- There are many PROS of living in a Carpathian village surrounded by mountains. But in this video I am talking about some big CONS of living in such mountain areas which everyone should consider before making decision to buy a house with land in such area.

A house in the mountains would be a dream come true, fresh air, cold winters working to survive........10 years ago. Now I would be happy with a lowland house with land, a good wife. Some where to grow food, live in peace and die in peace. This is my idea of heaven.
I know some people whose pretty old parents live in some far away mountain villages in Carpathians and they are pretty happy there.
But you should know everyone around such village because they help each other quite a lot and live a pretty happy quiet life in such villages.
these houses are fantastic. And im a professional.
What I learn from this video, modern human can not survive in such a land, vacation might be ok. Thank you for the information. By the way, a small issue of your videos, the audio volume is always low, I have to tune my old computer to 100%, but when the ADs come up, it will be too loud.

For many people vacation in Carpathians is the best choice as you have to get used to living in such areas.
Thanks for pointing out about the audio volume. I have a not so new laptop here in the office and it plays all right, but I'll look for another mic in the meantime.
The Carpathians look beautiful and I would certainly like to visit them but probably not to live - too many of your 'cons' to make it viable for a retiree like myself.
Other western regions like Ivano Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Ternopil etc, however... 👍
Yeah, nice cities to visit, but I am used to the Southern lifestyle. For me it would be difficult to live in those cities because mentality is a bit different there...
@@UkraineScamExpert If you could differentiate between southern and Western Ukrainian mentalities in a sentence or two, how would you describe it? (I was thinking more the oblasts, not so much the cities themselves...)
@@CymInUA Difficult to answer in several sentences. In the south people are more open, we joke quite a lot, make fun of many things to make life easier. In the west many people do not understand jokes at all and are not open.
It's something you notice from the very beginning, sometimes even before starting a conversation.
Carpathian region which is closer to Hungary, people speak half Ukrainian/half Hungarian, but in such way that we do not understand. We just have to ask to speak in Ukrainian without those hungarian words and for many, especially old people, it is not easy to do as they speak in such way all their life and most of the time never get out of their villages anywhere :)

No thanks, I prefer going to South American to get flat land plot within half hour of town less stress hot all year round and more free relax time!

What about electricity? I'm in the NW part of USA and putting in the wires can be very expensive depending on the distance you need to go.
Carpathian region has been electrified pretty good during Soviet Union, so actually many villages are electrified throughout. However, if access to electricity is far, you will have to pay for connecting the electricity, but if you watch my previous video, house is electrified even though it is away from all other houses.
Probably any land plot that you will buy in Carpathians will have access to electricity, unless you plan to build a big hotel and will need much more power, but I think it is not the case with you 😀
How come you are not fighting for your country? Did you pay someone off?
I work in a refugee center as a psychologist 4 days per week and that is my duty to help during the war.
You should also know that only about 10% of total amount of soldiers are in infantry, 90% of people serve the army in other ways.
