- In this video, I will show you my workflow for creating realistic trees in blender. This we will do with an built-in addon in blender called Sapling tree generator. And don't worry you can create good looking tress with it.
I will show you my step by step process for creating realistic trees in blender and at the end of this video we are going to test them against paid trees to see if it's worth buying paid tree assets or not.

Great tutorial mate, cheers, and just to mention - any leaf image on a white background will do, and Gimp is a great free image manipulation software to easily add alpha channels ! Again - Great stuff!
WHO EVER SEES THIS PLEASE MAKE SURE TO ACTIVATE ARMATURE AND ANIMATION BEFORE THE REST BECAUSE YOU WILL NEED THIS AT THE END OF THE VIDEO BUT IF YOU DONT YOU WONT BE ABLE TO ACTIVATE IT AGAIN AND YOU WOULD HAVE TO MAKE THAT AGAIN like me....

@@bro-3d The only 2 things I have been having trouble with are 1: when trying to make the leaves transparent, they aren't doing so. Instead the gap just remains black or any other color besides transparent (even with alpha going to the other alpha) and 2: F9 rarely brings back the menu once you click off. Can these be resolved?
@@riellerthecreeper Make sure the image is transparent and it should be in .png format. Try using this one www.pngwing.com/en/free-png-zuepz
The f9 will only work if you haven't done any action such as move, rotate, scale. After that if you press F9 it will show you the settings of last done action
@@riellerthecreeper There is some setting that let's you set ALPHA HASHED so you need a transparent PNG image, run the alpha to alpha as shown here AND set it to ALPHA HASHED and view in rendered mode and it will for sure get rid of the black edges.
go to the node settings and make sure it is on alpha clip. I had the same issue ;)@@riellerthecreeper

How to link the leaves and the trunk without losing the animation and scatter the same using the particle system?
I think I’m gonna get speed trees just for the convenience this is a great tutorial but when I have to make dozens of trees on top of other assets it’s just 1 less thing to worry about

In the animation tab there is a checkbox for loop animation

@@karankathuria4718 no add the animation to the tree who have textures
@@galaxynael714 The animation has to be added when initially creating the tree. In his tutorial he didn't mention that at first so when I did it originally I had to redo the tree because I didn't realize the animation had to be created. What you have to do is follow the steps like normal, but don't click out of the creating tree menu and follow his animation steps that come later in the video. Does that help?

What is the requirements for this your pc details? And do you use drawing tablet or not for it? Tell me
how did you move the tree animation from one tree to the other
Don't UV unwrap the trunk/branches...UV's are automatically generated when converting to mesh...after converting it to mesh, go to the UV layout, and rotate the UV's -90°, now the UV's should be perfect, just scale the bark image in the shader material setup if needed.

I don't see a menu with tree settings. The menu that is located in your video is in the lower left corner (1:05). Please tell me how to enable it. I have the default blender configuration. I didn't change anything after installation except adding a plugin.
I figured it out. The problem was that I first added the tree and then deleted the starting cube. It was important to first remove the cube and then add the tree.
I like that you blur out the file selection so I don't have to see Windows.

make sure node wrangler is enabled in edit -> preferences -> add-ons

my 1st tree was not showing the tab when i hit F9 after uv mapping and textured but when i worked on the 2nd tree F9 shows up with animation, how do i solve this
make animation in the first time u open tree that will fix it and then do shading stuff

i scattered them using geo node instances, but the leaves doesnt seem to follow the tree (only the tree are instanced)
Ok so I found this weird idea, duplicate the same geometry node and replace the trees with leaves. And keep the seed same
for everything
In blender trees and grass is not easy but not difficult but in unreal Engine free grass and tree pbr material easy to use you try this.

you can get it on many free textures website. I recommend ambientcg.com
The tutorial was really helpful until the point where I needed to reopen the generator menu. Hitting F9 resulted in a lot of nothing and I would have to redo everything to get it animated.....
when i follow the transparency alpha step. it just doesnt work. ive added a transparent png image

Very good video, but you dont mention this: after applying material to leaves, the tree editing is gone. F9 wont work anymore.

Rename the Uv maps with same name (exact uppercase and lowercase letters) then select both of them and press CTRL+J

Enable Node Wrangler Add-on. Edit > Preferences > Add-ons > Search for Node Wrangler

no, not really. If you explore other paid and free options they would generally be 300,000 , most commonly 500,000 and 1,000,000. And some even 5,000,000 and I'm not kidding
