    Just wanted to tell you man that I really love your channel, and reason being is not just that you are a great welder, but also is that you are one of us👨🏻‍🏭, normal guy who works at various work sites and doesn’t own his fancy welding shop and welds with perfect equipment! I read on the one of your other videos that you are working in Canada, so wanted to ask you if you are working outside when it hits -30C or more? I can’t even imagine being outside when it’s that cold, and especially welding ! 🥶

      Hey Mike,
      Thanks for your comment brother. Yes I’m working 90% outdoor, very rare end up in the shop for short duration. As union guy I’m mostly on shutdowns, and now I’ve been lucky to end up on the new project starting from underground work, and yes definitely I’ll be outside on -30 as this is Canada, lol . I will make some videos in extreme conditions as this is the reason why I named my channel x3m tig. Thanks once again I appreciate your support bro. 💪🙏

    Sight fucos, pulse, timing of how you supply the filler wire and the most important is how you adjust your current in your welding machine and your back backing gas or argon gas it is depends the size if pipes

    Just curious if youd get QC for excessive reinforcement on the inside

      Of course, I guess if he wanted to reject everything, there is always the "gradual transition" requirement that is in the code.

      I was thinking the same. I wonder if its not a trick of the lighting though, because it didn't look as heavy at the end of the vid as it did the first tine it showed the root.

    • @X3MTIG
      @X3MTIG  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Peter.Lecomte That’s just camera angle on the first shot of root. I like to do heavier roots, but not that much to be rejected. Other thing too, I like to run hot pass really hot, so it will suck back root to desired appearance. As I said, this video is about how I like to do it, not saying this is the best way to do it. I’m not the best welder in the world, but I’m pretty good at what I’m doing for living. If I can help anyone, even with just a little tip on how to do something differently, and if that turns out to be helpful for him, my mission is accomplished! Thanks for your comment bud.👍👨‍🏭

    i mostly fuse 10ga stainless sheet corners together for deairator boxs. i run them downhill at 180 amps inside corner to corner. I have to do the piping work around the shop because I have the only tig machine here. i may not be able to Walk the cup but I laywire and freehand. getting really good at it. wish I could have seen a few of your videos a few years ago. do you plan on showing how you get rid of wiskers in the root without grinding it out? i found a video on that but another idea couldn't hurt.

    Why you make a bridge tag on this little pipe??
    A normal tag is a lot easier and faster!

      Usually I do, but in this case QC wanted to do fit up check, and no root tacks allowed. Every place got their own rules.

    You have nice technique. Great welder but to me the penetration was to excessive in the codes I'm forced to work with most only let you have max retirement 3mm ive even had gas lines where it was 1.5mm max

    No Argon gas used.....most likely will not pass test, too much grinding required
