      Much rather buy a used one, depreciates less, less likely to have random bugs and issues compared to a brand new car, parts likely to be readily available. Why choose something like a new 1.0 A3 over a used M140i 😂😂😂

    Got mine in 2017 its on a 63 and was on 53k now on 88k. 5 years and 35k miles its had 1 breakdown (fuel injector which cost £600 to fix but was a full service with plugs). Drop links , rear shocks , front discs and pads and 2 sets of tyres about sums it up with servicing at a german specialist. Guess im around the £2200-£2400 ball park for 5 years ownership which i think is really good. £10 a week £40 a month sort of cost so go buy 1 and enjoy people : )

    Great video. Just gone from an lci 135 to a 140. Unbelievable cars for the money. The power and performance is unmatched when factoring value. I miss the sound of the N55 though. Luckily the MPE on the 140 makes up for it. Keep up the good work bro. Also highly recommend a ghost immobiliser. A pain in the arse but fantastic piece of kit

    • @CarNitty
      @CarNitty  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Although visually it's the same car, the jump from a N55 to a B58 is massive but you can't knock the N55. Good cars for the money since they're so much cheaper but the B58 is worth every penny though.
      The N55 trump card will always be the noise but it's hard to put down an MPPSK B58 as they're amazing if you ask me but the difference isn't huge enough to knock the B58 in my opinion.
      A ghost immobiliser is a must on any car worth circa £20k. With my M135i, I had a Faraday bag and a Stoplock Pro Elite (m sport steering wheel left is too common too) which is all fairly sufficient but on the M140i, a ghost is definitely needed!

    This is a great presentation. I've got a 120i M Sport, and bought it at 5 yo with full BMW Service History. I think they have a service warranty plan at £60 per month, so might go for that (at a main BMW dealership near me). So £60 per month for something like a M135i is very good.

    The running costs aren’t half bad on an M-lite. I was like you, worrying about how much it was going to cost to run but when it comes to servicing, I do the majority of it and even when it goes to a specialist it’s not bad. M cars are a different kettle of fish considering it’s ‘M tax’.
    Gutted your getting rid of the car though. Have you made a decision into what you want next?

    • @CarNitty
      @CarNitty  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're not really not bad at all for servicing or maintenance. People assume they're higher to maintain just because they require an extra 2 spark plugs.
      The M tax truly is ridiculous isn't it? One of many things that can stop people getting into one.
      Yeah it was a hard decision to get rid of it but I've already bought my new car. It's still got 6 cylinders. Hang tight to see what it is as a video will drop soon!

      I've already bought my new car. It's a 6 cylinder powerplant. Still petrol ofc. A reveal video will drop in the next few weeks so hang tight.
      Older M cars require a lot of work. An E46 M3 is no longer modern enough to daily drive in my opinion. It's something that has to be a weekend toy due to the age of it. An E92 M3 will be very thirsty on fuel and the common rod bearing issues and finally an F80 M3 commands huge money!
