    Thanks so much for this content. Neophyte seamstress here 🙋🏾‍♀️. Getting ready to put in the zipper and of course I ran to TH-cam 😂. @@SewAnastasia so it turns out, it wasn’t that easy, for me. My sewing machine is 22 years old and the presser foot doesn’t raise up very much so it was difficult to pull the zipper closed and once done my sewing line was off. Should I keep trying or throw in the towel and buy a new machine? LOL

    Great technique, though I'm wondering if this exact approach only works for zippers with small pulls? I was creating a bag with a heavier zipper, which made it impossible to fold sideways to allow the presser foot to pass by. Since the outside is basted shut, I had to rip the seam open while the piece was still on the machine in order to pull the zipper through and past the needle. Is there a better way to use this same method with bigger zippers?

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can leave your zipper fully zipped up when you do this. Just be sure that it is center to the seam.

    If you are putting the zipper in a dress, do you still put the zipper tape all the way up to the top of the dress back. I'm guessing that you would have to add a hook and eye at the top. But what if you don't want to add a hook and eye???????

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The zipper tape goes to the top of the dress so you have something to sew over for finishing it. A facing, bias tape, bias facing, lining etc. You do not have to put a hook n eye. Check out this video where I finish the zipper with the lining. I think it will help you . th-cam.com/video/wbXGlbMEAb4/w-d-xo.html

      Try turing on the CC so you can just read it.

      @lindachandler5980 Are you serious? This was an instructional video... not some meditation aid. Either learn to sew on your own, or learn how to treat people. Especially when you want something from them.
      At least the creator is getting brownie points towards the algorithm for the engagement factor. 😅😊🙏

      It's a shame that this is the top comment right now as I'm watching this video. I actually had to turn my volume up to hear what music you were talking about as being distracting because I couldn't even hear it. This is the first video I've seen from this creator but she's very good at what she does and I just think it's sad that people have gotten to the point that they just have to nitpick everything to death instead of just enjoying the free content.

    I will say the explanation and the actual sewing started on different sides. That might confuse those doing zippers on their beginning sewing journey.
