My sister was a traveling nurse.
She traveled from the west coast to the east and states in between.
    She loved it!
Her last contract was in Maine.
Her next contract would have been in California but unfortunately she passed away .
    Thank you !
I know nursing can be stressful and hours are long.
I know this comment didn't have anything to do with pay scale and contracts.
Thank you for listening God Bless!

As a staff RN I brought home 1200- 1400 every two weeks net pay. As a travel RN I've made as much as $3200 to 4000 per week. Big difference.
Covid rates have dropped but there's still some good paying contracts. I'm with AYA too!

Do you mind revealing where you live ? 😯.. as a PCT (Patient Care Tech /CNA) and at my hospital I make that much. I’m in Washington DC. Going to school for RN but the complaints I hear, then to hear that amount I’m like 🤔. Definitely going to finish school though because at the end of the day I’m kinda tired of the labor work as a tech and know I could be doing much more. Think I’m approaching bedside burn out and just need the change as well 💕

Currently I’m a nomad. I’ve just been traveling. You’ll be burnt out as a nurse too, with more responsibility. It comes with the territory. Take a break bc burn out is real😩

Don't count on seeing sights. Nursing is rewarding but exhausting. Travel nurses are not out there exploring like tourists. They sleep on their days off. It's not a glamorous job but you will be able to go on vacation of your choice on your own time. Home schooling might be difficult unless you higher a private teacher or hubby stays home. You will be too tired to do it.

That’s what I did, sometimes we have to do the 3-way, and MANY black nurses had to do that route. LVV to ADN to BSN, bc WE aren’t getting in the traditional way like the others(clears voice). What’s most important is for you to finish, pass boards, and wk at a place where your voice will be heard as a black nurse. Don’t be silent, and make a difference. There is still a lot of prejudices in nursing, however YOU can make a difference and set the tone for your career.

    • @taheeshab.4208
      @taheeshab.4208 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

You can do traveling nursing as a LPN too. Yes the contracts are half what the RN's make, but it's still better pay than being a staff nurse in any facility. You can do it as an alternative to help pay down those loans for RN school or to pay for school without using loans.

My favorite and most realistic nurse TH-camr. Always love how informative and transparent you are to your followers. I just wanted to thank you for the previous times that I’ve reached out and you replied and even did a video.. fast forward, I will be doing travel nursing between Florida,NY, and Texas as I always love Florida-hence the video you did with the rates, ratios, and union. Stay bless and I dont think I will go back to a fulltime staff. 🥰🩺

Thank you for breaking this down. I’m new to traveling. I’ve only done a month long assignment with Krucial Staffing. I’m interested in more assignments, but leery about some of the places these agencies want to send nurse. There needs to be a list of places to avoid. Any insight in this area will be greatly appreciated. I don’t have Instagram.

The only reason I’d be a staff nurse is to learn a different specialty, but besides that all my nursing moves will always be travel! It sucks doing the same job as the travelers but getting paid 2X less
