pleasure 😊
Is it possible to make back-bead at overhead position with no-gap condition? like that?

Thanks bud, you could tell by the puddle , and mostly experience. One pass, only on thinner wall.
Nice welding bro
Thanks bud!
Could you do this with out the control
Excelente trabajo 👍 saludos
Thank you! 😊
what local you from ,,, very nice work
With 488 atm
What amps for the cap or did you leave it on 90
Could show how to do it without the bevel ? (but still use wire)

How much current
What amps do you suggest for 5g
Failed how about inside if got rt?
Perfecto 👌
Quantos amperes no enchimento ?
Hey bud, around 130 amps
