The i a c valve, is not the only component which exhibits the symptoms explained & described in this video.! A dirty throttle body also creates the same flaws- responses.!
I have both cleaned at 50-70k if noticing any of these issues. neither needs to be removed always but sometimes the throttle body to get both sides of the butterfly then spray carb cleaner into the square air intake to the i a c valve. with the air hose removed from it you should see fluid that's clear come out once you flush out the carbon and gunk. this is probably the easiest way to clean i a c valve that's not very dirty as well as the throttle body just spray/wipe out method. maintain it is best if not removing both once there is finally a problem it's probably gummed up visibly when looking at the square intake that leads to the i a c valve. I'm removing both at 69k and doing the full removal of both unless the throttle body looks surprisingly clean. if so I'll do the spray through method on the i a c
It really seemed like my problem was the idle air control valve. I have a vacuum leak I couldn't find. The idol was bouncing up and down, it was a rubber seal in between the brake master cylinder and the brake vacuum booster. When I press my brakes hard it idles fine, and when I take my foot off it bounces.
There is nothing to reset for the iAC Valve. It needs cleaning of carbon build up . The problem that I had on my 1992 Lexus sc400, was the solenoid valve screw/push pin and the two bearings that hold the magnetized driveshaft in place. I lubricated the bearings and the pushpin with light lubricant. I also rubbed the two O- rings with my oily fingers , sparingly. Reinstalled the Valve and took a general look at the vacuum tubes for crack/leak and clamped. The idling problem was fixed. yay
Thank for very good information. What about if my car running for about 20 minutes and when the engine gets hot, when i turn on clutch and rpm low my engine shut off
So I’m having an issue when the air conditioning is running, at a stop, traffic, stop light etc, it will surge up and down from 750-450. Ver noticeable. Could this be the issue? Haven’t stalled yet. It’s also odd it only does it when ac is on. Also tried cleaning it but no change.
Try to add an fuel aditive, i use Liqui Moly on my diesel, then go for a drive above 20kms and with RPM above 2000. On that drive reduce to the lower gear and step on the gas and look if you have black smoke. Petrol engine it's too much crap on the muffler, lambda sensor or oxygen sensor. Diesel could be egr, bad diesel on the same gas station, running short distances. Use any aditive first and go for a 50 kms drive and if you can and when you can push it until gear changes or it's time for you to change it. Mantain the engine above 2000 RPM the whole time if you can. Why? The heat will mealt all the crap and everything will come out from the exaust, muffler. Keep adding a good aditive for a few tanks.
Yes i found the rubber flap on valve cover vent ripped ..what got me is i had a so called mechanic changed .i found out one and he couldn't find problem ..i opened the oil fill while running engine 2 min test to find problem..20 dollar fix
And yet, i bet he was a better mechanic, than you are at speaking English. Your comprehension leaves much to be desired. By your standards, does this make you a "so-called" American?
Good morning Teacher I might be having a little trouble I need your help. Remember I was telling you that I have a 20-7 a HHR I'm going to see if I solved the problem with it
made it to3:26 and i had enough of the stupid music why do people think they need music to explain something its sad that every thing has some sort of music really sad
My truck was shifting wierd it would get stuck and rev high and bang it would shift hard as hell my mass air flow sensor was dirty soon as I cleaned that the check ingine light turned off and It started shifting perfect again
The title of the video, Symptoms of a bad idle air control valve, starts at 2:11
🙏 You A Real One
💯
Legend
Thank you
This was painful to watch but a great lesson on developing patience ~ talk about taking 19 years to get to the point ~ Damn
😂
I also loved the ancient tech that was displayed. ❤ next time I'm working on an Edsel I know which videos to watch.

I think a failed vvt valve has the same symptons also

Before you do all that. Check air filter, throttle body, vacuum leaks, wiring loose, fuel filter etc.
The part where the negative battery cable needs to be disconnected first.. is the key to function well.. Thank you for the video.

Your idle problems might be as simple as a vacuum leak somewhere in the system .

Any suggestions if what causes
Hi. Mine does the same. Have you figured out what was causing it?
Sounds like your ECM…I had the same problem.
@@westwind2550 yes i figured it out and the problem is in EGR...
Thanks for information it was my purge solenoid valve on mine

Same thing is happening to mine. Did you find out what it was?

It's normal for an engine to surge when the a/c is on. It's the compressor doing that!
@@catsurreal1655 I don’t think this kind of surge is/was normal… I took an IAC valve I got from my other car and it stopped.

Very well explained in short
Not true
Do you think someone can help me and tell me where the ilder valve is on Kia soul base 2016 please help me
can a iac valve only work when the car is warmed up? sometimes i have to push the pedal in the morning to keep it running.
@@rizwanrfk4548 Na wtf I want to junk it
same thing is happening to mine right now, what was wrong with yours?
Same as my 88 Silverado
Just got iMac switched in my car the idle was erratic and rpm fluctuates now is good
Funny thing it caused traction control light to pop up
Spend more time explaining the process to clean the valve . People are going to fry their electronics if they don't do it right
Brake cleaner or electric cleaner, just make sure to keep the motor, upward when spraying out use some Q-tips to help clean in the tight areas
what about fast idle

What about humming noise
Will a bad IAC valve cause a vehicle to not shift when it is supposed to
Hey man did you figure it out, same thing is happening to me.
@@Pyyki not for sure to be honest changed a couple different sensors and new filter and fluid but it seems to be shifting so far
@@Pyykicheck your transmission fluid you might be low
Yeah if the transmission fluid is low, it won't want to shift

Thank you!
could someone tell me why is there gas in my throttle body and the check engine lita is on but no codes on the reader plus no start
How about high acceleration? At stops often it accelerates itself at maximum rpm and has to be thrown in neutral. I'm told its the iac valve hey.
Thank You so much! I understand more with the video 😂🙌🏽
Look for iacv for 1999 infiniti qx4 location
That's A.i.
Thank you.
So... To reset an IAC valve is actually to remove the valve and clean? ??? 😅 You are a troll!!
great work mein
IACValve
Okiedokie Ty looking else wer I don't have patience
Terrible. Just terrible..
