  • I'm showing you the difference between #3 and #5 zippers in this super short demo. At Sew Hungry Hippie, we sell these two sizes because they are often used in bag making. My approach to sewing IS and HAS ALWAYS BEEN to just go for it and do the thing. Stop overanalyzing and comparison thinking because it won't help you advance your skills. Only DOING will.

    Love the common sense ! I started using #3 zippers because it was all I had. Now I love all the variety in the # 5’s.

    I love your approach to bag making. Not getting caught up in the little details. I like you, gravitate to size 5 zippers. I think the zippers and the pulls really add to the design of the bag.

      Me too, I love #5 zippers! They add some heft and interest to the look.

    I so love your philosophy when it comes to sewing . I was making bags before there was any bag hardware and wide tape zippers. Oh how I hated having to use those narrow tape clothing zippers. Your zippers are absolutely eye knockers. 😘

    Love your attitude and encouragement to all. I really enjoy tips of the trade. Just watch one of your videos about tacking the corners of the bag and had a project I tried it on. Perfect . Going to use this on all bags from now on.

    I have discovered that some patterns from other vendors will tell you to cut the unit to a specific size after sewing in the zipper, which I found works well if you use #5 instead of the required #4.5. But for any other bag I've made, the size has not made a difference at all.

    Can we use either end of the zip when attaching the zipper pull?

    • @SewHungryHippie
      @SewHungryHippie  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but sometimes one end is easier than the other -- just try it.

    For beginners does is the 3 or 5 better?

    • @SewHungryHippie
      @SewHungryHippie  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the #5 is easier, that's why I use it more often. :D
