I am pleased that you are on the case. This is an issue for me. I’ve had bare cams exposed to the elements. I’ve decided that any new cams will be shielded ‘ housed to avoid sunlight and direct rain. The OG stalk does not allow the flexibility of height that I want within enclosures. Just tonight I set a new OG telephoto. Removed the stalk mount, and adhered an unforgiving 3M adhesive to bottom of the new OG, with steel “coin” base. I repurposed a “dead” Outdoor cam’s base. It fits to the OG and into my wooden enclosure perfectly. If I screwup, I’ve got a bunch of dental floss. I installed the memory card first. I cut the adhesive donut. Only used one half. It’s enough. We’ll see.
Had a setback with epoxy. two brands did not hold up to weather. Not working on it regular, but haven't given up yet. Thinking of viability of soldering instead of epoxy if I can get something to hold them together.
Hey Folks. In reference to my adapter video posted earlier; after 23 days, my epoxied nut/screw adapter the was in use fell apart. I checked the two that I did a couple of days ago and they both came apart with low force. Apparently it does not work permanently. I will investigate.
Wyze really made a bad decision. I guess they figured most consumers would just use the cam as is. Fortunately where I live I'm able to order a cheap (aluminum) adapter for less than a US dollar (plus shipping).
