I experienced that problem today with my silvertop "yea silvertop " I was idling at 2000rpm, first thought it was my throttle being stuck but it wasn't.... stopped and hold the rev at redline for bout couple seconds and it dropped to normal 800rpm so thanks for this video I know what I gotta do
After 2 years I juz got my tacho working.It reads 1000 rpm after 15 mins of idling on an hot afternoon.I think this video might be good to lower the rpm btw 800 to 850 when the engine hot enough.I m frm Malaysia.Thank you for good illustration and explaination.

If the iacv is out of calibration can it cause it to idle at 500rpm maybe lower. I have a silvertop 4age that at idle hot or cold idles at 500 rpm plenty of power and is fine when driving
Hey I've gone through 4 different iacvs and I cant bring my idle down, I'm pretty certain I no vacuum leaks and I'm certain there are no shorts in the circuit and I cant get the idle down! Do you have any good condition ones for sale
My area is 876 now My 4age engine isn't starting when it's hot and I change even the coil and it's the same also not reving pass 4000 rpm computer capacitors looks fine. I distroy one set of starter brush already 8.5.4.4.7.4.3
Do you have any idea why my 4age 20v is idling at 500 rpm then dying on a cold start after about a minute? When the engine is warm its all good though.
My blacktop 20v on cold start idles at 1200rpm but as the heats up it gradually climbs to 1800rpm and sits there! Do you wreckon the IAC is causing this? Can it be taken apart and cleaned? Thanks
Hi there. Yes it is likey that which is causing this. Take off the air box and trumpets. Remove the air box back plate. Remove the iac and dis assemble it. Dont miss the glue covered allen screw on the side. When complete hang it off the side of the engine and adjust he small allen screw to get cold idle. Adjust the bimetalic spring slide screws to get cold idle speed. Pour boiling water on the valve to emulate it being on the hot cylinder head for the idle to come down. Make sure you have no air leaks anywhere else. Aliexpress sells new iac cheap. For a long time also I ran a ball valve and bypassed the iac and set by own idle with a ball valve turnable tap. Hope this helps. Rex in New Zealand.

Is there a fuse or relay that controls the idle air control valve?
My car is a ae101 4age blacktop idles at 1200rpm cold start then rises to 2000 rpm
Just the idle control valve it probably wants cleaning as well all the build up of carbon

What must I do if its idling too low
Take the valve off. Blean it. Free it up. U seal the side allen key. This sets the base idle.
You know I might not be feeling well because of my experience Christmas night and you didn't even ask if I was ok yesterday.
