Mr. Captain, you should to take a picture with the same guitar as your Grand Father, since you still have it! Put this picture side by side with the original one.
I think when addressing a Captain, the extra "Mr." is unnecessary. Captain is the prefix.

Went to a competing guitar shop chain in Reading and, because I am freakishly tall, was able to source a "top shelf" Gibson to try out. No sooner had I lowered it to strumming position before a man came and asked me what I was doing, why was I taking instruments off the wall, etc. It wasn't even an overly expensive one. Andertons has spoiled me with being able to touch and taste all sorts of high priced strung wonderness ... and I now will not shop anywhere else.
Jonathan Cooper our local PMT have locks on everything now, it's really sad that you can't freely check the instruments weight and feel as you browse, plus the staff seem annoyed if you're constantly asking to try multiple guitars in your hand.

thats a shame... PMT in Manchester are really helpful - they dont want you grabbing the 3k guitars, but most others all you do is a quick "check polite ask" and then whip it down.
Whens last time you've been to PMT, i presumed all their stores lock the Guitars now and you have to request them to be unlocked?

I travelled all the way from South Wales last year and stopped in, bought a set of strings, and simply just wandered around in awe of all the beautiful guitars.
Also tried out a Schecter Omen Diamond Series 7-String in one of the practice rooms and Rob gave me a nod of approval through the window as I played some neo-classical shred :)

Andertons is the best music shop I’ve been to, trying out EVERYTHING in those little booths is the most fun ever!

jofarrell4 I bought a Strat on Denmark Street about 20 years ago, small pokey shops and not a patch on Andertons.... I say 20 years ago, it was 1992, deluxe plus with Fender Lace pickups in natural ash.
Poor british fellas - get on that french train to cross that pool of water and come to thomann. You'll find that some shops are good, great even... yet thomann is on a completely different level.
The whole of Anderton's would fit within thomann's drums department, leaving room to spare. I'm talking real drums - the whole of Anderton's would also fit within thomann's electrical drums department, which is a different place altogether.
I'm sure Anderton's is a good shop - but if Anderton's is 'great', thomann is 'heavenly', just by virtue of comparison. Still, the video content of Anderton's, to me, is vastly superior, which makes Anderton's the more entertaining youtube shop for sure - credit to the Captain, Rob, Bea, Joss and of course Pete. Especially Pete.
Yawn. Maybe they have the biggest shop, but Anderton's have something they do not have: Character, personality and the ability to brighten your day with a simple gear video.
I've been playing guitar for nearly 5 years now, and it has been awesome watching the Anderton"s crew along the way. Probably the first guitar related content I found on TH-cam. It's impossible to state how much of an impact it has had on my guitar playing journey so far; Bea is one of my absolute favorite guitar players, Danish Pete is incredible, Chappers is a beast. It has also been rewarding to see Lee improving so much as I learned at the same time.
The Anderton"s store looks incredible too, the brand everyone has managed to build (especially as other brick and mortar music stores struggle) is really a testament to how important it is to connect with your customers on a more personal level. Even though I've never met any of the guys, watching the videos for so long has made Anderton"s seem like a hometown music store, even though I live in the Southern US! Same for Riff City as well. Keep it guys, and I ever make it to England, Anderton's will be paid a visit!
I traveled from ARGENTINA to buy my kemper. And I meet the Captain too!!!! It was like may 22th 2017. AMAZING SHOP. Great guys working there!
Their humour and charm somehow makes me forget the glaring lack of an apostrophe in the name of their store. Well done lads.
It doesn't belong to one Anderton (Anderton's) or even multiple Andertons (Andertons'), it's just named after multiple Andertons in the family, and is therefore called Andertons (plural of Anderton)
@@Jamie_kemp Lee should change his & company's name to Andertones and release some weird subtle music. Then have his brother change his name to Overtones, create a rival band and become an extremist politician.
When I was living in the UK the Andertons guys always treated me very well. Nice store, nice and knowledgeable people. Great place. Two of my PRS's have been bought there.

Today I visited Andertons Music. I am from Brazil, and I was well attended by a very nice guy whose name is impossible to pronounce correctly! Great fellow. Overall, what a fantastic music story. I had never been so well received in an instrument shop before. Thank you, guys. I hope to come back soon! Cheers.
I was fortunate enough to visit Andertons twice and actually appeared in this background of the video, testing out some amps in the demo booth at 14:56. Great store with great staff, products and videos! 😀

Kent was a US distributor that rebranded made in Japan guitars back in the 60’s and 70’s. Don’t know if they sold in the UK though.
Bowie did play a Kent during the Spiders era, so maybe.

Well I spent this Sunday morning at Andertons. I took some guitars in and came out with a Jimi Hendrix custom shop and a Chapman ML1 pro modern. Service was great, and frankly guys both the shop and the Chapman guitars are a credit to you - you should be very proud.
Hearing Rob play "Mantra Of The Monkey Lord" at 2:25 made me so happy

First went to Andertons around ‘84, it was much smaller then. Walked in and Allan Holdsworth was sat there noodling away! Amazing.

Gear reviews have been very helpful and just watching you guys play and discuss have helped bring reality to the whole situation when wondering what certain gear sounds like and if it would suit my needs.
And of course the shenanigans are most appreciated.
Lee, It does seem like you’ve been more open to learning the rock ‘n’ roll side of the guitar and sometimes you really open up and let it wail quite impressively.
Rob, you’ve come a long way since your first TH-cam videos! Congratulations on your business, and obviously all of your other successes.

Wow. I assumed it was a big store but I never knew it was so massive with such a comprehensive inventory. Incredibly impressive and encouraging that a privately owned music store like Anderton's can thrive in this day and age. Keep up the good work (and the legacy) Captain. And its time for YOU to do a new series of guitar lessons.
I'm fine with new stores and all, just don't get rid of one of the last good mom-and-pop guitar shops. It's seriously impressive that you guys have survived so long, keep it going!
Great video guys, So need to build stone statues of you both outside the shop, Chappers on the ballard. You have earned your success. You sales care and after care are amazing. I wouldn't shop anywhere else now. Not many suppliers I could recommend buying unseen over the internet, Every purchase online has arrived quickly, well packaged and perfect specimens of the gear purchased. Guys I can't recommend Andertons enough. Try it and you won't go anywhere else. Cheers guys.
Andertons was an absolute joy to visit when I went a year and a half ago. Definitely the highlight of my trip to London. Great staff, and helped me pick my first decent guitar.
I don't normally go out of my way to compliment businesses, but a couple of guitars and a bucket of bits and pieces delivered to the other side of the world with pretty damned good service to boot made for an online shopping experience that wasnt nearly as stressful as it could have been. Cheers for that!

Ive been a patron of guitarguitar for a little while as i live near Birmingham so the concept to me of just picking up a guitar off the wall and kindly asking a lovely andertons staff member for an amplification device to which he was very helpful in helping set up was a lovely experience. Absolutely fantastic store that i would love to travel back to for my next purchase of guitarage

If I ever get “arountoit” (they’re hard to come by) I would love to visit your great country and do a Beatles tour (is there such a thing?), stop by Jimmy Pages house, say hi, bow down before him and kiss the hand of god! But above all to stop in Andertons and meet the greats Chappers & the Captain !!!

Andertons videos have filled me with joy and laughter for 10 years now. When I visit your parts, I will be sure to come in and support the store.
I bought my first two guitars in the original store about 50 years ago. Now, if in the UK, I enjoy the helpful and friendly staff and demo rooms. If at home in Thailand, the online shop works brilliantly - VAT deducted immediately and shipping cost shown. Super fast delivery by UPS with (at least in Thailand) predictable local tax and duty to pay on delivery. Brilliant service!

I’m from Germany and we spent our vacation in the Southwest of England. Needless to say that we had to make a stop at Anderton’s. (My girlfriend was very patient, thanks). It was an awesome experience (not the patience but the shop :-). I spent like 3 hours in one of the “try out booth” and finally found my dream guitar in an Epiphone Dot. The stuff was super helpful and nice. Thank you very much Anderton’s, you are great 👍🏻

I'm from the US and was spending time in Germany for a few months. Always wanted to visit England, mainly for Anderson's, so I was able to get a super cheap flight over for a few days. Stepping into the store I'd seen so many times on youtube was a crazy experience. Everyone was super friendly too. Wish I had a store like that near me in the US...

Being an Indian resident...I had made it a point to visit this shop during my uk visit...was amazed with the collection of pedals and options for left handed electric guitars.... definitely visiting this shop whenever I am in the UK next time.
The place looks great. Many happy purchases made from you over the years and I still visit occasionally. Just a wonderful shop to visit. Always a huge selection and such friendly staff. I've not been in for about a year so will have to come by and check it out.
My wife and I are planning our honeymoon trip to Iceland and are stopping by UK for a few days, and visiting Andertons is definitely in my must do list. I could only hope my wife would allow me to bring back a PRS with us.

I've got to say I didn't think there was anything wrong with the Dawsons near me but after coming to you guys to buy a bass I was blown away but how nice and actually helpful everyone was. Not to pit two companies against each other or anything. But there'd be a clear winner if someone wanted to maybe do that

i bought the white Marcus miller v7 just over chappers shoulder when they don't sing all about that bass. bought it about two days ago that exact bass and its currently sat across my lap while watching this video. thanks for the great bass guys!
