    Thank-you, I was pondering ideas for hanging bigger items and your adjustable lower keyhole bracket was an excellent solution! I have metal siding and don't want to drill holes to mount my cameras and solar panels. Kudo's for coming up with some great solutions!

    Hey just wanted to let you know. I bought and installed the mini solar panel (and the one used in this video) used in your original solar panel video. Works a treat charging my doorbell couldn’t be happier.
    My question is the solar panel used in this video, SUNYIMA 6V 10W. It has 2 usb outputs, but if 2 cameras were connected would it split the output to 3v each per camera? The cameras say 5v minimum required for charging. So I’m just wondering if I’d need to buy a 12v solar panel with 2 usb outputs available?

    • @FrakkingCreations

      The 2 USB PORT solar panel I used will split the current with the voltage remaining the same. With enough sun, the voltage will be around 5V while the current will be split. I'm just not sure if it's a 50/50 split of the Amperage or some other ratio between the 2 ports.

    If you don't want to watch the whole video... the hack is to just bend the top of the clip a bit with pliers. Good video if you have not seen these before, but I have and was mostly just interested to see what the "hack" was.

    A different question, ignoring the cosmetic flaw, can scratches/holes from these installation cause damage to the slides in the long run?

    • @FrakkingCreations
      @FrakkingCreations  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There won't be any holes on your siding since there is no drilling. As for damage, there typically shouldn't be any damage if installed correctly. I could imagine that if the siding of the house is really old, there may be a chance that the vinyl could crack or a piece could break off when you insert the hangers or hang something too heavy.
      I just haven't encountered that though.

  • @jeffn1524

    A quick question, was wondering if you think it would hold a 10 pound outdoor speaker if I used two and also do the hack?

    • @FrakkingCreations
      @FrakkingCreations  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can't say for 100% sure because everyone's vinyl siding is different and if older or worn, it may not hold well.
      That said, you could always try using 4 hangers with the hack. You could attach the speaker to a piece of square or rectangular board that the speaker can attach to and then the board would attach to the hangers. Make sure you are testing it out properly before actually hanging the speaker on it. You don't want it to drop and damage it.

    Can these be used on metal siding as well?

    • @FrakkingCreations
      @FrakkingCreations  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure. I'm not familiar with metal siding that is designed similar to the vinyl siding shown in the video. Maybe if the metal siding is designed the same way as these vinyl siding panels that come in sections and are snapped in place together then it may work.

    Do you know if these will work with the ring spotlight cameras?

    • @FrakkingCreations
      @FrakkingCreations  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Since I don't have one I can't say for sure. But if your mount has 3 or 4 holes to put screws into, I believe it should work. If it only has 2 vertical holes then you will need to use something like what I did for the solar panel since the bottom vinyl siding clips won't align with the hole in the mount.
      Does that help?

    • @anthonys.1374
      @anthonys.1374 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FrakkingCreations the ring mount has two on top and two on bottom .. you think using two of these on top and putting a screw and nut on bottom would hold it?

    • @FrakkingCreations
      @FrakkingCreations  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It should be the other way around. The vinyl siding clips should be attached to the mount at the bottom. The nut and bolt should be at the top. I believe it should hold but you will have to test since I don't know how your siding is and other variables.
      And if needed, you can do the hack I suggested to hold more weight.
      Lastly, if the above doesn't work well, you can always mount the camera mount onto a small wooden plate then attach the plate to the siding.
      Hope that helps.
