  • I started my new journey as a travel nurse in Kingston, Ontario. In this video, I share what I do as a night shift nurse in this mental health unit. In case you're curious what a mental health nurse does in a hospital, here's a quick overview.

      Hey! Mental health is one of my fave units. And it’s hard in a different way. It can be mentally and emotionally exhausting. Compared to med surg which is more physical labour. All specialties are hard, so it’s up to you where you’d like to learn the most.

    Hello, may i know the work schedule for travel nurses in canada please? As in do they only work 12 hour shifts for 3 days or do they have to work more? And can we always choose the specialty we want to work in? Please let me know how it works, it would be really helpful for me, thank you.

      Hey there! Each hospital you work with will have a different schedule. For example, in this contract, I was given full-time hours (75 hours for 2 weeks), and it was two days on, two days off. Each contract will be different. And you can choose the specialty as long as you have experience in that specialty. I had experience in mental health so I could do a mental health assignment. You need at least 1 - 2 experiences in the specialty you want to work in.

    How many times do you have to give meds ? In night shift?

    • @jeriineniicole
      @jeriineniicole  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One at 9 pm and another time at 6 am (if they’re mental health/medical patients) :) otherwise, just once at night before they go to sleep :)
